Biker's Claim The Broken Angel is Mine (Cora and Jake) novel Chapter 102

Chapter 102

Cora POV

A quick last-minute instruction to Clara, and I climbed into ari SUV, and the security guards drove me to the clubhouse. Apparently, I am to be chauffeured everywhere I go; if I am not on the back of the bike, I am in the back of the vehicle, the price I have to pay for being Demetri’s daughter. I giggled when they said the SUV’s were bullet proof, because on the back of a bike I won’t be until Demetri told me about a special bulletproof shirt I would be wearing, under my clothing, that’s lightweight, and almost invisible when wearing my shirt over the top, not bulky like a bullet proof vest the police where, that I need to wear when on the bike.

Demetri had answers for everything.

It was so annoying.

Gunner met me as I arrived, gave me a quick kiss, then led me to Oddball and Demetri, who were sitting in

Oddball’s office, drinking coffee, and a cup was waiting for me. I wondered what was happening, for them

all to want me urgently, then sit here drinking coffee.

“Cora, can you update the spreadsheets? We need to see where the hot areas are.” Oddball pushed his laptop at me and left me with a coffee, a sandwich, and his laptop as they turned back to whatever they were talking about before I walked in. There was a lot to input. I turned to the information before me, my fingers flying over the laptop keys. I don’t know how long I worked; my coffee went cold, and someone replaced it. I only noticed because of the shadow that passed by me, catching my attention briefly. By the time I had finished keying in the information, the hot areas had changed greatly. The area near our town was cold, with not a single complaint in days, whereas the other two places were not hot spots.

“Oddball, what’s happening?” I turned the laptop around for him to see. The whole red zone moved, not a little bit, but a whole move to surround two small towns.

“Time to call Donk and find out what he knows, because that’s unbelievable. Was the Redhill Range the

goal?”

Oddball, called Donk, answered it on the second ring.

“Oddball.”

“Donk, you are on speaker. What’s going on, mate?”

“Been a busy night, lots of call outs on blown tyres, think that shooter team you warned us about moved in, no deaths so far, but unprecedented accidents.”

“Check out the latest update on the spreadsheet.” Oddball pushed, and we waited for him to check it out. “Holy crap, is our town the main target now?” Donk called out. The screen behind Oddball is ringing, and soon Donk’s face, larger than life, came into view, his worried face clear on the screen.

<Chapter 102-

“We have two men in the cells; hence, our town has almost no hits. Nector managed to catch two as well, and in his cells, I guess you haven’t caught anyone yet.” Oddball informed Donk.

“We caught one, but we didn’t anticipate such a huge area needed to be covered. The one we caught was the delivery driver; the others must be from somewhere else. What the beck’s going on?” Donk asked, giving more information about the man in the cells and what he managed to glean from him. They did as we suggested and left the delivery van in a place that made it appear the driver had continued, taking care not to be seen or leave any evidence behind.

“Let me know what you find out. We need help over here.” Donk pleaded.

“Donk, why don’t you set up some traps around the hot zone, nothing to maim or kill, just to capture, and maybe something to signal you when it’s set off. Try using some drones as we did; you can search the

area using thermal imaging. Anyone off the road needs investigating; you can do this.” I said my mind was

already working on ideas, that the town was in danger, big danger.

“Can do, we have a drone club in town, will contact them and see if they can help, the police here are stretched, and I think they have limited brain power, if you know what I mean.” Some small town officers think they are out of sight and safe to be idle. Our town was on the larger side and had some good officers, but some not-so-good were in the power seats, and that’s the holdup. Donk will capture as many shooters as possible, hoping to minimise their injuries. They talked about a plan, but I was back to working on the laptop, seeing what else I could find before the day was done. There weren’t that many delivery vans in that area, so something else was going on.

“Cora, can you save what you were doing and take Demetri to meet Hacker?” I nodded and led Demetri out, thinking they wanted to talk without him in the room. I get it, Demetri was new to them, and still not trusted enough to give him all their plans. He’ll get there eventually. Demetri has shown great patience when dealing with men that he wants to get to know, and little to no patience with idiots. Like most of us, I

guess.

“Hacker, this is..” I didn’t get to finish the introduction to Hacker.

“Demetri Ferrari, the best Hacker known in the industry.” Hacker held out his hand to shake hands. It takes a lot to drag Hacker away from his computer; I guess Demetri was enough to distract him.

“Hacker, glad to meet you, now show me what you got.” Demetri got right into it; I was more or less forgotten as the two of them got talking, codes, binary methods, hidden firewalls, and the rest over my head. I was proud of what I could do, but I was nothing compared to what these two were talking about.

I left them to it and headed to a computer, looking into the delivery company, the routes they had been an. and decided to add another spreadsheet that tracked all the delivery vans’ movements for a month to see what overlapped. It took about an hour to add all the new information to the runs, and I used another page to bring it all together, including the delivery run routes and the reported or known shootings.

The result was alarming.

I phoned Oddball to come to the security room, please. I didn’t want to put this on the server just yet,

where the other clubs could see it, before verification from Oddball. He should schedule a phone conference call and speak with everyone. Oddball arrived quickly, with Gunner close behind.

“What did you find?” Oddball growled out, making Hacker and Dentetri both turn to look at me.

“Look, I haven’t uploaded it onto the server as yet, didn’t want to scare the clubs.” Demetri, Hacker, Oddball and Gunner all crowded around my computer screen. Oddball cursed, Hacker whistled, and Demetri growled out something that a lady won’t be repeating, but it was worse than what Oddball had cussed.

“How did you come to that?” Gunner asked, him being the only one not losing it.
