Chapter 184 The Poachers
Solomon had learned how to please humans just for food.
Sierra saw the way Solomon was staring her down and knew that if that lamb didn’t end up in its mouth, it would be bugging them about it all night.
Therefore, she asked Ethan to pass the lamb over to Solomon..
Lions needed tens of pounds of meat per meal; a single lamb leg was nothing for Solomon.
However, Solomon hadn’t tasted lamb in ages, and this rare treat was something it had been dreaming about for a whole. month.
Solomon wolfed it down in seconds, not even leaving a single bone behind.
After a satisfied burp, Solomon finally chimed in, “I’ll go with you to find Bellamy. That kid can’t die. I need it to bring me food in the future.”
Solomon’s face fell, and it started looking more and more worried, like it was already stressed about retirement.
With the birds and Solomon out searching, Sierra got word fast.
An egret came fluttering over from atop an elephant, chirping excitedly, “I saw the little cheetah today. It was hunting a young jackal, but about an hour ago, several human vehicles showed up..
“They used their weapons to knock it out and put it in the car.”
As soon as the egret said this, everyone looked shocked.
Almost as if on cue, they scrambled back into the car.
With Solomon joining them, the car instantly felt way more cramped.
The space was tight, and Solomon’s stench was overpowering.
The little cheetah wrinkled its nose, then puked up the food it hadn’t even finished digesting from breakfast. Licking its lips, it cocked its head and said, “Solomon smells awful. Can we just kick it out?”
Solomon rolled its eyes, thinking, ‘Does this little brat think I wouldn’t dare deal with it just because its mom and aunt are here?’
However, when it turned and saw Sierra looking a bit pale, it instinctively lowered it’s head and sniffed itself, suddenly starting to wonder if it was true.
Solomon thought, ‘No way. I rolled in a buffalo mud pit yesterday, and I drink tons of water every day. I should smell good. Humans should like me.’
Solomon glanced at everyone’s awkward faces, then sniffed the air, just to check if something was definitely wrong.
It stared at its own paws, bent down, and took a dramatic whiff.
A minute later, Solomon curled up in the trunk, stretching its feet as far away as possible, its scrunched-up face looking absolutely appalled.

The orange extended Jeep tore across the dirt road of the plain.
Up above, hundreds of birds of all kinds formed a messenger network, constantly feeding updates to Sierra. “Sierra, they’re about to leave the reserve.
“Sierra, those human vehicles have seven or eight cheetahs and lions inside.”
Sierra was busy relaying the birds’ intel to Ethan while frantically calling the Primal Pines Reserve.
Her report immediately put the higher-ups at Primal Pines on high alert, and within minutes, a helicopter was scrambled.
Sierra hung up, her heart pounding with urgency.
With the birds leading the way, Ethan cut across a shortcut.
In less than half an hour, Sierra and the crew saw seven or eight jeeps parked out on the plain.
A dozen poachers had their rifles aimed right at a rhinoceros.
Wesley hopped out of the car, eyes going wide Successfully unlocked! chers. He was so worked up that he nearly
jumped out of his skin. “Sierra, it’s them. I’d never gut R ONS
Sierra’s gaze darkened slightly.

Just then, those fake “research team” guys saw Sierra in the distance.
The old guy leading them and Sierra stared each other down from across the field.
Sierra squinted under the blazing sun and called back over her shoulder, “Alright, guys, looks like we’ve run into some real tough customers today. Grab your weapons.”

Ethan and the others rushed to the car, yanking out their rifles.
Wesley looked down at his bare hands, feeling like the odd one out. He thought, ‘Come on, am I really the only one who didn’t bring real weapons? I’ve just got a tranquilizer.’
Wesley quietly shuffled behind the group, hoping nobody would notice him.
Still feeling unsafe, he ducked behind the car to avoid getting hit if shooting started.
However, as he backed up a couple of steps, he suddenly tripped and went sprawling face-first into the dirt.
When he looked down, he saw Solomon with its butt sticking up, frantically trying to crawl all the way under the car.
Wesley called out, “Hey, buddy.”
Wesley grabbed Solomon by the scruff and said, “You’re built like a tank. Aren’t you going to help? How does a lion king end up this scared?”
Solomon shook off Wesley’s hand and roared, “You know nothing. I know these people, especially that pale-faced guy. He’s the one who snatched me when I was just a cub.”
Wesley paused, unease flashing through his mind, but there was no time to think. Gunfire erupted from the other side without warning.
“Sierra, Ethan, don’t just stand there. You can’t win. There are way too many of them,” someone yelled, his voice cracking with panic..
However, before he could finish, Wesley watched in disbelief as four Hustralians instantly raised their rifles and fired back, not even flinching.
Screams came from the other side. Wesley couldn’t help looking up, then gasped.
He thought, ‘Isn’t Hustralia supposed to be a gun-free country? Why are these people firing like it’s nothing?’
The other side caught on as well.
Carlos and his crew ducked behind their cars, suddenly realizing that the group 1000 feet away was way more dangerous than they’d bargained for.
And for some reason, every time they fired, the birds overhead would go wild, swooping down in a frenzy and attacking them.
Among the dozen of them, some were shot down, and the rest had their faces scratched up badly.
Someone said, “Boss, with all these birds swarming us, there’s no way we can hit those Valorians. Maybe we should pull
out.”
Carlos snapped, “How the hell are we supposed to get out of here? Those guys are clearly gunning for us. They want us dead.”
Carlos muttered a curse, his eyes darting over to his own vehicle. He shot a look at one of his men and barked, “Go release them. I want those Valorians wiped out.”
The guy Carlos pointed at paused for a moment, then a sly grin crept across his face.
He slunk over to the car, crouched low, and swung the door wide open.
The next second, several cheetahs burst out of a black car like bolts of lightning, while two lions and a lioness leapt out of another car.
Sierra instantly felt a chill running down her spine.
The cheetahs and lions were staring with pure killing intent, their fur crusted with drying blood. That look suggested they’d killed more than just prey, maybe even people.
Sierra took a deep breath and raised her hand, signaling the wildlife rescue team to stop.
Carlos saw this and burst into a smug grin behind his glasses. “Face it, Valorians. You can’t stop us.”
Sierra and her crew didn’t say a word.
For a moment, both sides were locked in a tense standoff.
Carlos had no clue exactly how much firepower Sierra’s group still had, while Sierra fixed her gaze on the unnervingly

obedient cheetahs and lions gathered around Carlos.
“Sierra, so what are we gonna do now?” Ethan asked.
Sierra said, “We wait.”
Ethan and Mark exchanged glances, both looking a little lost and unsure what she meant.
Half a minute later, a loud roaring sound came from above.
Everyone glanced up; the helicopter Sierra had called earlier was arriving.
It finally clicked for Ethan and Mark, and they shot Sierra a thumbs-up.
Sierra had been timing the helicopter’s arrival all along, doing everything she could to stall until it showed up.
If those poachers hadn’t chickened out, they would have been flat on the ground ages ago.
Sierra curled her lips into a smile and raised her middle finger at Carlos from afar. “You’re done.”
