Chapter 119

Chapter 119

The person on the other end slammed the phone down in anger.

Sebastian stood there, stunned.

When he realized he’d messed with the wrong people, his scalp tingled, and chills raced down his spine.

‘No wonder Sierra dared to stand up to me. This Hustralian expert team came here just to wreck my show!” he thought.

Now that he’d been kicked off the show, Sebastian finally realized all the big shots behind the documentary were Hustralian, even the director. For a moment, Sebastian wondered if he’d just walked right into a trap.

Sebastian’s vision went black, and he nearly passed out.

Meanwhile, on every Hustralian social media site, the news that an Elyrian tried to bully Sierra was spreading like wildfire.

[FYI, Sierra wasn’t bullied at all!]

[Anyone who’s been following Sierra knows she’s not someone you can push around.]

[LOL, remember that Sterling family drama a few days ago? Sierra just marched right in and demanded answers. If it weren’t for her, I never would’ve known there was such a huge scoop.]

[Good thing Hustralia always looks out for its own. They’ve already started negotiating with Elyria, and our expert team should be heading over soon.]

[Wasn’t Sebastian supposed to be some kind of animal whisperer? So why did Sierra say a lot of marine animals actually can’t stand him?]

Sebastian had fans all over the globe, but after that live stream, his reputation in Hustralia was completely destroyed.

To make matters worse, international students and content creators who specialize in overseas platforms clipped the broadcast and spread it all over the internet.

Sebastian was still clueless that his reputation had already crumbled to dust.

Meanwhile, Sierra was just living her best life, eating and drinking like nothing had happened.

It was 10 PM in Elyria, and Sierra kicked back in bed, logging into WonderWild Zoo to dive into the Complete Surgery Guide.

She was already 99% done. Before heading back to Hustralia, she’d have mastered all the knowledge and be ready to take it home with her.

Sierra was so absorbed in her studies that she barely stopped to car or sleep.

The next morning, Sierra was woken up by the orcas’ cries echoing across the water.

The sun was rising in the cast, turning the calm sea into a sheet of gold. The sky was streaked with pale dawn, a few stubborn stars still twinkling, and a faint half-moon hung nearby while the sun started to peek out.

The salty sea breeze filled the air as Sierra stepped out into it from her cabin.

It was six a.m., and the deck was already buzzing with experts.

Chapter 119

As Sierra came out, everyone stepped aside to let her through.

15 vouchers,

Most of them hadn’t been there for what happened yesterday, but the story had already spread like wildfire among the international expert teams.

Everyone looked at Sierra with nothing but respect in their eyes.

She was the only person in the world who dared to stand up to Sebastian and actually came out on top!

Over the years, Sebastian’s skills had made him a global celebrity, and he started acting like he was above everyone else.

Some countries had plenty of wildlife but didn’t have the money for proper training. Whenever they tried to learn how to rescue animals, Sebastian would just turn up his nose at them.

But what it really felt like, only they themselves knew.

A few experts guessed Sierra had come out after hearing the orcas, so one of them said, “Ms. Sterling, the orca pod has been showing up at four a.m. these past few days.”

Sierra glanced at the pod, less than 30 feet from the ship, and gave a gentle smile.

Leah was snuggled up next to its mom when it spotted Sierra by the rail. Leah let out a delighted squeal and called out, “Sierra! Come down and play with us!”

The rest of the orcas chimed in, all inviting Sierra to join them in the water.

Sierra called out, “Wait for me! I’ll get changed and grab some breakfast, then I’ll come join you guys.”

Since the guest lineup for the documentary had changed, Coleson and the director had discussed the filming tasks with Sierra yesterday.

Sierra needed to collect some underwater footage first and finally go looking for dolphins.

Today’s plan still included snorkeling. After telling the orcas, Sierra went to grab breakfast, got changed into her wetsuit, joined her team, and set off on the yacht for another trip into the deep sea.

On the ship, Sebastian, who hadn’t slept a wink all night, watched Sierra board the yacht, looking confident and impressive.

‘So what if Sierra’s some Hustralian expert? I’m an internationally renowned expert. She can’t even compare to me, he thought. ‘Now that she’s taken what’s mine, she’s going to pay for it!’

Sebastian’s eyes were deep and brooding as he stared at Sierra’s retreating figure, his fists clenched tight.

Out on the ocean, the adult female orcas quietly followed Sierra, keeping about 90 feet away.

But the baby orcas were super clingy, always wanting to cuddle with Sierra like hyperactive huskies.

Even though they were just babies, they were total heavyweights. Just one little jump from them could send a splash big enough to flip the yacht’s sail or even tip it over.

So all they could do was hang out by the yacht, making cute little noises with their mouths.

