Chapter 88 Master Alden Vance

Chapter 88 Master Alden Vance

There was no such thing as too many spells.

With the Terra Break Tome, Chloe didn’t have to worry about her magical plants staging a mass rebellion one day

Now that was a real treasure.

Chloe’s mood kept getting better the more she looked at it.

She had quite a few spells under her belt now: Pyro Sphere, Aqua Sphere, Flash Freeze, and Terra Break.

All of them were game-changers when it came to keeping herself safe.

But her personal defense still left something to be desired.

Chloe kept fishing, and she was getting hooked on treasure hunting, but it was all about luck and fate. No matter how much she scrolled, she couldn’t find any good deals or hidden gems.

instead, she got a front-row seat to all the juicy gossip in the global chat.

It was just like those old MMOs. Since Players were all isolated and might never meet, the global chat was full of people arguing and throwing shade.

Chloe watched for a bit but quickly lost interest. She didn’t really care about other Players’ drama; what mattered to her was whether her territory could thrive.

But then, a Player’s angry rant caught Chloe’s attention.

Megalodon: [Just you wait. Trying to rip me off with that garbage gear for my top-tier loot? You gotta be kidding me.

[My talent is Blood Tracking. I can lock onto Players and reveal the map. The day this game goes full multiplayer and the whole world opens up, I’m coming for you. I’ll hunt you down to the ends of the earth.]

SpringBreeze: [Ooh, I’m so scared. You’re gonna hunt me down? Please, Players can’t even meet up in this game, lol.] Chloe frowned as she read Megalodon’s rant.

So some Players had talents made for combat and hunting others.

Once the newbie phase was over, things definitely wouldn’t stay peaceful.

That sense of relief Chloe had felt after sorting out her territory’s soil disappeared in a flash.

SHE kept fishing, waiting patiently for a bite.

Maybe it was bad luck on this foggy day, but she hadn’t caught a single thing. Her magic fishing rod was completely silent, like it had lost its voice.

Three hours of fishing, and she hadn’t caught a single thing.

After some thought, Chloe decided not to stick around any longer.

She took a look around her territory and figured it was finally time to dig into all those tutorials she’d left gathering dust. Chloe had two tutorials ready to go.

One was a 2-hour Enchanting for Beginners, and the other was a rare 24-hour Arcane Hydro-Electric Conversion Engineering course.

Both were seriously valuable finds.

She wanted to see how things looked tomorrow and whether the 24-hour course would have any major impact on her territory’s buildings before she could feel comfortable starting it.

Chloe headed back to the Slime Cabin, put on her Pale Sorceress and Magic Apprentice titles, and pulled out her Crystal of Knowledge.

Then, she took out her 2-hour Enchanting for Beginners tutorial-a small, pale spot of light that glowed softly.

It was a diamond-shaped shard floating in the air. As Chloe gazed at it, she could see all sorts of intricate, complex

patterns swirling inside. It was truly unique, and the longer she stared, the more it made her head spin.

Chloe stared at it for a moment and then took hold of the glowing spot.

System Notification: [You have used a Knowledge Shard from Master Alden.]

In that instant, Chloe’s mind felt like it had plunged straight into a kaleidoscope.

She couldn’t see anything else. Her entire vision was overwhelmed by flashes spinning endlessly in her eyes and mind, until her nerves felt like

For a full five minutes, Chloe was swept away in a dizzying kaleidoscope of spinning colors.

She lost all sense of her body, her breath, and even her very existence. There was nothing but the endless, shifting patterns that swallowed up her entire world.

It wasn’t until a spot of light appeared before her, catching her gaze, that Chloe’s lost mind finally found an anchor.

When Chloe finally regained her senses, she realized she was sitting in a classroom with a magical, fantasy vibe.

The place was a towering treehouse, its walls lined with wood that showed years of age and history.

All the chairs were little tree stumps, circling a huge wooden table in the center.

At the far end stood a pitch-black blackboard, adorned with emerald leaves.

This treehouse was seriously unique, As Chloe sat there, she could make out runes drifting through the air, so fine they seemed to melt right into it. Staring too long made her head throb.

As Chloe sat there, she noticed she wasn’t the only one here.

There were also transparent, ghost-like beings with humanoid shapes-arms and legs-taking their places around her. Some were human, but others belonged to all sorts of other races.

Normally, Chloe would’ve been scared, but the sunlight pouring in and the soothing scent of wood made her feel perfectly

at ease.

Suddenly, the treehouse door opened.

A short, stocky man with blue-tinged skin, a sharp nose, and black hair walked in, dressed in a suit and clutching a book to his chest. He took a look around the room.

He snorted, blowing air through his nose, “How come the only people who ever pick up my Knowledge Shards are just a bunch of trash?

“Except for one… two… three… and you, I suppose. You barely count, since you’ve got some magic talent. The rest of you? Not even a hint.

“Why are you even here trying to learn enchanting if you don’t have any magic talent?”

Chloe carefully looked around and realized she was among those the blue-skinned, big-nosed man was pointing out. Next to her, a misty figure spoke up, their voice hard to make out. “So… if I don’t have any magic talent, can I still learn?” The blue-skinned, big-nosed man snorted again. “I’m Alden Vance, a Master-yeah, the famous one.

“Right now, I’m a remnant of knowledge, here to teach you what’s on the syllabus. Whether you have any magic talent or can actually learn anything-that’s your problem.

“You all come from different worlds, timelines, and realities. It’s pure luck you all ended up in the same class.

“And listen up, when I’m teaching, I don’t want to hear any questions, especially not dumb ones like that.”

With a flick of his wrist, the short, blue-skinned Alden cast a special spell that silenced the student next to Chloe, locking them in place.

‘Honestly, I was about to ask something too, Chloe admitted to herself, ‘but after seeing what happened, I’d better keep my mouth shut.’
