Sierra had no interest in dealing with the Sterling brothers. She said, “I can take responsibility for what I’ve done. If the Johnson family wants to sue me, they’re welcome to try. But…”

She paused, a faint smile tugging at her lips, her eyes flickering subtly toward Nick.

Nick’s face instantly darkened. He thought, ‘She’s threatening me.’

Hearing Sierra’s bold words, Clara exploded. She snapped, “As you wish. We will definitely sue you. So what if my son abused a cat? Is animal abuse even illegal? And now you dare threaten us? I’m calling the cops right now!”

Nick noticed that Sierra was completely unfazed, even while Clara fumed. He realized Sierra wasn’t the least bit afraid of involving the police..

Cold sweat streamed down Nick’s face as he hurried to stop Clara. He said, “Mom, don’t call the cops!”

Clara looked at Nick, puzzled. Just as she was about to ask what was wrong with him, Sierra said, “Two months stole my dog and tried to beat it to death. I never deleted the video.”

Nick and Clara’s faces fell instantly.

Sierra kept that faint, knowing smile on her lips, her gaze landing on the Sterling brothers. She continued, “I remember the last time someone stole my dog: one ended up in jail, and the other’s still locked up. Right, Jonathan? Shawn?”

The Sterling brothers’ faces twisted into scowls. They knew Sierra was talking about Charles and Natalie.

Charles got sentenced, and Natalie got thrown in jail for a month.

When Sierra brought it up, the mood in the room instantly soured.

Meanwhile, Ryan was looking at Sierra with starry-eyed admiration, quietly giving her a thumbs-up.

Robert, who’d been ignored the whole time, shot Ryan a fierce glare.

Robert cleared his throat and finally spoke up. He said, “Before you all arrived, we’d already talked to the nearby students. Sierra did get physical, but Nick was already on the ground and hurt before she even laid a hand on him.

“Whether you want to call the cops or not, that’s up to you two parents to decide. Frankly, animal abuse is a much bigger issue than just getting into a fight.

“Northbel University is supposed to be a national role model, and now we’ve got a student here who’s been caught hurting and killing cats. It’s already all over the internet. The school has no choice but to deal with this strictly and seriously.”

“What?” Nick and Clara both exclaimed, their voices overlapping in shock. They immediately realized how serious this was.

Robert said, “With how connected everyone is these days, and so many students right there, there’s no way we could’ve stopped someone from posting the video online.”

What he didn’t say was that the higher-ups had told the school to just let the whole thing blow up, without interfering at all.

That’s why the video, which started out just circulating quietly around campus, ended up going viral online.

Robert glanced down at his phone. Then, adjusting his glasses coolly, he said, “Oh, looks like it’s trending now.”

Clara’s face instantly went pale, her lips quivering. Sure enough, she wasn’t exactly smart, but she knew their family’s line of work was pretty sensitive. If she blew things up today, it’d only backfire on her.

She thought better of it and backed off from calling the cops.

Videos of Sierra throwing hands and the Northbel University student abusing cats were blowing up all over the internet.

Back in the day, Sierra would’ve been the first one to get roasted online, but this time was different. Everyone was cheering for her for going after the cat abuser.

One commented: [I’m here for Sierra today. Let’s see who dares to talk trash.]

Another commented: [Sierra slapping that guy was so badass. I’m a fan now!]

Someone commented: [Ever since Sierra left showbiz, she’s been living her best life. Love it.]

One commented: [Honestly, this is so much better for Sierra. Back when she was in the entertainment industry, she always looked exhausted. I caught her livestream the other day, and realized she didn’t go to WonderWild Zoo just to ditch her

agency.

[She genuinely loves animals. She’s finally living on her own terms.]

A comment read: [Saw the pics posted by that Northbel University student. That poor cat was pregnant, and now all her paws were brutally chopped off, her fur scalded off with boiling water, and she’s still fighting for her life.]

Someone commented: [Anyone who abuses cats deserves to rot.]

One could never underestimate the power of an online discussion. Netizens started digging, and it didn’t take long for them to find out that Nick’s family was in the pet business.

One commented: [Damn! The Johnson family is a big shot in the pet industry, and their heir is a cat abuser.]

Another commented: [Honestly, their pet food sucks. My cat got pancreatitis after eating their cat food!]

A person wrote: [And their stuff is so expensive.]

Someone commented: [I’m never buying from them again.]

Once the internet started buzzing, it became impossible to tell truth from fiction.

