After Rejection Divorced Luna Becomes A Famous Doctor (Hailey and Dominic) novel Chapter 251

CHAPTER HUNDRED-NINETYONE-1

DOMINIC

Tonight was the most scariest night of my life, and trust me, I’ve been in many terrifying situations. But seeing Hailley carrying our unconscious son into the ER, his limp body, not responding to any form of stimulation, broke something inside me.

I have always known that my family was a target, and I have taken every precaution to ensure their safety. But tonight, I failed. Tonight, my son almost died.

I couldn’t even blame my enemies for this, because this was purely an accident. How could anyone have predicted that a toy boat would nearly kill Liam? It was a tragic twist of fate, and it left me reeling.

It took everything in me to hold back my tears. Hailley was already a mess, and I had to be strong for her.

She was sobbing uncontrollably, her body trembling as I walked her to the car in the hospital’s garage, the click clack of her heels echoing in the empty space.

“He’s going to be okay, Hailey,” I said, my voice a low murmur.

She looked up at me, her eyes red and puffy, her face streaked with tears.

“How can you be so sure?” she asked, her voice a raw whisper.

“Because he’s a fighter,” I said, my jaw clenched tight. “He’s a King. And we don’t give up. Not ever.”

I got into the driver’s seat, my hands shaking as I fumbled for the keys. My mind was a mess, my thoughts racing, a chaotic jumble of what ifs and if onlys.

What if they weren’t able to resuscitate him? What if I had to come back to the hospital to get my dead son? What if Hailey loses the baby due to this stress? If only I had insisted on more guards. If only I had gone with them. If only I had been there to catch him before he fell.

I started the engine, the roar of the motor a welcome distraction.

I drove in silence, the only sound the hum of the engine and Hailey’s soft sobs. She had her head resting against the window, her eyes closed, her body slumped in the seat.

My mind was a whirlwind of emotions. I was angry, at myself, at the world, at the cruel twist of fate that had brought us to this point.

“It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t felt like I wasn’t giving Liam enough attention, this wouldn’t have happened. Liam would be in his room, playing his toys, sleeping peacefully. I’m a horrible mother,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “The pack members were right. I’m a danger to my children.”

I reached over, my hand finding hers. I gave it a gentle squeeze, my touch a silent promise.

“It’s not your fault, Hailey,” I said, my voice firm. “It was an accident. A tragic, horrible accident. But it wasn’t your fault.”

“But I was there,” she sobbed, her body trembling. “I was supposed to be watching him. I was supposed to

protect him.”

“And you did,” I said, my tone leaving no room for argument. “You were there for him. You called for help. You didn’t panic. You did everything you could. You saved him, Hailey. You and the guards. And who the fuck told you that you were a danger to our children? If you know who said that, I swear, I’m going to rip their tongue out of their throat.”
