As soon as Sierra finished speaking, the conference room fell silent. It was simple. Most of the big shots here were older. They might scroll through videos, but they knew next to nothing about live streaming.

Sierra knew this all too well, and honestly, she wasn’t confident about it either.

She explained, “My contract with the agency ends in three days. Once it’s over, I’ll start a short video account. During the day, I’ll stream wildlife footage from the park, and at night, I’ll go live with viewers to help them with their pet problems.”

Sierra knew that a plain old livestream wouldn’t get much attention. But if she threw in some gimmicks, like acting as a pet whisperer, pet owners would be lining up to watch.

Pet owners could drop cash just like guys buying booze or ladies shopping for clothes and makeup. They would be tempted without any doubt.

Sierra was really selling them a dream. Thomas and the others could practically see dollar signs flashing in front of their eyes.

“Great idea. We can’t help with the money, but when it comes to pulling strings, just say the word, and we’ll make it happen,” the experts said. They were buzzing with energy, scrambling to set up all the live-streaming gear Sierra needed.

While the experts were busy setting up the live streaming gear, Sierra headed over to the raccoon enclosure.

Angel had been a lot more lively lately, but after hearing that her mom and two sisters were gone, she just curled up in the corner, looking like a wilted mushroom left in the shadows.

Sierra crouched down beside her, her compassionate gaze sorrowful. She said, “Angel, I won’t tell you not to be sad. What I really hope is that, no matter if you return to your family or stay here, you’ll always be safe and sound.”

Sierra had looked into it. Angel was rescued right on the border between two states.

And the name Angel was given to her by the old man who found her. That was just how people were. Some were cruel, while others showed kindness and saved lives.

To animals, humans were like gods who could do anything. But you never know what they’ll do next.

Angel’s fluffy ears twitched a few times; it looked like she was really taking it in. But losing her mom and sisters all at once just couldn’t bounce back.

Sierra stood up, thinking, ‘No matter what, I have to help Angel get back on her feet ASAP!’

With that thought in mind, Sierra left the raccoon enclosure. She was totally oblivious as three raccoons came racing down from the trees, sprinting toward her like they were in a track meet, and then latched onto her legs in a big group hug.

When Sierra looked down, she saw the trio from the neighboring territory clinging to her legs, acting all spoiled and begging for attention.

“Sierra, why do you always come here just to see Angel? What about us?”

“Angel only ever picks fights with us raccoons, but we’re different; we know how to turn on the charm.”

“Come on, Sierra, give us some attention.”

The three raccoons grabbed onto Sierra’s pants, exposing their vulnerable bellies and begging her to give

them a little attention.

These days, the trio had been feeling frustrated and jealous. They just couldn’t wrap their heads around it. They thought, ‘We were cuter and sweeter than Angel, so why did Sierra always go see her and not us?”

This time, Sierra didn’t even pause to pet them; she just headed straight out of the raccoon enclosure.

‘We’re so mad,’ the three raccoons thought, practically steaming with jealousy.

Sierra thought, ‘These guys are so buzzing. My head’s starting to hurt.’

But as Sierra glanced down at the three raccoons clinging to her, an idea flashed through her mind and she couldn’t help but smile.

“Sorry, I was just thinking about something and almost forgot to give my cute babies some attention,” Sierra

said.

Sierra crouched down and started giving the three raccoons a good, loving rub, running her hands through their fur like she was making up for lost time.

One of the little guys squinted his already tiny eyes in pure bliss. It said, “We raccoons would never hold it against you, Sierra. As long as you come to pet us every day, that’s all we want.”

The raccoons knew Sierra had to share her love with lots of animals, so they didn’t ask for much, as long as she could spend just an hour with them each day, that was more than enough.

Just thinking about it made the little guys feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But the three raccoons were so caught up in their happiness that they didn’t notice the sly glint that flashed in Sierra’s eyes.

Sierra put on a troubled look and said, “But Angel’s not feeling well, and there are so many little ones at the zoo who need me. After I check on her, I won’t have any time left for you three.”

The three raccoons let out angry barks, sounding just like a pack of dogs.

‘What is this?’ the trio thought, dumbfounded. ‘Seriously, is there any fairness left in the world? Angel’s stealing all the time? So what are we supposed to do now?’

One of the raccoons opened his eyes wide and clung to Sierra’s leg for dear life. It said, “Then how about you come see us twice a week, Sierra?”

Sierra still shook her head. The three little guys’ bright eyes instantly went wide with despair, like the sky was falling.

“What? Once a week, maybe?” one of them asked, its voice full of hope.

Sierra shook her head again. She said, “If you have to wait your turn, I might only be able to visit you once a

month.”

The three little guys just stared at her, stunned into silence.

Sierra felt them grip her legs even tighter, desperate not to let her go. Seeing her little scheme succeed, Sierra couldn’t help but grin. She said, “Well, maybe there is a solution after all.”

“What is it?” they asked. The three little guys all looked up at her at once.

Sierra said, “Angel’s mom and sisters were killed, so she’s very sad. I want to cheer her up and make her playful like you. If she can’t move on, I’ll help her more. If you three play and talk with her, she might feel

better.

“And then I’ll have more time to hang out with you guys.”

The three raccoons just stared at her, speechless.

The little guys exchanged glances, not sure what to say. They figured Sierra’s idea wasn’t half bad. However, it was difficult.

“Sierra, Angel’s way too savage. She totally pinned us down and beat us up,” one of the raccoons complained.

“Yeah, she even bit my car clean off. It hurt like crazy,” another said, sounding pitiful.

Sierra instinctively glanced at the one-eared raccoon and fell silent for a long moment. She calmly turned away, then her whole body trembled. Finally, she couldn’t hold back and smiled.

The raccoon with just one ear was actually named One Ear, and his look was already pretty funny. Now that Sierra realized Angel was the one who’d bitten his ear off, she felt a mix of sympathy and amusement.

She explained, “It’s just that Angel didn’t know you guys before, so she thought you were trying to bully her.”

“We weren’t trying to bully her. We just wanted to play, but she bared her teeth and started whacking us,” one of the raccoons said.

“Yeah, we’re scared of her. We don’t want to play with her at all,” another chimed in.

The three raccoons were really not having it.

Sierra wasn’t surprised at all. Angel wasn’t actually aggressive.

Honestly, those three raccoons were just acting up way too much, and Angel was stressed out at the time, so they got smacked for it.

Sierra let out a helpless sigh. She said, “Well, looks like I’ll have to wait until next month to visit

you guys.”

The three raccoons freaked out the moment they saw Sierra getting ready to leave.

“Sierra, please don’t go. We’re begging you, don’t leave us. We’ll do it, we’ll go make friends with Angel, we swear,” one of them cried, practically clinging to her leg.

“It’s just ears, right? I mean, I’ve only got two, if Angel bites them both off, then she won’t have any left to chew on anyway,” another said, trying to sound brave but clearly nervous.

“Whatever, if we’re doomed, we’re doomed, the third raccoon said, like he was marching off to the chopping

block.

The three raccoons, looking like they were heading for execution, scampered over and clumsily climbed the fence into Angel’s territory.

Right after that, Sierra watched as the three little guys swarmed around Angel, who was still huddled up in the corner like a mushroom, and started causing a commotion.

Angel didn’t even have time to feel sad anymore; she was completely overwhelmed by the chaos and just couldn’t take it.

The three raccoons got smacked around by Angel so badly that they ended up scrambling back to their own territory, crying and crawling the whole way.

Angel is so fierce, the three raccoons thought, sniffling and licking their wounds.
