Beast Tamer's Rebirth National Treasure Edition novel Chapter 187

Chapter 187 Seeking Justice

Animals might look similar, but when one spent time with them, he could distinguish those with similar builds and

appearances.

The lion in the photo looked about seventy percent like Solomon because its body, fur, and even the mane on its chin were identical.

The only difference was a deep scar on its left eye, and its gaze was far fiercer than Solomon’s.

Sierra pulled out the photo and placed it on the table. “Do you know the name of this lion?”

The officer glanced at the photo, then quickly started flipping through their stack of investigation files.

He said, “This lion was the alpha male of Wolfsbane Reserve. It didn’t have a name. We tried to find out what happened to it, but found nothing. Carlos’s crew said that a lioness was taken down alongside it.”

Sierra frowned when she heard that.

Seeing Sierra looking thoughtful, the officer assumed she might have a clue and asked, “Ms. Sierra Sterling, did you notice something?”

Sierra shook her head. “I just need a moment to think things through.”

By the time the wildlife rescue team finished giving their statements and came out, Carlos was being led out of the interrogation room in handcuffs.

When Carlos saw Sierra, his eyes flashed with hatred. He hurled cruel curses in his language, but Sierra just ignored him.

Carlos got even more unhinged. “You bastards. When I get out, I’ll kill every one of you.”

Timothy’s temper flared. “Do you want to get hit?”

Carlos sneered, “Let me tell you something. This is Kenland, but I’m Silvanian. Their laws won’t really hold me accountable. I’ll be out in two years, tops. As for you guys-”

Carlos scanned everyone with a nasty look, stopping briefly on Sophie and Sierra.

Before he could spit out another word, his face snapped violently to the side, as if struck by a sudden force.

Carlos was dumbstruck.

Just as he turned his head, he caught another slap right across the face.

Sophie shook out her hand. “Shut up. Hustralians never forgive. The law here might not touch you, but if you pull this in our country”

Sophie shot him a cold look. “I’ll make sure you pay.”

Carlos was left completely stunned.

By the time he snapped out of it, he heard the Hustralians gathered around Sierra. They said, “Sierra, the way he looked at us makes me uncomfortable. Let’s get some fresh air later.”

Sophie rolled her eyes. “You’d better head back to the hotel and get some rest.”

One of them said, “Seriously, it’s all Solomon’s fault. How can a lion be this smelly? Sarah and Bonnie don’t smell like this at all.”

Sierra said, “Solomon was never raised by a lioness, so he doesn’t know how to groom himself. Don’t be so harsh on him. Let’s check outside for medicine; if there’s none, iodine will do.”

After slapping Carlos around, the wildlife rescue team left without looking at him.

Carlos was left standing there, dumbfounded and ignored, just staring at them. “Are you even listening to me?”

Being completely ignored, Carlos couldn’t handle it.

Sierra rolled her eyes and turned to the officer holding Carlos. “Şir, did you hear someone barking?”

The officer, not quite getting the Hustralian humor, glanced around and shook his head. “No, I didn’t hear anything.”

Sierra jerked her chin toward Carlos. “Isn’t that barking pretty loud?”

Carlos exploded, “Did you just call me a dog? I’ll make you pay for that.”

Timothy snickered. “See? He’s really going off

Successfully unlocked!

The police watched the exchange, and Carlos, ut sin Gutted out from anger.

In the end, the officer struggled not to laugh as he hauled Carlos away.

After leaving the police station, everyone from the wildlife rescue tearn finally felt much better.

Laws differed from country to country, and regulations protecting wildlife varied. Yet despite differences in wording, they all aimed to protect animals and prevent their loss.

Thus, Carlos’s claim that the law couldn’t touch him was utter nonsense.

He was about to get nailed by the law in both countries.

“The Kenland and Silvania police will take it from here. It’s probably best if we don’t get too involved anymore. Should we head back?” Ethan asked, glancing at Sierra.

Just then, a shaft of sunlight pierced through the trees, falling on Sierra’s face, casting a shadow over her expression. Ethan and the others all waited for Sierra’s answer.

Finally, Sierra looked around at the team and pulled out the photo the police had given her earlier.

It was a lion that looked exactly like Solomon.

Sierra looked at everyone, her voice a little helpless. “Guys, we should go back and ask Solomon about this lion in the photo. I think they know each other.”

Three hours later, the crew headed back from Nairbily to Primal Pines.

Sierra didn’t forget to bring medicine for Solomon; she also brought him food and gifts for Sarah and Bonnie’s cubs.

As soon as Sierra stepped into their turf, they came bounding over, hopping and leaping with excitement.

Solomon instantly pawed at the car window, shoved its head inside, and scanned the seats. Spotting Sierra in the middle of the back row, it stretched up on its tiptoes, trying to wedge itself inside.

Of course, it got stuck halfway through the window.

Solomon cocked its head, locking eyes with Sierra, its gaze sharp and clever.

In the end, Solomon played along, and with everyone working together, they managed to haul it out of the window.

Solomon cried out miserably, and some passing tourists thought Sierra’s group was poachers. They came over with guns, almost firing.

After a whole lot of frantic explaining, two Silvanian tourists suddenly recognized Sierra as that Hustralian girl who’d been all over Twitter these days.

The moment they realized who she was, they instantly started fangirling and begged for her autograph.

Once they got her signature, everything was smoothed over.

Solomon knew it had screwed up. Feeling totally guilty, it sprawled out on the ground, keeping its mouth shut and not daring to make a peep.

Once the tourists were gone, Sierra stood over it, hands on her hips, staring it down with that stern look.

Solomon whined, “My human wife, I’m sorry. Please don’t be mad at me.”

Sierra didn’t say a word.

Solomon instantly started bawling. “I really didn’t mean it. I could squeeze half my body in the car before. I didn’t know why I failed this time.”

Sierra’s mouth twitched.

She hadn’t been angry at all; her silence earlier was just because she didn’t know how to speak to Solomon.

Unexpectedly, it frightened itself to tears.

Sierra gave Solomon’s head a gentle pat, then checked out the wound on its paw.

The wound had already scabbed over, and Sierra finally relaxed. Wild animals were survivors; their immune systems were naturally strong.

Another reason was that the animals they saw were just lucky survivors.

Honestly, without hurnans stepping in, a small scratch could easily be deadly for these animals.

Sierra said, “Solornon, I’m not mad about this at all. I was just wondering if I should ask you something.”

Solomon tilted his head, bearing. “I’ll tell you everything I know.”

Sierra realized there was no use trying to correct it anymore, so she just gave up and rolled with it.

Sierra showed Solomon the photo. “Solomon, do you know this lion?”

Solomon cocked its head for a closer look, then its eyes went wide with shock. “That’s my dad. He’s been gone for many years. Is this what you humans call a photograph? Can I keep it?”

Solomon was thrilled. “You know, I’ve never had my dad around since I was little.”

Even though Solomon didn’t sound sad at all, Sierra felt a pang in her chest.

Along the way, she had vague suspicions in her mind, but those guesses were like scattered shards that refused to fit together.

Solomon’s words acted like glue, and the shattered mirror in her mind was slowly coming back together.

Sierra’s throat tightened as she stared at Solomon, her gaze full of worry and hesitation. “So, is your father-”

“Humans took my whole family away,” Solomon replied. When it saw Sierra’s face turn ghostly pale, it couldn’t help but ask, ” Sierra, did I freak you out?”

Sierra shook her head and gently patted Solomon’s back. “Just tell me everything you remember.”

She had to fight for justice for these animals.
