“You would want to have another baby with me? Why?”

“Because, Dom. I love you, and I can’t imagine my life without you. You’ve made me a mother, and you’re a wonderful father. What’s stopping us from having a second baby? We’re young, and Liam

would love a baby sister or brother. He loves kids.”

“I know he does. It’s not that I don’t want a second child, it’s just, you sure you want one? We have never spoken about it, and it’s crossed my mind a few times, but I didn’t know how to bring it up.”

“Dom, it’s okay. And of course I would. It’s not like we’re too old. We still have a lot of years ahead of us, and I want a bigger family. And you, well, you’ve already given me a taste of what fatherhood would be like. You’re a wonderful father. And I would love to have another baby with you. This time, we are going to do it right. This time you’re going to be present through every phase, get to feel his or her kicks, get to come for hospital visits, and watch him or her being born. The first time was traumatizing for both of us and I wouldn’t want to re live that. So, yes, Dom. I would definitely love to have another baby with you.”

“Oh, Hailey. Come here, you.”

I pulled her closer, and kissed her passionately, forgetting that we were in the mall, and we had two kids waiting for us.

“Mommy, daddy! What are you doing?” Liam asked, giggling.

“Kissing mommy. Don’t you think mommy is the most beautiful woman alive?”

“Mhm. She is. And I love her so much. Just like I love you. You guys are the best parents in the

world.”

“Aw, baby. You are the sweetest. Now, are you ready to shop?”

“Yes!”

“Let’s go then.”

“Daddy, can I hold your hand?”

“Of course.”

Hailey took Gianna’s hand, and we walked into the store. The kids immediately started running around, and Liam was dragging Gianna with him.

We watched them have a blast, and bought them a bunch of toys.

The moment Liam spotted a huge teddy bear, he squealed and ran towards it, jumping up and down.

“I want this one. This one, please. Please, daddy. Mommy. Pleasssse.”

“You really like that one?”

“I love it.”

Gianna picked out a barbie do with house, and a bunch of outfits and shoes. We had so many bags, and it was only a matter of time before the kids got tired and we had to leave.

They were tired, and hungry. So, we decided to take them for dinner. I drove us to an Italian restaurant, and the kids were delighted. They sat at the kid’s table, while Hailey and I sat at our table.

Watching Hailey and Liam interact and bond was the highlight of my day. It was amazing watching the two most important people in my life laugh and smile.

We ate, and had fun, and the kids had a blast.

By the time we were home, it was almost midnight. The kids were exhausted, and fell asleep the

moment their heads hit the pillow.

I helped Hailey bathe Liam, and tuck him in bed, while she helped Gianna shower and change.

Afterwards, the two kids cuddled up, and were sleeping.

Hailey and I headed downstairs, and I had a glass of wine.

“That was fun.”

“It was. I love spending time with the kids. They are amazing. And Gianna is the sweetest.”

“I’m glad you had fun, baby. How do you feel?”

“Tired, but content. I think I need a massage. My body aches.” She groaned, trying to stretch.

I smiled with mischief, as I took her hands and led her upstairs. “I have just the right cure for you.”

“Mhm. You’re not gonna put me to sleep, are you?”

“Only if you beg me to.”

“No.”

“Good.”
