Chapter 237 Darknet Animal Hub
Lucas stared at Sierra and shouted, “Shut up! Just shut up!”
As Lucas struggled to figure out where things had gone wrong, his gaze suddenly landed on Elliot in the crowd, watching with that look like he was enjoying a drama unfold.
In that moment, Lucas seemed to get it, and fear flashed across his face.
He pointed at Elliot in the crowd and stammered, “You….
“Aren’t you the Patersons’ heir? Why?”
Elliot stepped forward with a resigned look and said, “Mr. Terrell, there’s something you seem to be missing.”
A smirk played on Elliot’s lips, his expression just like Sierra’s.
He continued, “I only gave you half my intro before, so let me lay it all out: Sophie is my brother’s wife. And Sierra is not just a close friend, she’s family to us Patersons.
“So, all your scheming? You’ve been messing with the Paterson Group. Tell me, do you really think I’d just swallow that?”
Lucas’s mind was already a mess.
After hearing Elliot’s explanation, his mind went totally blank, like someone had just yanked all his thoughts right out of his head.
Sierra added, “People online are all confused about why my friends and I ended up wanted by the police. Well, it all goes back to the tiger pelts behind me.”
“No!” Lucas shouted, reaching out desperately to stop her.
But Sierra and the others had already quietly stepped aside, so that everyone, whether they were watching the stream back in Hustralia or standing right here, tourists and cops alike, could get a good look at what was inside the room.
The chat erupted in an uproar.
One commented: [Oh my god, there are so many tiger pelts in that room!]
Another commented: [Damn, how did Sierra even find all this? With so many tiger pelts, why are the Thalasia cops chasing Lucas and Sierra instead of dealing with the real problem?]
Someone commented: [Holy crap, Sierra really was innocent!]
One commented: [Wait, I remember someone online saying the tigers at Tiger Haven seemed weird. They were supposed to be the same ones, but when people went back the next year, the tigers looked totally different!]
Another commented: [So they really were pulling a switch!]
Someone commented: [Holy crap, this is a huge secret! But who was that Carlos Sierra mentioned earlier?]
A comment read: [That’s the psycho behind the trapped-animal experiments. Solomon is the only survivor!]
One commented: [Solomon isn’t the only survivor. Sierra brought those hypnotized lions and cheetahs back to Hustralia, but it was a total failure. They’re way too dangerous, so nobody’s ever gotten to see them up close!]
Another commented: [It’s hard to believe stuff like this actually happens. I always thought the tigers were supposed to save Lucas, but it turns out Lucas was the one killing them. Where’s the mercy in a place like Tiger Haven? It’s basically a living hell!]
Meanwhile, the Hustralia task force had been camped out at the border, watching everything unfold. With international stakes this high, they couldn’t risk making a wrong move, so they just waited for the official go-ahead.
The moment Sierra made her move that night, the task force finally got approval back home, then cleared international checks, and rolled right into Thalasia.
Right in the middle of Sierra’s livestream, more than a hundred cops from Hustralia and the Thalasia capital police burst onto the scene together.
In no time, every keeper at the scene was rounded up and arrested.
Lucas was shouting at the top of his lungs, “What are you all doing? Sierra is setting me up! You should be chasing her, not
me.”

But before he could even finish, the Thalasia c
The lead cop said, “Before we even got here, the rustrana ponce had an eauy handed us all the evidence and videos. Now the whole place is stuffed with animal pelts right in front of us. What else do you have to say for yourself?”

Chapter 237 Darknet Animal Hub
The Thalasia cops were all talking at once, but Sierra couldn’t understand a word.
Once all the keepers and the people in charge at Tiger Haven were taken away, Sierra turned to the Hustralia police and said, “Thank you for your hard work. I’m really glad you made it in time.”
The lead officer from Hustralia replied, “No, we’re the ones who should apologize for arriving late. You’ve been through so much, Ms. Sierra Sterling.”
Sierra’s case had a dedicated team, so the officer was well aware of her skills and the pressure she’d been under this past
month.
Getting the two countries to cooperate wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.
Especially since they had to bring the military into Thalasia, which made everything a hundred times harder.
Luckily, Sierra knew how to roll with the punches, so nothing major went wrong.
Sierra was hell-bent on making this a global scandal. She wanted everyone to see the true horrors hidden inside Tiger Haven.
And in the end, she pulled it off.
Sierra followed the police from both countries to the central police station, where she was questioned and gave her full account. She laid it all out for the cops, holding nothing back.
