CHAPTER HUNDRED-SEVEN
DOMINIC
The ride to the restaurant was a silent one, as I stayed lost in my thoughts. I was beginning to worry about Tricia.
When she had newly started drinking from humans as a vampire years ago, she would drink and drink until she drains them to death. We thought it was because she was a newbie, so she couldn’t control her hunger, we thought it was because it was a transition phase, and her body needed to
adjust.
But, after a while, and seeing that her diet was only human blood, it was getting worse.
I didn’t want to believe that something was wrong with her, but there was no denying that.
She’d drink and drink, and wouldn’t be satisfied. Her body wouldn’t stop, and her thirst would never end. She’d need to drink and drink until her victim is lifeless.
After a few months, the council found out. They had caught wind of the rumors, and were concerned. They wanted to find the vampire that was causing such trouble.
We tried everything.
I took her to doctors and hospitals, but they couldn’t figure out what the problem was. They couldn’t diagnose her, or help. It was only after we consulted a seer to dig deep into the case, did we realize that Tricia was a pure blood, one of the most powerful vampires there are.
A pure blood has the ability to drain their victim completely, and not die. They’re one of the first vampires to ever be created, and their offsprings will be pure blood too.
And now, it all made sense why Tricia couldn’t stop drinking from her victims, and draining them
dry.
She could drink and drink, but her hunger will never cease.
Which is why, the council decided that until she’s able to control her cravings and her thirst, and is no longer a threat, she must only drink blood bags, or animal blood.
But, there are times when her cravings take over, and she can’t help but go hunting. I would be there with her, I would help her, and keep her at bay, and make sure she doesn’t go too far.
But, today was a little risky, and it could have been very dangerous.
If she would have been caught, we would have a lot of explaining to do, and the consequences
would be severe.

¿ me think,
has she being drinking from humans and breaking the rules all these years of her absence. If that was the case, then she was going to get in serious trouble.
If she truly has not been working on her cravings, there’s a possibility that she has killed over a hundred people over the years, just to quench her thirst.
And if that’s true, then the punishments would be severe.
I hated seeing Tricia in trouble, but if it was true, and she has been killing people without reason or permission, then I have no choice.
“Tricia, can I ask you something?”
“Sure.”
“Have you been drinking from humans even while you’ve been gone?”
“What kind of question is that, Dominic?”
“An honest one. Answer it. And I want you to be honest. I don’t care what the answer is, and there won’t be any judgement. I just want to know.”
“I don’t know, Dom. Does it matter? You know I can’t control myself. It’s not like the doctors helped
or anything.”
“That’s not an answer, Trish. I want to know if you’ve killed anyone. Did you ever stop and follow the rules? Did you only hunt animals and drank blood bags? I need you to be honest. It’s very
important.”
“Yes, No. Maybe. I don’t know, Dominic. What do you want me to say?”
“The truth. It’s just the two of us here. No one else. I’m not going to get mad or judge you. I’m trying to protect you. So, I need to know if there have been incidents or not.”
“Dom, why are you making a big deal of this?”
“Because, I don’t want you getting in trouble. Or getting us in trouble. You’ve done great at keeping your identity secret, but if you start killing humans, it’s only a matter of time before they track you down. And then, all hell will break loose.”
“No one’s going to find out, Dominic. Don’t worry. It’ll be okay.”
“No, it won’t. You’ve killed people, Tricia. More than a few. You’ve drained them dry. If they find out, and link that to the deaths, it’s over. For both of us. For all of us.”
“How would they know, though?”
