CHAPTER HUNDRED ONE

I could feel the rage building up inside me, and it was hard to contain it. I didn’t want to make a scene, but the thought of them being so intimate with each other, and him being the reason behind her career, it was driving me crazy. That was what she wanted. She was doing this intentionally to get a reaction from me. She wanted to make it seem like Dominic had a thing for her, or still does. She was trying to paint a picture in my head, and the jealousy and anger were consuming me.

But, I tried to keep calm and not let it get to me.

Dominic was not interested in her, and he did not have any feelings for her. He was all mine.

“You don’t have to thank me. You would’ve done great, even without my encouragement. Everyone knew that you were born for it, I just happened to be the one to give you the push. I’m glad to see that you’re happy and successful.”

She smiled and took a sip of her wine.

“So, tell us more about your life. What have you been up to?” Felicia asked.

“Well, let’s see. I travel a lot. And when I’m not travelling, I’m doing shoots, or attending fashion shows, and sometimes doing commercials. So, my life is quite busy.”

“No love interests yet? Boyfriend? Husband?”

She turned to Felicia and smiled. “I’ve had a couple of suitors, and my fair share of boyfriends. I recently broke up with my last one a month ago because he just wasn’t doing it for me.”

“What did he do?”

“He was just too boring and predictable. He wasn’t exciting at all. Just like every other man I’ve

dated.”

“Wow, so the life of a supermodel is really not as glamorous as it seems.”

“No, not really. And I think my lifestyle is a huge factor. I’m always travelling and shooting, so my free time is limited. Although I’d like to get married and settle down soon, you know? I’ll be turning thirty one soon. I just haven’t met Mr. Right yet, or maybe he has found someone else. Or maybe he doesn’t exist, and he’s just a myth.”

I trooped in. “I’m sure your soulmate is out there. You just haven’t given yourself the chance to really get to know anyone. It takes a lot of work to maintain a relationship, especially in this kind of environment. But, I’m sure the right one will come along.”

“Yeah. Well, I’m not really into the idea of marriage and commitment, or kids. So, I’m not holding my breath. The only thing that matters to me right now, is my career. I was once in love though… It was a long time ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday.”

“Do tell. Come on, we’re all ears.”

“It’s not a story you’d want to hear.”

“Oh come on, I’m sure it’s interesting. Tell us.”

“Well, he was my highschool teenage crush. But, turns out it wasn’t just a crush after all. When I realized how nervous I would be whenever he gets near, how hot I get when he obliviously looks at me, how I only wanted to hang out with him, how I couldn’t stop thinking about him, how I didn’t care that he had flaws, in fact they made me more attracted to him. I loved that dangerous, edgy feeling of being with a bad guy, you know? Still do. I want someone who does bad things without remorse, it makes him so attractive. Someone like a gangster.”

She looked at Dominic and giggled.

“How come I never knew about this guy?” Dominic innocently asked.

Because it was you, dummy.

You couldn’t tell me that Dominic didn’t understand what she was trying to say. Dominic was anything but innocent, and this was an obvious attempt to get a reaction out of me.
