Chapter 232
AELIANA
I stir awake at the sound of a door closing. I prop up on my elbows and stare, taking in my surroundings. I’m no longer in the car but in my bedroom now, and Kingston just walked out of the shower naked. I’m naked too, dazed by sleep and heat.
“King,” I sniff.
He immediately settles at the edge of the bed, too far for my liking. His eyes search mine. “We need to talk, Siren.”
“Okay.”
“What you saw at Rivers the other day—”
“Didn’t we talk?” I scoff, “I don’t want to go back to that please, not right now.”
“I can’t keep it a secret anymore because it’s affecting us, and I’d rather lose her than you.”
“Kingston…” I sigh, everything he says to me right now sounds a lot like nothing, but he keeps talking.
“I was there because-fuck,” he hisses, pausing now. “You’re not listening, are you?”
“I am,” I frantically nod. “I just don’t want to hear that again.”
His lips pull into a smirk, “Still so stubborn.” He groans, grabbing my leg and pulling me down until my legs drape over his lap. “Come here.”
I yelp, “I’m listening.”
“And you’ll understand every word better once you’ve been knotted and filled, won’t you?” He shifts, hovering over me. “You like the sound of that?”
“Yes, please.” I moan, “I want you to knot me.”
I spread my legs for him, coming the moment I feel his cock inside me, the feel of him stretching me sends me into a daze, I seem to black out, lost to every filthy whisper and the insane pleasure of having Kingston inside me brings. I’ve never had a heat this desperate, I used to buy heat suppressants, but I doubt this heat would’ve been suppressed.
All I can feel is King, my thoughts are all linked to the feel of him.
My sanity seems to return just as he comes, his knot swelling deep inside, pushing against my cervix. I’m so full I can feel it leaking around us, and the best part just might be how worked Kingston is. He slides an arm under me and shifts us, his knot still swelling.
“I think I should ask Maddox for heat suppressants when he arrives,” I rasp, my throat raw and my lips dry.
Kingston places his hands on my hips, staring at me with wonder. “Don’t insult me, Siren.” He groans.
“I like you a lot,” I laugh, putting my hands over his. What I want to say is I love you, but my heart feels so heavy, and I’m scared of him taking it back like before.
“I’ll take it,” he smiles. “And now you can listen.”
“What?” My eyes widen. “Are you serious? We’re practically fused Kingston!”

“I’m well aware, so before that next wave hits and you send me into a rut, I want to make things clear, Aeliana.”
I shake my head, “We don’t have to do this.”
“We do.” He nods. “You put yourself in danger because you were mad at me, and I’d never forgive myself if anything happened to you.”
“Don’t say I’m all that matters because that’s a lie.”
“No, you’re not all that matters.” His voice softens, and I must be wearing my emotions on my face because he goes right into comfort mode. “You are what matters most, which is why I think it’s important to tell you exactly what happened.”
“Your secrecy expired?” I raise an eyebrow.
“No, but as I said earlier, I choose you.” He quietly says. “This seems like a you or her moment and protecting her secret feels like choosing her to you, right?”
I nod. “Yeah.”
“So I’ll give you the truth,” he says, caressing my cheek. “Audrey tried to kill herself that night.”
I pause, unable to process what it is that he said to me. “What?”
“That night at Rivers, she tried to end her life. No responders were coming on site, so they called me. She called me to say goodbye.”
No.
That doesn’t make sense at all, Audrey was fine at Rivers, she was living it up on the dance floor until an hour or less leading up to Kingston’s arrival. “But she’s okay.”
“Yes, she is,” he sighs, appearing stressed just retelling what happened. “And that is because I drove her to a shifter’s hospital and they helped her. The wolfsbane also happened to have been laced with counterfeit produce so they were able to aid her and she recovered quickly.”
Oh.
Now that makes sense, it definitely sounds more like Audrey. The pills she purchased weren’t laced with counterfeit produce, they were laced with wolfsbane. Audrey Cole loves life way too much to give it up, that woman is saw when I returned from the foundation? She looked triumphant, she wouldn’t be keen on risking her life even if it were just for attention. “Aeliana,” Kingston coos. “Say something.”
I shake my head, staring down at him with confusion. He felt for it. “I thought you chose her, and you were scared of admitting it.”
“The only thing I’m scared of is losing you, it keeps me on my toes, but please Siren, you’re killing me.” He
grunts.
“I’m sorry,” I swallow. I let Audrey get in my head even though I knew exactly how King feels about me. The fact that he left me before led me to consider all the venomous bullshit she planted in my subconscious,
“It’s okay,” he says with a slight smile. “I shouldn’t keep secrets from you, we’re married now, you’re my Luna. We have to be honest and open, you’re as good as my Beta, no secrets.”
“No secrets?” I swallow, my heart in my throat already. Memories from that night flash in my mind and I freeze. I was so focused on Kingston betraying me that I went and I did it to him. Lumi whispers in my head, “Tell him.”
