"I am not letting Catherine get away with this. There’s no way she’s stealing my Resonance AI. It’s not that I’m scared of her, but this time, I want to see her reputation shattered. She needs to know just how clueless she really is." Shirley was so angry, she didn’t even bother to hide it anymore.
Amy let out a small laugh. "Shirley, maybe you should head back now. Let me think about it. Who knows, maybe I’ll show up in court and testify."
Shirley felt a wave of relief. She’d assumed Amy would be hard to sway, but that hadn’t been the case at all.
"Alright, Amy, I’ll see you then." Shirley sounded so much lighter, convinced Catherine was done for.
What she didn’t realize was that Amy never said who she’d be testifying for in court.
Amy clearly didn’t plan to explain either. She stood up and said, "Take care. We’ll keep in touch."
Shirley smiled, "Amy, I think the villa across the way is much quieter. I upgraded your suite, so make yourself at home and get some rest, okay?"
"That’s very thoughtful," Amy replied with a smile, setting her teacup down as she walked Shirley to the door.
Once Shirley left the villa, her eyes burned with confidence. This time, Catherine was going to fall hard. She’d picked the wrong person to mess with.
As soon as Shirley’s car disappeared, Amy pulled out her phone and called Catherine.
"Hey, Amy." Catherine’s voice was warm on the other end.
"Catherine, Shirley just came by. She honestly thinks I’ll take the stand for her. It’s laughable. She has no idea how ridiculous she sounds," Amy said, her eyes glinting with contempt.
"I know. She refuses to accept that Resonance AI is mine. Even after I served her the lawsuit, she just brushed it off. Now she’s got The James Group’s lawyers counter-suing me."
"I just heard her say it herself. She actually wants to ruin your reputation."
"Ruin my reputation? Let’s see who comes out on top," Catherine laughed.
