DOMINIC
“No, but if she thinks we’re a little too friendly, or are acting the same way we used to, it’s not going to end well. We don’t live in the same house anymore. And, it’s not the same. I don’t want to have to choose between my best friend and my fiancé. Please, Tricia. You’re not making this easy.”
“Sorry. Okay. I get it. Your long time best friend doesn’t matter anymore because you’ve got a girlfriend/fiancé. Totally get it. What was I thinking? Why would I think we could pick up where we

left off?”
“Tricia, you’re putting words into my mouth. That’s not what I said. And you know it’s not true. You’re still my best friend, but Hailey is the woman that I love, and nothing can compare to that. All I’m saying is that the relationship has to change. I’ve told her about you, and she’s cool with it. She doesn’t have a problem with me hanging out with you or going places with you. But, it’s a little more complicated. She knows that we’ve known each other our entire lives, and are very close. Which is why, I think it’s best if she doesn’t see anything that would give off the vibe that we’re more than friends. It’s a weird situation. You get what I mean, right? Like, I’ve told her you and I are only friends, and that you’re like a sister to me, and the fact that we’re extremely close would give her a mixed vibe. If she thinks we’re more than friends, I could lose her, and the last thing I want is
for her to be hurt.”
“But, Dom-”
“Just think about it. And please, don’t make it a big deal. This is my mate. My love. And you are the woman who’s always been there for me. My best friend. But, the two relationships are completely different, and they require completely different things. As my best friend, I’ll be there for you and do anything for you. But, as my wife, and mate, Hailey comes first, and will always come first. Because, she’s the most important person in the world to me, and will always be. The love I have for her is like nothing else. And, no matter what, it’ll never compare to the love we have as best
friends.”
“Yeah. Okay. I guess. But, it’s not like she’s ever around anyways. I rarely even see her, and when I do, it’s only a minute. And you’re always so busy. Like, I’ve hardly seen you.”
“Is that why you decided to tell her women are standing around to take me from her? That was totally unnecessary, Trish.”
“But it’s the truth, isn’t it? I’m just trying to let her know your worth in case she wants to act up. Women would literally die to be with you, Dom. Have you seen yourself? You’re a god. And you have women falling all over you. What would stop them from taking what’s theirs? Or yours, for

that matter.”

“I love Hailey, Tricia. And no matter how hot those other women are, and how much they worship the ground I walk on, I will never even look their way. Never. She’s the only one for me. And I’m
done with playing around. It was fun, but now I have the real deal. I have a future with Hailey. And that’s something I never thought I would have. So, yeah. You’re right. Women would kill to have a chance with me, and men would be insane to have Hailey. But, she’s mine. And I’m hers. We’re the real deal. So, if it’s not her, it’s not anyone. No one will ever come close. Ever.”
“Wow. Dom. You’re whipped.”
“I am. And proud of it. Now, can we not make a big deal of this? It’s just a few boundaries. It’s not a
bad thing.”
“Okay. But, just know that if it gets too awkward or whatever, you can’t kick me out. You’re my best friend, and this is the only place I can be at peace.”