Mob mentality took over: if netizens said the Johnson family sold poison pet food, then poison pet food it was. If people declared their quality was trash, then it was trash.

And with the heir exposed as a cat abuser, no one questioned it for a second.

Everyone who’d bought anything from the Johnson family started demanding refunds, and warning threads about their products were flying all over the internet..

Meanwhile, the food safety and quality control departments rushed to the Johnson family’s factory at lightning speed, leaving Nick’s dad scrambling.

Nick, still stuck at school, had no idea any of this was going down.

The school officials showed up and handed down the expulsion: Nick was out.

Nick and Clara both lost it.

Nick gritted his teeth, shooting Sierra a venomous glare. He demanded, “I just killed a few cats. Why am I getting kicked for that?”

He fumed inwardly, “This is all Sierra’s fault. If she hadn’t butted in, I wouldn’t be getting expelled right now

Hut even so, Nick could only shoot daggers at Sierra. He didn’t dare say a single word back. After all, Sierra had enough evidence to put him behind bars.

Robert knew Nick and Clara were tough to deal with, but he was more angry and more disappointed than anything.

He snapped, “Just a cat? Are you serious? Isn’t a cat a living being? Do you think cats deserve to die? Maybe the law can’t punish you, but Northbel University sure can!”

Robert’s office was filled with senior administrators and top faculty members. These were the giants of academia. The Johnsons were beneath their notice.

Robert said coldly. “We’re not expelling you. We’re giving you a choice: drop out on your own. If you want to apply to another college, that’s your business. But Northbel University has no place for someone like you.”

Everyone in the room had seen the kittens’ horrifying state on Ryan’s phone and couldn’t help but feel their hearts ache. They thought, ‘How could someone be this vile?’

Even without all the internet backlash, there was no way the school would ever keep someone like Nick around.

Robert didn’t hesitate for a second. He made his decision and acted fast.

Nick didn’t have any tricks up his sleeve, and even though he swore he’d never drop out, the school just went ahead and expelled him on the spot, kicking him out that very day.

Even with Clara throwing a fit and making a scene at the school, it didn’t change a thing.

As for the Sterling brothers, they just stood there like background props, not able to get a word in edgewise.

Once Nick and Clara were finally kicked out, the school officials began showering Sierra with attention, acting as if they were closer to her than her own family.

Shawn was seething on the sidelines, so mad that he could’ve chewed nails. He thought, ‘We dropped everything for Sierra, and what did we get? Nothing. She didn’t even look our way once, treating both Jonathan and me like we didn’t exist.

Now that everything was settled, Sierra turned to leave.

Shawn had had enough and called out, “Sierra, stop right there.”

Sierra paused for a split second.

A smug look instantly appeared on Shawn’s face. He thought, ‘See? She was just pretending before. I told her to stop, and she did. She still listens to me after all. That means she still gives a damn about me.’

But for some reason, a weird, tight feeling squeezed his chest, like he might tear up any second. He didn’t show it on his face.

Sierra slowly turned, her eyes bottomless, her voice colder than ice. She said, “Shawn, did you not get enough slaps on that reality show? Want me to hand out a few more right now?”

With that, Sierra started walking toward Shawn, her steps slow and deliberate.

She hadn’t even touched him yet, but Shawn’s face was already burning, like he’d been slapped. He clutched his face and instinctively backed away a few steps. He stammered, “S-Sierra, you wouldn’t really do it, would you?”

Sierra’s fingers were itching to slap him again, but with all the school officials watching, she couldn’t afford to make a scene. More importantly, she’d already wasted way too much time on this mess.

If she missed her graduation today, she might not get her diploma at all.

Sierra didn’t want to waste another second on them. She said, “If you don’t want to get slapped, stay the hell out of my sight. Don’t ever cross my path again.”

Suddenly, something popped into Sierra’s mind. She walked right up to Jonathan and said, “You smashed my phone the other day. Be sure to have a new one delivered to the security desk at WonderWild Zoo by tomorrow.”

Jonathan felt a little out of it. It was like his dreams and reality were worlds apart. Everything just felt unreal to him.

As Sierra turned to leave, Jonathan instinctively moved to follow her.

But before Jonathan could take another step, Ryan darted in front of him like a slick cel, his eyes sparkling with mischief and challenge. He demanded, “Didn’t you hear? Sierra wants nothing to do with either of you.”

He raised his fist, grinning. He added, “Try following her again, and both of you are gonna seriously regret it.”
