Biker's Claim The Broken Angel is Mine (Cora and Jake) novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101-

Chapter 101

Gunner POV

Demetri didn’t speak at all and kept his face blank throughout the interrogation.

Didn’t blink at some of the more violent hits.

He had to have seen this sort of interrogation before.

Demetri didn’t try to get involved or ask questions, unlike most.

He was a puzzle I wanted to put together and work out the bigger picture, because there’s more to this man than meets the eye.

After we left the cells, thoughts running through my mind, we ended up in Oddball’s office and made

d like to see your Hacker, guy, see his set-up, and maybe talk about working together, and ow your local police liaise with you. I promise to share as I get information. Also, I will call a me here, if that’s permitted. He was our main lead in this operation. I believe he would gain a lot what you have managed to achieve in a short space of time, compared to what his team has

aged.”

We need Cora. When is she coming in?” Oddball asked, turning to me for a reply, ignoring Demetri’s

question.

“Lunch time, to help Strike pack up, had thought the same, need that spreadsheet updated, and some of her insight on what we see.”

“Forget that, I have others working with Strike to get that sorted. I need her with Hacker; he has some more reports for her to input.”

“Cora, that good?” Demetri asked, looking shocked at our chat, leaving him out of the conversation,

Г although not deliberately.

“Cora was the reason we have got this far, made up the spreadsheets, breaking down the areas that the targets use often, thought up the drones, she’s got a great mind, for detective work,” Oddball answered for himself. honestly, not trying to

widespread this could go, was the gun club involved, doing some competition, that was whispered on the streets, could be true, or was it something far more sinister?” Oddball paced the room as he spoke, before looking up at Demetri.

“You’re family, so for now will trust you; however, know this: if you betray this club or me, you will wish you never met me or this club, or Cora. Bring that man in, but I want to know all that’s going on, anything that man finds, and I want your word that nothing we are doing here gets us in trouble with the law, the cells, the kidnapping, all of it. Change that, I want it in writing that we have immunity, then you can bring in that man.” Oddball almost spat out his words to Demetri. I get where Oddball was coming from. We had problems in the past after trusting the wrong people. He doesn’t care how rich he is or how famous Demetri is. He hurts us; he hurts more than our club. It could hurt other clubs that investigate illegal goings-on and deal with the people our way, too.

We are basic, law-abiding citizens doing the right thing for our community. Still, we are not afraid to take

the law into our own hands when we see our local police fail to do their job and allow a bad element to

continue harming others. We don’t plan to kill.

“Can you call Cora and see if she can come over earlier?” Oddball asked, and I sadly pulled out my phone to call her. I hate dragging her away from her work just because Oddball wants her here, but I also thought

she was needed here.

Cora POV

First thing I did, once Demetri and Gunner left, was call a meeting. I had all the staff meet in the large hall, which I call the ballroom; it’s huge and looks like it could have been used for balls, and I felt it would be nice to do a Christmas party in there. Ideas on that had already flowed in my head when I first saw it, on

the house tour.

“As

you all know by now, Demetri is my father. Some comments I have heard are not what I want to hear. They talked about my father with dollar signs in their eyes; it needs to stop and stop now. Julie, Sandra and Vicki were removed from the property; they threatened to take photos and sell them to the tabloids and magazines. If I catch any of you doing that, you will be terminated from your employment and will not be able to find work elsewhere. I will also file a lawsuit for breach of contract and invasion of privacy. You work here on trust; once it’s broken, it’s hard to restore. Which brings me to the second reason for this meeting: Jacky also suggested taking a picture of my father to make money. Jacky, you will be escorted off the property and are not permitted to return. Your contract included a three-month trial period; you’ve already breached it. Vince, Dontae, can you escort her off the property and hand her her phone back once she is off the property?” Murmurs of shock went around the hall, while Jacky was removed, kicking and shouting revenge, and that I would be sorry I did this. Which I am not; no one living or working under my roof will hurt me ever again. I am not that same Cora anymore; I have grown, no longer the peacemaker at the expense of my own happiness.

“A press release was done an hour ago,” I continued as if removing Jacky was nothing.

“The world now knows that I am Demetri’s daughter and heir. You may find people approaching you offering you large sums of money to get pictures and stories for them. Be warned, instant dismissal and

legal action will be taken if you fall for those traps. The press might camp outside the gates, trying to get a glimpse inside, looking for Demetri or me. Be careful when you go home. Sorry for the inconvenience; it will die down quickly, Sooner or later, they will get bored with the news. Also, some more security men will be arriving to keep me and those here safe from anyone trying to get inside. Some transportable homes will be built on the far right of the property for the security teams. Feel free to come and talk to me if you have any concerns or if you need an escort home because of this danger. I doubt they would cause you any harm; they want my father and me. Thank you and have a good day.” I dismissed them and hunted down the cook; we were to go over the meal plans. I found Sonya in the kitchen, rummaging through the pantry.

We spent about an hour on meal suggestions and a month-long plan. We had no allergies and were not that picky, making the plans simple. I also informed her that Oddball and Strike were joining us, that Strike
