Beast Tamer's Rebirth National Treasure Edition novel Chapter 11

Chapter 11

As the wolves threw the poachers into chaos, Sierra made her move. She freed herself and the animals from the truck before anyone could stop her.

Even armed with rifles, the hunters froze at the sight of hundreds of wolves, whose eyes were glowing, jaws dripping, and staring them down.

But the real shocker was that the wolves instantly circled Sierra, forming a protective wall around her like she was one of theirs.

Before the poachers could even process it, Sierra stepped out from the pack. The wolves moved aside like she was their leader.

Patrick finally broke free from a wolf’s grip, his face ripped open and bleeding through his fingers. Staring at Sierra in horror, he stammered, “W-Who even are you?”

They’d drugged these wolves to catch them. Yet those wolves were bowing to a human.

Sierra just stared at him without a word. Sweat poured down Patrick’s face. He snatched a rifle and aimed. “What kind of freak are you? Why do they listen to you?”

Sierra took a couple of steps forward. The wolves moved with her, locked on the poachers. The wolves felt the protect Sierra.

urge to

The wolves glared at the poachers like predators eyeing prey, making the poachers even more nervous. The tension was thick, but it was obvious who was in control here. Sierra didn’t bother answering Patrick’s question. She just asked, “You want to know?”

Patrick glared at her.

She smirked. “Ask me if you had a second chance.”

It hit the poachers then. Even if they survived this, they’d spend their lives behind bars.

Realizing Sierra was behind it all, Patrick snapped. “If I’m going down,” he roared, “you’re coming with me.” He lifted the gun, finger on the trigger.

But a shot rang out before he could fire. Patrick dropped. Dust plumed around his body.

In the distance, a helicopter hovered. Timothy’s team rushed back with armed police vehicles. Within minutes, all eighteen. poachers were in custody.

In the desert, snow whipped through the air as hundreds of wolves watched from a distance. After a quick word with Ethan, Sierra walked toward the pack, three wolf pups cradled in her arms.

As she got closer, the wolves broke into wild, echoing howls. One wolf, whose fur matted with blood and dirt, came forward and gently licked one of the pups.

“They still need a full check-up,” Sierra said gently. “Once they’re cleared, I’ll bring them back. Okay?”

The mother wolf froze, stunned. “You understand me?”

Sierra nodded calmly and then asked, “You know Tank, right?”

The wolf’s stare sharpened. A fierce voice echoed in Sierra’s mind. “That deadbeat! He left me and the pups. If I see him again, I’ll bite his head off.”

Worried the female wolf might actually do it, Sierra quickly explained why Tank had gone away.

After a long talk, the mother wolf slowly realized that it might have been wrong about Tank. Its anger faded, replaced with quiet worry. “So… is Tank okay now? Is it back? Will it come home to us?”

“It’s almost healed,” Sierra assured the wolf. “It’ll be back in a few days, and all five of you will be together again.” She glanced toward the rest of the pack.

With their alpha gone, the wolves would need to pick a new leader. After suffering such a huge loss, she was afraid that it would take a long time for the pack to recover.

“Many of you are wounded,” Sierra said softly, still holding the three cubs. “If those injuries aren’t treated, things could get worse. If you’re willing to trust me, I can help you heal. When you’re better, I’ll bring you back home.”

She looked into their amber eyes. “Will you trust me?”

Sierra knew her power only bridged their language gap. It couldn’t change their wild instincts. Animals survived because their defenses kept them alive. She didn’t expect much of a response.

But to her surprise, the air suddenly filled with howls, all echoing one message. “We trust you.” For the first time, Sierra was speechless.

The mother wolf spoke up. “You’re different. We like you. You’re nothing like the ones who trapped us. You’re kind. You risked everything to save my pups. We don’t trust humans, but we trust you. Honestly.”

After Sierra promised again and again that she’d bring them back, the healthy adult wolves turned and disappeared toward the snowy mountains to reclaim their territory. The injured ones followed Sierra calmly back to the rescue truck, surprisingly obedient.

Everyone watching was stunned.

Later, when Sierra finished at the police station and stepped outside, Ethan and the crew were already waiting. “Hey Ethan,” she said, giving a wave to the others.

Timothy couldn’t contain his excitement. “Sierra, you’re unbelievable. How did you convince those wolves to come with you to the rescue center? This is incredible. We can finally study their behavior up close, maybe even help their population grow someday.”

Ethan knocked Timothy lightly on the head. “Don’t ask things you’re not supposed to.” He didn’t want too many people finding out about Sierra’s strange gift just yet.

Then he turned to her, his tone serious. “Seriously though, we all owe you. If it weren’t for you, we’d be dead out there in the desert.”

Without Sierra, the wolves would likely be wiped out, and the rescue team would have ended up buried beneath the sand. But the country was huge. Even with her abilities, Sierra couldn’t stay in Coliburg forever. Ethan couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed.

When it was all over, Tank and the mother wolf were finally reunited, past grievances forgiven.

Sierra stayed on at the rescue center until each wolf was safely returned home. By the time she wrapped things up, two full weeks had flown by.

Then one day, her phone rang. It was Maggie. Sierra picked up, and Maggie exploded. “Sierra, where the hell have The crew showed up at your place and you were gone. Do you have any idea how much trouble you’ve caused?”

you

been?

Sierra winced, pulling the phone away from her ear. Ethan and the others nearby exchanged curious looks.

“Maggie, Sierra said evenly, checking her phone’s calendar, “the show isn’t supposed to start filming for a few more days.