At Tiger Haven, the police uncovered over a hundred tiger pelts, hundreds of glass jars packed with tiger organs, and tiger teeth numbering in the thousands.
At this point, Lucas had no choice but to come clean about everything.
He didn’t even have a fancy overseas degree. Back in the early 2000s, Thalasia’s economy was already catching up to where Hustralia was now. But with his family flat broke, Lucas had to drop out and start working just to keep everyone fed.
His luck was rotten. Thalasia’s economy suddenly froze, then went downhill fast plunging the country into crisis. With only a middle school diploma, Lucas couldn’t land a job anywhere.
Instead of getting his family on their feet, he just sank deeper and deeper into debt.
All that bottled-up frustration twisted him up inside, and that’s when he started abusing cats and dogs.
But even that couldn’t satisfy him anymore.
Then one day, he found his way into a site called the Darknet Animal Hub. People from all over the world gathered there; some were just as down and out as he was, and others were pure evil.
The site was packed with hundreds of thousands of videos showing cats and dogs being abused, and some users even posted bounties, offering cash rewards for every animal they killed in brutal ways.
Lucas started chasing those bounties, and after eight years of this, his life finally got a little better, thanks to all that blood
money.
He was so active on the Darknet Animal Hub, logging in every day for 8 years, that his account became one of the top 10 most highly ranked on the entire platform.
The police from both countries, working together on the case, were stunned when they heard Lucas’s confession.
They thought, ‘Wait, the Darknet Animal Hub again?’
“So you’re saying this site actually posts bounties for people to abuse cats and dogs?” one of the cops asked, disbelief written all over his face.
“Yeah,” Lucas mumbled, his head hanging low. Now that he was caught, he had no idea how many years he’d get. He figured maybe if he came clean, he could get a lighter sentence.
He was still young, and after making so much money all these years, he was desperate to get out and live his life again.
Lucas said, “Most of the animal abuse you see worldwide? It all comes from the Darknet Animal Hub.”
The police quickly tracked down the Darknet Animal Hub Lucas was talking about.
But when they tried to log in, their regular accounts were completely locked out.
Lucas said, “You can’t just sign up and get in. There are requirements and a vetting process before you’re allowed access.”
“What kind of requirements?” the cop pressed.
Lucas replied, “You have to torture and kill a cat or a dog. First, burn their fur off, then stick needles into their bodies, one after another, and finally drown them.”
Lucas looked up, scanning the faces of the cops and Sierra before speaking, “That’s the basic entry requirement for the

through hell and high water to save all kinds of animals, but how could one person possibly stand up to the brutality of a whole mob?”
Lucas caught what the Hustralian cop sald and let out a mocking laugh. He sneered, “Me? A scumbag and an animal? What about all those people who bullied me before? It’s not like I killed anyone, just a few animals. Why are you all losing your minds over this?”
“You’re showing no respect for life! You just want to put yourself above the law!” the cop shot back.
The way he abused cats and dogs was downright brutal, but Lucas still acted like it was nothing.
Deep down, he had no idea just how much blood was on his hands.
The Hustralian cop pressed, “So what made you start making up those stories and set up Tiger Haven?”
Lucas answered honestly, “It was the founder of the Darknet Animal Hub. My account was really active, so he made me his
agent.”
The Hustralian cop immediately remembered what Sierra had told him before: Carlos and Lucas go way back.
“So Carlos was one of the agents for the Darknet Animal Hub, too?” the cop asked.
“Yeah,” Lucas replied.
Now the Hustralian cop finally got why Sierra got spotted so fast.
Back then, the whole drama between Carlos and Sierra blew up big time in Kenland. Since Lucas and Carlos already knew each other, the moment Lucas laid eyes on Sierra, he was already scheming against her.
The police would have to investigate the Darknet Animal Hub later.
Lucas was a serious danger to society, but his fate would be decided by local laws and the court’s ruling. Sierra and the others had no say.
The Thalasian police managed to rescue the tigers, but Sierra couldn’t take them back to Hustralia. So she checked out a few more places around Thalasia and ended up choosing a zoo with a solid reputation.
The police had no problem with such a small request.
Before Sierra left, the head of the Thalasian police said, “Ms. Sierra Sterling, we’re really lucky you got involved with the Tiger Haven case.
“Without you, we never would’ve uncovered this bombshell. If you hadn’t stepped in, this secret might’ve stayed hidden forever.
“The Thalasian police sincerely apologize, and we’re also sorry for how the local cops issued a warrant for you before even looking into things. Don’t worry, we won’t let any shady stuff slide.”