“Sierra, have you ever seen a humpback whale? I went to find one yesterday! Do you want to meet it? It said it’s happy to be on camera!” Leah chattered away beside Sierra.

Sierra had often heard Leah talk about the baby humpback whale, so she couldn’t help but ask, “Doesn’t the humpback whale mom always beat you up? But you seem to get along pretty well?”

Chapter 119

Humpback whales were like the ocean was knights in shining armor, legendary heroes from old stories who showed up whenever something unfair went down in the sea.

And when it came to getting smacked around, orcas were definitely the biggest victims

Orvas were super energetic and playful, so a lot of other sea creatures ended up as their toys.

Whenever that happened, the humpback whales swooped in and smacked the orcas away with their giant flippers, each as long as a car.

Of course, there was another theory. Orcas were always bullying and sometimes even killing baby humpback whales, so the humpbacks would cross oceans just to teach those orcas a lesson.

Orcas were only about 18 or 21 feet long, but a newborn humpback whale is already 12 or 15 feet.

When they were fully grown, humpbacks could reach 45 feet and a massive thirty tons. Whenever they went head-to-head, the orcas always ended up fleeing in panic.

From the looks of Leah’s pod, they actually seemed to get along great with the baby humpback whale.

Sure enough, Leah chimed in. “Yep! We’re good buddies with the baby humpback whale. It sneaks over to play with us all the time.

“But last time, we got a bit too crazy playing around and almost stranded it on the beach. So now the humpback whale mom won’t let me hang out with it. She’ll smack me every single time she sees me.”

After saying that, Leah looked super guilty.

The humpback whale mom was actually pretty easygoing. It only ever smacked Leah, never bothered any of the other orcas.

Leah thought to itself, ‘I definitely can’t let Sierra know about this, or she’ll think I’m a troublemaker orca!”

Leah quickly asked. “Sierra, do you want to meet the baby humpback whale?”

Next to them, Sophie watched Sierra bantering with Leah and the orca pod, and couldn’t help but ask, “What is it saying to you?”

Sierra told everyone about the baby humpback whale.

The documentary was mainly about capturing underwater footage and tracking down dolphins.

Dolphins were pretty scarce. Especially with all these orcas in the area, spotting one would be a long shot.

Timothy rubbed his hands together, excited. “A humpback whale? I’ve never seen one in real life before!”

Just as he finished speaking, the yacht started shaking violently. A massive 15-foot shadow moved beneath the surface, and as it slowly rose, the sea began to churn.

The shadow shifted, and suddenly, it broke the surface, sending white foam spraying out on either side. A pitch-black whale peeked out, half its head showing, looking up at them with big, hopeful eyes.

A soft, innocent voice sounded in Sierra’s ear. “Hi, Sierra! I’m the baby humpback whale. Do you like me?”

Before Sierra could even answer, the yacht got rocked so hard that it flipped over.

The baby humpback whale had pictured meeting Sierra a thousand different ways, but never thought that just poking its head out would send Sierra’s yacht flying.

‘Oh no, I think I just messed up. Big time!’ the baby humpback whale thought, panicking.

Chapter 119

The baby humpback whale stared dazedly at Sierra and the others floating on the surface, letting out a soft, confused hum,

It knew it had messed up, so it just hovered there, looking all sad and guilty, too nervous to swim over.

Seeing what happened, the orca leader quickly had the pod flip Sierra’s yacht back over and helped Sierra and the others onto their backs.

Leah saw that Sierra was drenched, so it gave the baby humpback whale a good whack on the head with her strong tail. “What were you thinking? Sierra’s human. Humans are super fragile! They could keel over any second! Try to be more careful next time, okay?”

Leah was fuming and shouted, “If I’d known you’d mess things up like this, I wouldn’t have let you tag along!”

After Leah’s scolding, the baby humpback whale started bawling its eyes out.

“Hey!” Leah snapped, its temper flaring. Seeing the baby humpback whale cry after messing up, it thought it was a total disgrace to all sea creatures.

“Quit crying! You’re gonna cry away all your good luck!” Leah huffed.

Leah thought to itself, ‘I never even cried when my mom smacked me around, but this baby humpback whale is so pampered. Even a little fart would have it sobbing like crazy!’

Leah said, “Come on, stop crying already! If you keep crying your eyes out, your mom’s totally gonna think I’m bullying you!”

‘Then I’ll be the one getting whacked!’ Leah worried to itself.

The baby humpback whale instantly stopped sniffling and stared at Sierra, who’d just been pulled to safety. Its big heart calmed down a little, and it whimpered, “I didn’t mean to! Please don’t kick me out, okay?”

The baby humpback whale let out a huge bawl, and in the process ended up gulping a mouthful of salty seawater.

Its crying was so ear-splitting that Leah couldn’t take it anymore and gave it another smack right on the forehead.
