Chapter 181 Human Wife
It was clear that the lion being chased and battered by the buffalo was Solomon, the lion king that the pygmy falcon had mentioned.
Solomon was indeed larger than the other male lions, his body imposing. Even if, as the pygmy falcon said, it hadn’t eaten in three days, it remained remarkably strong and solid.
However, the way it ran was baffling. Solomon stayed almost flat to the ground, stumbling every few steps, only to spring back up and keep running.
Buffalo had never been tamed, ranking among the wildest and most dangerous species.
Grumpy and loud, their horns were so strong that even Solomon, the lion king, ended up with a few noticeable scratches on his back after a brief clash.
It started crying even harder. “Bro, I swear I won’t eat your calves ever again. Please, just let me go.
“Ouch, that hurts. Stop hitting my rear, damn it.”
Solomon was bawling its eyes out, but when it saw the buffalo still wasn’t letting up, it gritted its teeth, suddenly spun around, and faced the buffalo that had just tried to take it out.
Solomon said, “Damn it. Do you think I can’t defeat you?”
Solomon suddenly opened his mouth wide and let out a thunderous roar, his sharp teeth glinting in the sunlight. Pushing off with its back legs, it jumped, its sharp claws sinking into the buffalo’s neck and sliding down toward its eyes.
The buffalo howled in pain and whipped its head around, but Solomon clung to its back, sinking its teeth in for a vicious bite.
Those standing by couldn’t help gulping as they watched.
They all thought Solomon was just a coward, but it turned out they totally underestimated what a lion king could really do.
A lone male lion had taken down a buffalo weighing about 770 pounds. This was truly remarkable.
Wesley’s fists tightened with excitement as he stared straight at Solomon, who was clearly winning.
Blood had stained the brown fur on Solomon’s neck.
After half an hour of struggle, the buffalo was utterly exhausted, collapsing onto the grass.
At that very moment, Solomon climbed off the buffalo. Without a hint of hesitation, it bolted. It fought the buffalo, gained the upper hand, and ran.
It even dashed straight back to its hideout up in the tree, tail tucked, trembling in fear, muttering under its breath, “That was close. I almost got crushed to death.”
Sierra couldn’t help but think, ‘Wait, so who actually won?’
The buffalo was covered in bloody holes, but wild animals were tough; unless the wounds were critical, survival chances remained high.
The buffalo knew it was no match for Solomon.
After lying on the ground for five minutes, it slowly got up, its tone dripping with irritation. “Solomon, if you’re gonna hunt, hunt us. You’re the lion king, but you’re too scared to take real prey and go after cubs.”
The buffalo’s voice was full of frustration.
Solomon, the legendary lion of the Primal Pines Plains, was larger than most male lions, yet afraid of fights, sensitive to pain, and even shy around others.
If it had just joined forces with a few other males, it could have been king of the Primal Pines Plains, but, finding the grasslands unsafe, it had moved its home into the trees.
Afraid of taking hits while hunting, it resorted to going after cubs instead, but even a single bite from a cub would send it yelping in pain.
No creature in the entire plains was as much of a coward as Solomon.
Now that Solomon was safe up in its tree, it felt invincible. It gave its long tail a lazy flick and shot a dramatic eye roll. Please, do I look like an idiot to you?”
The buffalo let out an angry snort, gave its sturdy little tail a few annoyed flicks, and hobbled back to join the herd.
”
Once the buffalo was gone, Sierra and the wildlife rescue team could clearly hear Solomon up in the tree let out a relieved

Everyone was speechless.
Wesley asked in his heavily accented Hustralian, “Is this lion really the lion king?”
Wesley had barely finished his sentence when Solomon, still clinging to its spot up in the tree, shot a look at the wildlife rescue team and the pair of cheetahs hanging around below.
Then its eyes landed on Sierra. His eyes suddenly went wide. “My human wife.”
In a split second, Solomon jumped down from the 13-foot-high tree, soared right over the crowd, and pounced on Sierra, knocking her flat on the ground.
Sophie loaded her gun.
Solomon was way too familiar with that noise; gunfire echoed across the plains all the time.
Its ears flattened at once as it shielded Sierra beneath its body, its sharp, commanding gaze fixed on Sophie and her sniper rifle.
A thunderous roar rolled across the plains. For a moment, it seemed to hang in the air, sending chills down everyone’s spine.
Just as Solomon was about to attack Sophie, Sierra quickly reached out and grabbed a handful of its thick mane.
The feral roar collapsed into panicked yelping. “That hurts.”
Sierra figured Solomon had probably been single for way too long, but she was sure he wasn’t trying to hurt them.
She said, “Solomon, we’re not going to hurt you. Come on, get off me.”
A male lion’s strength was immense. Even though Solomon had held back, Sierra’s back still burned with pain.
As soon as Solomon heard Sierra say that all its guards melted away.
It lowered its head and said, “Beautiful human, would you be my wife? I swear I’ll give you the best life out here. You eat the good parts, and I’ll eat the rest. I’ll treat you very well.”
Solomon stuck out its tongue and gave Sierra’s face a soft lick, its tail wagging like a happy dog. “My human wife, let me kiss you.”
Sierra, totally unfazed, clamped both hands around Solomon’s snout, her face showing zero emotion.
Then she hit it with a line that would absolutely break its heart. “I’m not gonna be the wife of a lion with stinky breath.”
Solomon thought, ‘What? Is my mouth stinky?’
Solomon tilted its head like a confused puppy, clearly struggling to make sense of Sierra’s words. Half a minute later, its eyes widened again, tail drooping and ears sagging.
It slid off Sierra, squatted on the ground, then lowered onto its front legs, tilting its head back as it let out a series of pitiful moans, like it had something stuck in its throat.
However, to Sierra, it sounded like Solomon was bawling in grievance, all the while stealing glances at her.
When Solomon realized Sierra was still ignoring it, even after all its dramatic crying, its heart just sank even lower.
Its eyes darted, and it nudged Sierra with its head, speaking earnestly, “My human wife, I’ll definitely stay clean from now on. It’s okay if you don’t want me. You’re gorgeous; you’d be popular with humans anyway.”
Solomon looked at Sierra with a serious expression. “Don’t worry about me. I can just stay quietly by your side. I won’t bother you.”
