Chapter 50
Chapter 50
Jack held the Ragdoll cat in his arms like he was cradling a baby.

But soon, netizens noticed the Ragdoll was skin and bones, its fur looked greasy and dull, and the poor thing seemed totally out of it.
[Ragdolls are so adorable, how did this dude manage to mess his cat up like this?]
[Seriously, did he abuse the cat or what? How does he even have the nerve to show up on stream!]
Sierra saw the chat full of insults about Jack. She said, “Ragdoll cats are difficult to groom. Although the kitten’s fur is unhealthy, the little one has no knots at all, which shows the owner patiently brushes its fur every day.”
Jack saw the comments, too, and quickly nodded in agreement. He said, “Exactly. How could I ever abuse my cat? I love him to death. I really don’t know what’s going on. He used to be so chubby, but these months, he keeps getting skinnier.”
Jack looked like he was about to cry.
Sierra noticed Jack’s place was pretty upscale, probably a mansion in a nice neighborhood. The decor was classy, and behind him, a glass cabinet was packed with stacks of top-tier cat food and cans. There were also tons of toys and outfits for the cat.
The netizens saw all this, too, and they couldn’t accuse him of mistreating his cat anymore. If this were considered abusing a cat, they’d be even worse.
Even though the Ragdoll was so skinny, it still curled up around Jack’s neck like a soft scarf, clinging to him.
It said, “Meow. I’m so hungry.”
The little cat meowed again, staring blankly at the camera. It didn’t know what a phone was, or what a livestream meant, but the glow from Sierra on the screen caught its attention and made it look over.
But it was so hungry it could barely move.
Sierra raised an eyebrow and said to Jack, “Hey, can you bring the kitty up to the camera? Let me see if I can talk to it.”
Jack replied, “You got it.”
Jack moved the cat right up to the screen, just like Sierra asked. The whole screen was filled with the cat’s face, and everyone instantly got hit by a wave of cuteness overload.
[Wow, this cat is so adorable.]
[His cat has amazing features, big paws, wide face. A cat like this easily costs thousands of dollars, so how come it’s so skinny?]
Chapter 50
[The cat’s eyes look like they hold stars and the ocean.]
Sierra gazed at the little one on the screen, her voice gentle and soothing. She asked, “Hey, what’s your name, little buddy? Why did you say you were so hungry just now?”
The kitten had been listless, but as soon as it heard Sierra, it suddenly lifted its head and meowed. It said, “My name is Cookie.”
After saying that, its eyes widened in shock. It asked, “You can really hear me?”
Sierra smiled and nodded.
Its eyes sparkled with happiness. It said, “This is awesome. You really get what I’m saying. Can you please tell Jack to feed me more every day? Pretty please? I’m so hungry, I haven’t had a proper meal in forever.”
Cookie meowed excitedly at the screen.
Sierra called Jack to come on camera and asked, “Jack, are you sure Cookie’s getting enough to eat every day? He just told me he’s really hungry.”
“Hungry?” Jack was stunned, then shook his head firmly. He said, “Impossible. I consulted the breeder and vet on Cookie’s exact portions, worried he might need more. I always give him extra than they recommend.”
‘Seriously?’ Sierra thought, utterly stunned.
She zeroed in on the real issue. Sierra asked, “Jack, just tell me; how many grams of cat food do you actually feed Cookie every day?”
Jack just froze, totally baffled.
Jon mumbled, sounding guilty, “Wait, you’re supposed to measure cat food by grams? The breeder and the vet told me to just feed him by counting out the pieces.”
The chat was blowing up with question marks.
Sierra asked, “So, Jack, how many bits of cat food do you feed him every day?”
Jack paused. “The breeder and vet said kittens eat little, twenty bits daily once weaned. Thinking he might need more, I gave him twenty-three bits, twice a day,” he explained.
Jack clammed up after that. He saw the chat blowing up, comments flying by faster than a rocket.
[Jack, you’re seriously only giving a one-year-old cat just over twenty kibbles a day?]
[Bro, maybe just set the cat free. Honestly, we wouldn’t even blame you.]
[Jack, did it ever occur to you that cats actually grow up?]
[Cookie must be a survivor, living on just forty-six kibbles a day and still hanging on.]
Jack just stood there, totally stunned. His eyes were glazed over, his lips quivering as he stared at Sierra in

disbelief. Then he stammered, “I’ve been feeding him wrong?”

Sierra nodded without hesitation, but her voice turned gentle as she comforted him. She said, “Cookie doesn’t blame you. Just take him to the vet for a checkup, and if he’s fine, make sure to feed him more; don’t actually let him go hungry, okay?”
The very next second, Jack was bawling his eyes out, clutching Cookie tight. All he could do was say sorry over and over again.
Sierra was getting a little tired of all the crying, and since the problem was sorted out, she switched over to the next guest on the stream.
On the other end was a stylish young guy, his eyes so clear and bright; he had that fresh, clear-eyed look you only see in college students.
He said, “Hi, Sierra. I’m a college student, my name’s Ryan.” Ryan introduced himself right off the bat.
Sierra nearly cracked up, saying, “Hey, college guy, you really don’t have to drop your real name on stream.”
Ryan’s face went beet red, and he hurried to change the topic. He said, “Sierra, can you help me ask my dog what rule I broke to get treated like this?”
Then Ryan spun his phone around, showing the stream a big dark hole right in his ceiling.
Sierra was stunned.
Ryan explained, “No joke, my dog actually ripped a giant hole in the ceiling. And he’s always trying to escape. Just yesterday, I forgot to close my window, and he almost took a flying leap from the twentieth floor.”
Sierra’s eyes widened at how serious it sounded. She said, “Let me talk to your dog, bring him to the camera, quick.”
Ryan nodded. He said, “Wait a sec, Sierra, I’ll go catch him.”
After that, all sound was the slap of Ryan’s slippers as he shuffled away. A moment later, the video was shaking all over the place, and then the screen went totally black.
The chat was blowing up.
[Man, that dog is a total menace to catch.]
[Maybe just give up on the dog, Ryan, we wouldn’t blame you.]
[Isn’t that Ryan, the campus heartthrob from Northbel University’s computer science department? He’s still sticking with that crazy dog, huh?]
[Wait, you know the college guy?]
[Know Ryan? He’s quite well-known. He used to live on campus, but after finding a puppy in the mountains that tore a hole in his dorm door on the first day, he moved out and rented his own place.]
Chapter 50
[He’d rather rent an apartment than give up on the dog; now that’s a good-hearted college student.]
While the chat was still buzzing, Ryan finally grabbed his phone from the blackout and pointed it at himself and his notorious troublemaker of a dog.
Ryan was holding the dog down with his body, while the pup squirmed and whined underneath him.
Ryan clutched the phone in one hand, jaw clenched. He said, “Sierra, I’ve got him. Quick, ask your questions before he makes a run for it.”
Then, on screen, a little white fluffball with a pointy snout and perky ears popped into view. When everyone finally got a good look at the dog, the chat just froze for a second.
Sierra’s mouth twitched. She asked, “Are you sure that’s a dog?”
