Catherine blinked, then smiled at Nettie. “Why not give Nicol a chance? Honestly, from what I’ve seen, he’s a genuinely good guy. He doesn’t come off as the type to play games.”
Nettie sighed, shaking her head. “I know he’s a good person. The problem’s me. I’m just too scared to take that next step.”
Catherine really believed they’d be perfect together, but when it came to love, it wasn’t her place to meddle.
They’d just stepped into a handbag store when they spotted two familiar faces inside. Of all people, it had to be Shirley and Alice.
Talk about running into enemies at every turn.
Alice was fussing over a limited-edition purse, and Shirley was standing nearby, arms crossed, shooting daggers at Catherine. “You’ve got some nerve showing your face here to shop.”
Catherine just smiled and linked arms with Nettie. “Why wouldn’t I be here? It’s not like I have anything to hide.” They walked right into the store, heads held high.
Suddenly, Alice jabbed a finger in Catherine’s direction and raised her voice. “Catherine, I heard from Shirley you’re trying to steal her work. What’s wrong with you? Did your mother die too soon to teach you any respect?”
Catherine’s face turned cold in an instant. Her eyes narrowed, and she walked toward Alice, slow and steady. “Say that again. I dare you.”
Alice shrank back, her confidence crumbling. “Catherine, what are you doing?”
“You called me rude, right? Let me show you just how rude I can be.”
Without warning, Catherine swung the hard-shell purse she was holding and swept it right across Alice’s face.
Alice let out a shriek, clutching her burning cheek as she stumbled backward, bumping into a display rack. A bunch of expensive bags slid to the floor.
“Catherine, how dare you hit my mom!” Shirley lunged forward to shove Catherine.
Catherine’s eyes were icy as she met Shirley’s stare. “I’ll be waiting.”
Shirley was furious she hadn’t brought any bodyguards with her today. She hadn’t expected Catherine to be out shopping with six of them in tow. There was no way she could win this round.
Once the pair finally left, Catherine turned to the store manager, who looked like she was about to cry. “I’m sorry for all the trouble. I’ll pay for any damages.”
The manager nodded and sent an employee to check the losses. In the end, one of the bags had lost a diamond, so Catherine just paid for it outright. She figured Nettie, who was an expert at fixing things like this, could handle the repair without any trouble.
Catherine noticed how much Nettie liked the bag, so she handed it over to her as a gift.
Meanwhile, as soon as Alice got into the car, she pulled out her phone and called Nestor. She was determined to tell him everything that had happened. When he got back, she wanted him to put Catherine in her place and make her pay for what she’d done.

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
