CHAPTER TWOHUNDRED ELEVEN 2

CHAPTER TWOHUNDRED-ELEVEN-2

Her fear was palpable, a tangible thing that filled the small space. She was scared of me, of the power l held, of the promise of a slow, painful death.

“I… I don’t know anything,” she stammered.

“I don’t believe you,” I said, my patience wearing thin. “You were her accomplice. You must know something. A friend, a relative, a hiding spot. Anything.”

She shook her head, her eyes pleading. “I swear, I don’t. She never told me anything. She was… secretive.”

I could feel the frustration building, a hot, burning anger. I was so close, yet so far.

“Please,” I begged, my voice cracking. “Please, Lucy. He’s the father of my children. I need to find him.”

She looked at me, her expression softening slightly. She saw the desperation in my eyes, the raw, unfiltered pain. She saw a woman who was fighting for her family.

“There is a place she used to take me sometimes. A place she said she would go to if she ever needed to disappear or if we ever needed to make plans. A place she called ‘The Sanctuary’.”

I leaned forward, my heart pounding in my chest. “Where is it?”

“It’s a house. A remote cabin up in the mountains. She said it was off the grid, completely isolated. She

said it was her place of peace. Her sanctuary.”

I could feel the hope surging through me, a lifeline in the vast, dark ocean of my fear.

“Take me there,” I demanded.

“I can’t,” she said, her voice trembling. “She’ll kill me.”

“I’ll kill you if you don’t,” I shot back, my threat hanging in the air. “You have a choice, Lucy. Help me, or die down here. It’s that simple.”

She looked at me, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and resignation. She knew I was serious.

“I’ll take you,” she said, her voice barely audible. “But you have to promise to protect me.”

“I promise,” I said, the words a solemn vow. “I understand that you were also a victim, but refusing to help us get to her is like choosing her side. We wouldn’t have to protect you if you just helped us from the

start.”

She hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Okay. I’ll help you.”

“Good,” I said, a sense of relief washing over me. “Now, tell me everything you know about this place. The location, the layout, the security. Everything.”

She took a deep breath, then began to talk. I absorbed every information with every fiber of my being. She told me about the cabin’s location, hidden deep within the mountain range, accessible only by a narrow,

winding road.”

I immediately called Giovanni and assembled every single one of our pack’s best trackers and warriors. I told them about the cabin and we planned our attack. They were ready to go, armed with silver bullets, iron restraints, and a fury that matched my own. We were an army, a force of nature, and we were coming for Tricia.

“You need to stay here, Hailey,” Giovanni said, his tone leaving no room for argument. “You and Valerie. You’re heavily pregnant. Dominic would have my heart if he finds out I brought you along.”

“No,” I said, my voice firm. “I’m going with you. I need to be there. I need to see him.”

He looked at me, his expression conflicted. He knew I wouldn’t back down.

“Alright,” he sighed, defeated. “But you stay in the back. You do not engage. Do you understand me?”

I nodded, my resolve unwavering. “I understand.”

We moved out, our convoy of black SUVS a silent, predatory shadow in the night. The journey to the mountains was long and tense, the air thick with a mixture of anticipation and fear.

I could feel the baby kicking, a small, comforting reminder of the life growing inside me, a life I was fighting for.
