Chapter 182 The Lost Cub
Sierra was totally shocked; she couldn’t believe what she just heard.
Solomon rambled on, “If I can’t be your husband, then I’ll just be your wife instead.”
Solomon nuzzled its head against Sierra’s cheek, its eyes pleading for her approval.
Wesley, standing nearby, saw Sierra’s expression darken. Remembering she was the animal tamer from Hustralia, he came over and whispered, “Sierra, what’s this lion saying?”
Sierra replied honestly, though a bit exasperated, “He’s asking me to be his wife.”
Wesley’s eyes widened. He scanned the scruffy Solomon and said, “Wow, I knew dolphins might try to pair up with humans, but lions? If this got out, the world would be shocked.”
Dolphins had long interacted with humans, which made them seek human companionship, but Solomon was entirely
different.
It was an untamed beast, and today marked its very first meeting with Sierra.
“Do lions actually fall in love with humans at first sight?” Wesley asked, still in a daze.
Solomon let out a friendly rumble. “Oh, by the way, I’m not the kind of lion who just lets anyone be my wife.”
Solomon shot a look at Sophie, who hadn’t taken her eyes off it or lowered her sniper rifle for a second.
It said, “Take this human female, for example. She tried to blow my head off the moment she saw me. There’s no way I’d ever like her.”
Solomon, either disgusted or scared, edged a bit closer to Sierra.
Sophie could tell Solomon was talking about her, and she frowned. “Is it talking bad about me?”
Solomon snapped its head toward her, looking genuinely startled that Sophie could actually understand it. It blurted out,” Me? No way. I swear.”
If Sophie didn’t have a gun, it might have tried to be defiant, but with her weapon in hand, it didn’t hesitate to apologize.
Solomon knew when to play it smart, whether it was nature taking him out or a bullet today.
Sierra hesitated for a moment as she looked at Solomon, but then switched gears, remembering the missing cheetah cub. ” Solomon, I can be your friend, but I can’t be your wife. We’re here to find the young cheetah you took.”
Sierra’s tone was gentle, her gaze clear, and Solomon instantly fell for her.
Sierra kept laying on the charm. “Solomon, you’re so mighty and courageous, and honestly the kindest, most handsome lion on the whole plain. Could you tell me where you left the cheetah cub?”
Solomon thought, ‘See? She clearly likes me. Isn’t being friends the same as being a wife?’
Solomon rose to its feet, its eyes sparkling as it gazed at Sierra. It nudged her continuously with its head, eager to leave its scent all over her.
As for the young cheetah, Solomon looked down, clearly feeling guilty.
Sarah and Bonnie fidgeted anxiously nearby.
Sarah crouched down. It knew it was no match for the lion, so it tried its best to sound gentle. “Solomon, if you just tell me where my kid is, I’ll help you hunt. From now on, I’ll share half my food with you.”
Solomon bore the title of lion king, yet lacked the temper of one. He feared pain and death, hunting only when utterly starving.
Sarah’s offer was seriously tempting for Solomon.
Solomon’s eyes lit up with a hint of cunning as it said, “Okay, come with me.”
After walking a couple of steps, Solomon turned to Sierra seriously. “My human wife, I’ll carry you over.”
Sierra snapped, “Don’t call me that.”
Solomon felt a bit hurt by Sierra’s cold response, lowering its head. “Okay.”
Solomon kept an eye on Sierra as it moved, noticing she was fairly forgiving. At least she wasn’t smacking it as other lionesses would.

Chapter 182 The Lost Cub
Compared to them, Solomon felt like it was living the dream.
It thought, ‘She’s nice. She only tells me to shut up, that’s all.’
Solomon was so pleased with itself, its tail was sticking straight up as it swaggered along, head held high, its chunky paws. bouncing with every step.
After walking roughly 1000 feet, they reached a patch of lush, waist-high bushes.
Solomon stopped in front of the bushes and rumbled in its throat, as if it was calling someone out. “Bellamy, come out. Your mom is here.”
After a gust of wind blew through, the bushes stayed perfectly still.
Solomon sniffed the air; the scent of the cub it caught filled the surroundings. Yet after calling for a long while, there was not a stir in the bushes.
Solomon cocked its head, then shoved it deep into the bushes, its butt sticking up in the air for everyone to see.
It pressed its face to the ground, peeking this way and that, but the den it dug for Bellamy a couple of days ago was quiet, not a trace of the cub anywhere.
It thought, ‘Oh no, I really lost the kid.’
