Chapter 234 Back To Tiger Haven
Elliot had his own unique logic, Sierra couldn’t really figure him out, but she didn’t dislike it.
Actually, every time she hung out with him, she felt totally relaxed.
She gave a small, tight-lipped smile. With Elliot showing up, all that heaviness she’d been carrying around these days suddenly felt a lot lighter.
Sierra asked, “Were you worried about me? Is that why you came?”
That question made Elliot blush hard.
Elliot squirmed, clearly embarrassed. He stammered, “N-No. It’s not that. I was worried about Sophie!”
Sophie stared, speechless.
Sierra couldn’t help but laugh, but she quickly got serious again. She said, “Elliot, you don’t have to worry about us. We’re safe for now.”
Elliot said, “I flew in on my private jet. Sierra, why don’t you come home with me? Seriously, it’s nothing. My family’s got your back.”
Sierra shook her head and said, “We have to figure out what’s really going on at Tiger Haven. If we don’t, more tigers will end up suffering.”
Elliot knew Sierra’s decisions were set in stone. There was no changing her mind.
So he asked, “Sierra, anything I can do for you?”
Sierra was about to tell Elliot to head back, but then an idea popped into her head. She sized him up and said, “Actually, there is one thing you might be able to help with.”
Elliot immediately puffed out his chest, ready to go.
Sierra leaned in and whispered something in his ear.
Elliot felt Sierra’s warm breath tickle his ear, making his fingers curl up against his suit pants.
Once Sierra finished, Elliot grinned and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll handle it for you. Consider it done!”
Sophie gave a quick cough.
Elliot realized he’d let his accent slip out, shot Sophie a grateful look, then instantly switched to his CEO mode. He stood up, straightened his suit and tie, and said, “Sierra, relax. Three days, tops. Whatever you need, I’ll deliver.”
Elliot was lightning-fast at getting things done.
He didn’t even need three days. The very next morning, he sneaked over and knocked softly on the door to their room. Elliot walked in, took a big gulp of water, and handed Sierra a small USB stick
“Got what you wanted, Sierra,” he said.
Wesley sat on the couch, eyeing the USB stick Elliot handed to Sierra with obvious curiosity. “What’s that?” Wesley asked. “All of Lucas’s phone data,” Elliot replied.
Everyone’s eyes went wide in disbelief as they stared at Sierra and Elliot,
Timothy blurted out, “Holy crap! Damn, Mr. Paterson, you’re insane. How’d you even get your hands on something this big?” Elliot said, “Please, that’s nothing. Just like with the bear farm before. If you’ve got the cash, there’s nothing you can’t pull off.”
Timothy blinked, a little stunned. He asked, “Wait, don’t tell me you went undercover as an investor again?”
Elliot grinned and said, “Pretty much. But this time, I really had to dig deep. I dropped 30 million.”
For Elliot, that was pocket change, but for Tiger Haven, 30 million was a fortune.
Elliot explained, “I had my brother reach out to the people at Tiger Haven back home. We pitched them on having their tigers serve as the global face of Paterson Group and offered 30 million in investment.
“In return, we’d get 40% of the profits. It’s a win-win for both sides. Lucas’s super cautious, but he’s all about the money.
“I took them out to dinner to lower their guard, and while we were exchanging contact info, I quietly transferred all their phone data onto the USB. I wanted to grab the whole later Warto get the chance.

