Tricia’s arms stayed wrapped around Dominic’s body for a little too long, before he slowly pulled away from her.

The rest of the family had gathered here to know what was going on. But it was only Valerie,

Felicia and I that were confused about this strange woman. Because Giovanni, Dominic and Lorenzo seemed to know who this woman was and didn’t seem quite surprised that she was super clingy with Giovanni.

“Tricia? What are you doing here?”

“Is that all you have to say to your best friend who you haven’t seen in over a decade? Come here, and hug me again.”

Dominic chuckled, and shook his head. “You haven’t changed one bit.”

She giggled, and stepped back, letting go of him. She was still wearing a big smile on her face, and her eyes shone.

“You haven’t either. Still handsome as ever.”

“I’m taken now, Tricia.”

That was when her eyes landed on me, and they went wide.

“Hailey. You’re the famous Hailey that we have been hearing so much about. Wow. Now, I get why Dom is so infatuated by you. You’re beautiful.” To anyone, she sounded like she genuinely meant it, and was just complimenting me.

But, there was something else. Something about the way she said it that made

I forced a smile. “Thanks. Nice meeting you. Your name is Tricia, right?”

“Yes. Dominic’s best friend.”

“Right. Well, welcome. Please have a seat. There’s plenty of food. We’re having a family dinner, and there’s a lot to catch up on.”

“Yes. There is.” She said and walked towards the living room.

And the smile on her face dropped the minute her back was facing us.

But, it was gone in seconds and her smile was back on. Yeah, this girl was definitely hiding

something.

After a long day, everyone had finally settled into their rooms. It was late at night, and I had been waiting for Dominic.

He hadn’t come to bed.

I got up, and was heading towards the room where his family were staying, when I saw Tricia heading towards the pool area. She was in her swimming suit, and looked like she was going for a

swim.

I decided to follow her, and watched as she took a deep breath and dived into the pool.

She was a strong swimmer, and I was amazed.

But, why would anyone go swimming at this time of the night.

Then she came up for air, and swam over to the corner of the pool. I watched as her eyes turned red, and her fangs extended.

She bit into her wrist, and a little blood spilled. She waited a few seconds before putting it inside the water, and then closed her eyes.

What is she doing?

Then a few minutes later, she took her wrist out and the bite mark was completely gone.

She did this three more times, and then relaxed and started to swim again. Her energy was so off and confusing. How was Dominic ever best friends with this type of woman?

As she swam, she was unaware that I was watching her. She seemed so lost in her own thoughts and didn’t know I was there.

Until…

“Hey, Hailey.” She called, looking directly at me.

She had known I was here the whole time.

Bitch.

I could feel my wolf growing restless and she wanted to come out and tear her into pieces. She hasn’t done anything to prove my doubts about her, but it was as if my gut was telling me to be careful and that there was more than what meets the eye.