Sierra replied, “No worries, but could you guys post the full story on social media? Otherwise, some people won’t see it and will keep calling me a wanted criminal.
“If the police put it out there, I’ll finally be able to clap back at those trolls, right?”
Her teasing comment made the cop laugh, and he quickly nodded, promising he’d make sure it got done.
As she was leaving, Sierra asked for a copy of the files from Lucas’s computer.
Once the Tiger Haven case was settled, Sierra and her crew headed back to Hustralia.
As soon as they landed, Thomas, Henry, and a whole bunch of bigwigs were waiting at the entrance of WonderWild Zoo. The moment Sierra and her crew climbed out of the car, everyone grabbed handfuls of salt and tossed a pinch over each shoulder, then fanned them with fresh pine boughs.
Thomas even lit a small bonfire so they could hop across the flames and leave the bad luck behind.
Even though the crew thought the bigwigs were being a little dramatic, they all went along with it anyway.
Henry looked emotional. He said, “Sierra, you guys really had it rough.”
He thought, ‘They must have been through a lo Successfully unlocked!
gitives.’
Timothy just grinned and waved it off. He said, honesty, it wasn’t nearly as bad as you think. We ate and drank like royalty every single day.”

Henry could only stare in disbelief.
Timothy, seeing Henry’s stunned look, grinned and said, “No, really. We were just spending Wesley’s cash the whole time.”
Henry just looked even more lost.
Sierra gave a quick explanation, then finished, “Wesley said he’ll be coming to Hustralia soon. Right now, he’s helping out with elephants over in Qartham.”
“We really need to thank him properly,” Henry said seriously.
Seriously, if it hadn’t been for Wesley, with the little cash they had, they wouldn’t have been able to get by at all over there.
Too bad Wesley had to rush off to Qartham right after everything was settled. They didn’t even get a chance to add him on social media.
Sierra gave the wildlife rescue team a few days off.
She said goodbye to Elliot.
Elliot didn’t really want to say goodbye, but when he saw how worn out Sierra was, he just nodded.
“Sierra, if you ever run into trouble, give me a call, okay? Don’t treat me like a stranger,” Elliot said.
Sierra glanced up at him with a puzzled look.
The words just slipped out of Elliot’s mouth before he could catch himself, and once he said it, there was no taking it back.
He wanted to smack himself for being so stupid.
Elliot’s mind raced, and he came up with a quick cover. He said, “Look, you are close to Sophie and my mom. So you are like a little sister to me. It is only right for me to help you when you are in trouble.”
Sierra thought it over, then smiled. She said, “Deal. If I ever need help, I’ll come to you.”
Elliot nodded with a straight face.
Then, without hesitating, he spun around and hopped back into the car.
Connor had been waiting for Elliot inside, all set to go.
Connor glanced up at him in the rearview mirror and saw Elliot looking like he was about to cry.
Then, to his shock, he watched as Elliot gave himself a light slap across the face.
Connor thought, ‘Is it just me, or is Mr. Paterson not fully awake yet? Or maybe I’m the one still dreaming?
‘Wasn’t Mr. Paterson always super proud of his looks? He used to brag about being so good-looking that he could totally charm Sierra just by showing his face.
‘He even snuck off with his mom’s skincare stash just to keep his skin perfect.
‘He is so obsessed with his looks that he’ll probably ensure his face if he could. And yet, here he is, actually slapping himself?
‘Did he take the wrong meds this morning or something?’
But terrified of getting fired, Connor forced himself to stay calm and say nothing.
Elliot slumped back in the leather seat, sounding totally defeated. He mumbled, “It’s over. Everything’s over.”
The assistant just stared, totally lost.
He thought, ‘Over what?’
Elliot covered his eyes with one hand and let out a deep sigh.
He muttered, “Why can’t I just keep my mouth shut?”
Connor thought, ‘Seriously, you’re only just realizing this now?”
Elliot groaned, “I wanted to be Sierra’s husband, not her brother. How did I end up in the brother zone?”
Connor thought, ‘Honestly, this is still a step up, right?”
Every time Elliot said something, Connor had a snarky comeback ready in his mind.
Finally, Connor was at a loss for words. He glanced out the window and said, “Mr. Paterson, I’m driving the Mercedes today. The windows are tinted, so people outside can’t see in. But it looks like Sierra is watching you right now.”
Elliot shot upright in his seat.
He looked out the window and, sure enough, saw Sierra staring at him with a puzzled look, like she was silently asking if he was okay.