“Sierra, check if there’s anything useful on the phone!
Sierra nodded,

She turned to Ryan and asked, “Ryan, can you take a look at the data?”
Ryan nodded.
He was a computer whiz. Most people couldn’t just hack into sites and break down data like that, but for him, it was a breeze.
Soon, Ryan handed Sierra the results of his analysis.
The data was overwhelming: so much information, it was hard to keep track.
Ten minutes later, Sierra’s fingers suddenly froze on the laptop’s touchpad.
On every social media account Lucas had, he was following someone with the same profile picture.
The person’s name was Carlos.
Sierra thought, ‘Carlos Parker?
‘Isn’t he that guy from Kenland, the one behind those human experiments?
‘Wait, Lucas and Carlos Parker are actually connected?’
“What’s wrong?” Elliot asked, noticing the look on Sierra’s face.
Sierra replied, “Guys, I just stumbled onto something crazy.”
She slid the laptop over to the group and said, “Remember Carlos Parker from Primal Pines? Turns out Lucas actually knows him, and their messages are seriously weird.”
Everyone crowded around, eager to see what was going on in those chat logs.
Sierra continued, “And remember that circus owner Solomon took out? We hustled him for 300 thousand bucks, and he said he was calling his boss. Back then, we thought that boss was Carlos Parker, but turns out he’s not the one pulling the strings.”
After everyone finished reading the chat logs, it was clear that before things went south for Carlos Parker, he and Lucas had a ton of conversations about Tiger Haven.
Carlos Parker had been the one supplying Lucas with tigers all along.
In the messages, Carlos Parker even warned Lucas to take it easy lately; smuggling tigers in was getting way too risky.
He also said if Lucas kept pushing it, the big boss was going to get pissed.
Reading those chat logs and hearing Sierra’s analysis, everyone broke out in a cold sweat.
Ethan suggested, “Should we report this to the Thalasia cops?”
Sierra said, “Not yet. We still don’t have the most important evidence.”
She pointed at Kiki and said, “What we really need to figure out is what Lucas did to make these tigers so docile. If all we’ve got are those video chats, Lucas could easily wriggle out of any questioning from the Thalasia cops.”
“So what do we do now?” Timothy asked, giving Kiki a gentle pat on the head.
Kiki had been living the good life for the past month: downing a whole bowl of milk every day and some minced meat, as he’ d never tasted meat in his life.
He was eating them out of house and home, almost blowing through all their leftover cash.
Timothy joked, “If we keep waiting, we’ll have no choice but to sell Kiki.”
As soon as Kiki heard his name, his amber eyes went wide in disbelief. He glared at Timothy and grumbled, “Are you crazy?”
It thought, ‘Why would anyone want to sell someone as adorable and well-behaved as me?
‘Honestly, if anyone should be sold, it ought to be Timothy.’
With a dramatic little snort, Kiki scampered off to find Sierra.
Sierra glanced up at the fading light and said, “Tonight’s the night.”

e suspects hiding out in the countryside, out of reach, the cops couldn’t keep an eye on them forever.
The officers who had been posted there were pulled back, and Tiger Haven went back to its usual peace and quiet. The group split up into three directions.
Timothy and Alex stayed in the car, ready to back everyone up. Elliot went to meet Lucas and sign the contract, while Wesley and the rest of the crew once again quietly slipped back into the haven.
Having learned from their last experience, Sophie took the lead this time, making sure they avoided any surveillance cameras along the way. They crouched in a pitch-dark spot, waiting in silence.
Meanwhile, Elliot was still in Lucas’s room, negotiating with him.
Sophie said, “I’ll go check if the tigers are still in the barn. If they are, I’ll record some video as evidence.”
Sophie was a pro at staying off the radar, so she was the perfect person to go gather intel.
Sierra nodded and said, “Sophie, be careful.”
Kiki at Sierra’s feet pawed at Sophie’s leg and let out a soft whine. It said, “Let me go with you! I want to save them!”
These tigers had watched Kiki grow up. Even though they didn’t talk much, they were all really good tigers.
Kiki just couldn’t stand to see them suffer any longer.
Sierra said to Sophie, “Kiki wants to go with you, Sophie. Take it along. It might be small, but it can take care of itself. If the tigers aren’t in the barn, it can help you find them somewhere else.”
Kiki said, “I can smell them! My friends are close by!”
Sophie nodded.
Sophie and Kiki crept along the shadowy lawn, keeping low as they made their way to the barn.
Sure enough, all the tigers from Tiger Haven were huddled inside the barn.
When Sophie saw this, rage boiled up inside her, too strong for words.
Every tiger was shackled: paws, necks, everything. And they weren’t just sleeping, they were totally knocked out, dead to the world.
Sophie shot a quick video, then headed back to Sierra’s hideout with Kiki in tow.
Sierra whispered, “How’d it go?”
“Something’s really off,” Sophie said.
She filled Sierra in on what she’d just witnessed.
Sierra frowned, crouched down, and whispered, “Kiki, are your friends always like this at night?”
Kiki nodded.
Back before she met Sierra, Kiki never thought there was anything weird about its friends.
But now, seeing how serious Sierra looked, Kiki started to feel uneasy.
Kiki said softly, “Yeah, except for the four cubs born at Tiger Haven, every tiger is totally silent at night. Is that weird?”
Kiki wanted to ask more, but it was scared a keeper might suddenly show up and bust them.
Its voice was trembling, almost about to cry.
Sierra quickly comforted it, “We’ll fix this, okay? Don’t worry.”
Once Sierra finished speaking, she, Sophie, Ethan, and the rest of the crew traded glances. “Let’s hold off for now,” she said.
By now, Elliot had already finished signing the contract with Lucas.
Lucas watched as the 30 million dollars hit his account in an instant, and any last bit of doubt he had just melted away.
As Elliot left with his bodyguards, Lucas even give

