Chapter 178
Chapter 178
Xavier POV
We were in the workshop chatting about nothing in particular. Neither of us wanted to talk about
the shootings or the investigation; it was a day for us to celebrate with our girls.
“What do you think the ladies will wear today?” Demetri asked as he washed his bike. I had just
serviced it for him, as he hadn’t had a chance to get it to the club shop since he returned home,
and I was more than happy to help him out. I know he was my father-in-law, but he feels more like a friend than a father figure to me.
I’m not sure why.
He just doesn’t come across like that to me.
Maybe because he treats me as a brother, rather than a son.
He missed out on being a dad. Maybe when Cora has children, we can share the dirty pants; that’s about the only part I am not looking forward to. I don’t want to hurt the little one, and well, I have changed diapers before, and let’s say they can fill them and get them covered all over their
bottoms and bellies; how they hold all that in was yuck.
Change thoughts quickly.
I had just finished servicing my bike and was preparing to wash it when Demetri got a phone call. He looked at the phone before answering.
“Coins.” It was the first time I had heard him answer the phone using his road name. I’d heard men, when talking to Demetri, call him Coins, but not when he answered the phone.
“Sounds like a plan.” He sounded chirpy; that’s a good sign.
I filled a bucket with soapy water and started to wash the bike, giving it a thorough wash. This has to be a show-and-shine quality, because I feel like Cora and I will be on display, and so will Ruby, but in a different way. Being the President’s woman, she will have different duties. I have yet to find out what his plans are for me.
We discussed helping out in the workshop when they get overloaded, and he wants me to learn the club workings too, as I have run my own shop and also helped Oddball out when he was snowed under; Demetri felt I could be of use in that way. Not all men are confident about using the computer; he was looking at me being more involved with his other work, but I have yet to learn about that side. Demetri doesn’t want me to look like I am taking over what Cora would be doing, her inheritance; hence, his being careful.

Chapter 178
Demetri got back to cleaning his bike, drying it, and pulling out all the stops to make it shine ti
tyre black spray for the wheels, and some extra work on the chrome, making it sparkle; it looked
good by the time he finished.
“You done? Need to get changed. They are ready for us, an hour early,” Demetri said, as he threw the rags in the tub.
“Sure, I am done.” My bike always looks good, but today it looked showroom standard, ready to be on display. I am proud of my bike; I even did the paintwork myself. I am no painter, but it looks good to me. Winning a few show-n-shines with it, people’s choice that sort of thing.
We headed upstairs, and Cora was not in our room; I guess they went to one of the other rooms to change. I showered, got dressed in my best black jeans, black shirt, and boots that shined like my
bike.
I met Demetri in the hallway.
“Seen the girls?” I asked, thinking they might have been in his room.
“No, I was going to ask you the same thing,” said Demetri, or should I call him Coins? Now he was wearing his cut.
We headed downstairs.
Our first stop was the kitchen.
Nope, not there.
Second stop: the office.
Nope, not there.
Next was the sitting room.
Standing in the middle of the room were the two women we had been searching for. They had a drink in their hands, waiting for us. They looked fantastic in their all-leather outfit, putting our jeans and shirt to shame, but I am not sure if I have anything to match their looks. Next time at the mall, I will have to find a leather shop and get matching pants.
“You ladies look stunning, ready to leave? The party is waiting for the guests of honour to arrive,” Coins said as he moved forward, but Ruby put up her hand to stop him from getting closer. I moved to go to Cora, but she copied Ruby and put her hand up to stop me.
“What gives?” I asked, confused by their actions.
“Ready?” I heard Cora ask Ruby.

“Yeah, let’s do this,” Ruby answered.
“One,” Cora said.
“Two,” Ruby said.
“Three!” they both said, and both raised a white, stick-looking item at us, using both hands.
“Really?” Coins answered first, before I understood what I was looking at.
He moved forward, lifted Ruby by the waist, and twirled her around, giving her a bruising kiss, then turned to Cora, who was staring at me, waiting for a reaction, before he lifted her and twirled her around. She giggled as he turned in the circle.
The Coins turned to me.
“What’s your problem? Do you not know what was going on here?” he asked, his face beaming with
joy.
“What did they show you, us?” I asked, but I still hadn’t understood what it was.
Cora moved forward and placed the item in my hand.
I took a closer look at what it said: two lines and the word pregnant.
“Are you both pregnant?” I asked, stunned.
“Yes,” all three answered.
It took a moment to register; I guess I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but when the penny dropped, I moved forward, dropped to my knees, and touched her belly.
“My child brewing?” I asked, resting my head on her belly.
Cora ran her fingers through my hair, messing all up that work to get it to sit flat, but I didn’t care; this was humongous news.
I looked up at Cora, then stood, pulling her towards me, and laying a hard, bruising kiss on her lips.
When we separated, I looked at Coins.
“We are going to be Dad’s; guess we have to help each other through this. I am not that good at crying babies,” I admitted; a tear was forming in my eyes.
