When Xylia stood her ground, Joshua could only bottle up everything he wanted to say.

It wasn’t that he was willing to give in–he was just inexplicably afraid.

Xylia shot the staff member a confused look. “What do you mean?”

The staff member turned to Xylia.

“It’s obvious this gentleman doesn’t want to get married. Are you forcing him?”

“How am I forcing him?” Xylia shot back.

Honestly, she totally was.

She turned to Joshua, her brows arching playfully. “Did I force you?”

She looked all sweet and gentle, but Joshua could totally feel the warning vibe coming off her.

It was like she was silently saying, “If you say I forced you, then forget about ever marrying me.”

Joshua pressed his lips together, and honestly, he couldn’t help but feel both nervous and excited inside.

He was kind of intimidated by Xylia’s stare.

Still, he couldn’t help but look forward to actually tying the knot with her.

Joshua thought to himself, ‘Maybe I really am crazy for her.’

“She didn’t force me,” Joshua said, his voice steady and sincere.

The staff member studied his face for a long moment before finally handing the paperwork back to him.

With Xylia guiding him, Joshua filled out the paperwork.

Joshua blinked, taking a couple seconds to process what she meant.