“Still no sign of Sierra?” Lucas asked the keeper beside him.

The keeper immediately lowered his head and stammered, “N-no, sir.”
“What the hell are the Thalasian police even doing? Can’t even catch one person!” Lucas snapped.
The keeper didn’t dare say a word.
Lucas took a deep breath and headed toward the room in the backyard.
Just as Sierra got Elliot’s message, Lucas popped up out of nowhere.
The crew instantly melted into the shadows.
From the shadows, Sierra watched as Lucas stood in the corridor outside the room. His usual look of compassion was gone. Now, he looked like a demon straight out of hell, snapping at the keepers.
Soon, seven or eight keepers dragged out a box from a locked room and made their way to the barn.
Suddenly, thick, long syringes appeared before Sierra and the crew.
In that moment, Sierra finally got it: this was why all the tigers always seemed so spaced out and drained.
Sierra realized, ‘Those drugs are probably all tranquilizers.
‘No wonder the tigers are so sluggish during the day, just lying there and letting tourists pet them, barely even moving.
‘At night, to make things easier, they’d knock all the tigers out with sleeping drugs so the tigers would be totally out cold and couldn’t stir up any trouble.’
But what really shocked Sierra was what happened next. The keepers dragged out an entire cart piled with crappy, low- grade dog and cat food from that locked room and started dumping it out for the tigers to eat.
Turns out, the tigers at Tiger Haven had been fed nothing but this garbage all along.
Sierra and her crew stayed hidden in the shadows, and their night-vision mini-cameras caught every detail.
Just as the sun was about to rise, the keepers who’d been giving the tigers their shots and dumping out food shuffled out
of the barn, cursing under their breath. They gave a big stretch and dragged themselves back to the room.
With an hour left before Tiger Haven opened, the keepers were off to grab a quick nap.
Sierra didn’t understand a word of Thalasian, but from the way the keepers and Lucas snapped and complained, it was clear life was anything but good for those tigers.
With dawn breaking and the keepers finally gone, Sierra and the crew made their way to the locked room.
way
It was a local Thalasian-style building, and Sierra peered through the gaps in the wooden walls, squinting to catch a glimpse inside.
But as soon as she saw what was inside, her face turned deathly pale.
Sierra’s lips quivered as she silently stepped aside, wordlessly letting Sophie take a look herself.
Sophie leaned in and peered through the crack in the door.
Just one glance and Sophie shot upright, practically growling through clenched teeth, “These bastards!”
The warehouse was massive, easily the size of a basketball court. Discarded syringes were piled up along the edges, and
in the center and all around, glass display cases were set up like some twisted museum.
It was like a grotesque exhibition. Tiger skins were hung from the rafters, and inside the glass cases were tiger teeth of all sizes, along with severed heads and limbs.
All around, jars and bottles were stuffed with animal organs, soaking in formaldehyde.
Sierra thought, ‘Bastards? That’s too kind. They’re monsters. Absolute animals!’
Sierra checked the time. There were only forty minutes left before the place opened to visitors.
She glanced at the tigers huddled in the barn, then at the tiger corpses turned into exhibits, their age impossible to tell. Disgust and a deep, chilling darkness flickered in her eyes.
She muttered, “What goes around comes around. It’s time Lucas pays for what he’s done.”
Everyone turned to look at her.
Sierra stared at the padlock on the door, not bothering to explain herself. She just asked, “Sophie, can you crack the door open?”
Sophie replied, “I’ll give it a shot.”
Wesley’s eyes widened in shock. He asked, “Sierra, are you seriously planning to let all the tourists see this?”
Sierra turned her head, a faint smile playing on her lips. She said, “Lucas used the internet to put us on the run. Why can’t
