Chapter 361
Chapter 361
Sonny looked up at Connor and shot him a fierce glare.
“Dad, do you still think you’ve treated Mom right, even now? Back then, with Tessa-” Sonny began.
“Shut up!” Connor snapped.
Connor kept yelling at Sonny over and over.
Sonny felt crushed, his eyes red with tears as he yelled at Connor.
Sonny screamed, “I hate you!”
After yelling, he bolted back to his room.
Connor was furious, shutting his laptop and immediately going after Sonny.
He looked like he was dead set on teaching Sonny a lesson right then and there.
Seeing this, Chloe quickly stepped in to block him.

“Mr. Ford, Sonny’s still just a kid. He’s got a sensitive heart, and he loves you and his mom so much. That’s why he talks back sometimes. Please don’t be angry–you don’t want to hurt the bond between you two,” Chloe pleaded.
Only now did Connor turn his attention to Chloe.
With a blank expression, he said, “You’re fired.”
With that, Connor marched up the stairs, not sparing Chloe another glance.
Chloe gritted her teeth, unwilling to accept how things had ended for her.
She called out after him, her voice louder now.
‘Mr. Ford, I haven’t made any serious mistakes! Getting fired like this–it’s just not fair!” Chloe protested.
Connor stopped in his tracks and shot Chloe a look.
He gave a cold snort, as if he’d just heard a bad joke,
“Even if Xylia’s got her flaws, she’s still Sonny’s mom. It’s not your place to judge. Disrespecting Sonny’s mother alone makes you unfit to be his teacher,” Connor said, his voice icy.
Leaving those icy words behind, Connor walked away without looking back.
Chloe stood there, trembling all over.
She just couldn’t understand.
‘Xylia is a vicious mother who’s awful to her kid. So why do Sonny and Connor keep defending her?‘ Chloe thought. frustration boiling inside her.
She’d done everything she could for Sonny lately, always trying to play the good girl and show off her smarts in front of
Connor.

But none of it had made the slightest impression on either of them.
‘How am I supposed to keep this mission going now?‘ Chloe thought, feeling completely lost.
While she was still deep in thought, the butler walked up to her.
“Chloe, thank you for all your hard work lately. I’ll get your paycheck ready now, you’re free to go,” the butler said.
Chloe shot the butler a cold look and strode straight for the villa’s front door.
The Garcia family’s little one was about to have their hundred–day celebration.
After Joshua recovered, Aaron pushed him hard to take over the company, so Joshua started easing into running things- even if it was against his will.
He wasn’t exactly thrilled about it.
But he couldn’t deny that having all that power and money felt pretty damn good.
Take the hundred–day celebration he was throwing for his daughter, for example–he spared no expense, making sure everything was absolutely top–notch.
He invited everyone who mattered in Jupiton, all the movers and shakers, the real big shots.
oshua was so high–profile about it that the news was everywhere–even before the media could get a whiff, the whole city already knew the Garcia family’s little princess was about to have her hundred–day bash.
The comments were overflowing with salty tears–everyone was jealous as hell.
I’ve been a good person all my life–manifesting that I get reborn into that family next time!]
Who gets it? A hundred–day–old baby’s celebration at the Jupiton Grand Hall? Not even money can get you in there!]
Comparing myself to these people is just depressing. Can we get more celebrity gossip trending? I don’t even deserve to now about this kind of thing!]
I work a 9–to–5, and I really want to wish the little princess a happy hundred days, but I’m just here, feeling super salty)
Now I finally understand why the villainess in web novels can’t stand seeing the heroine living her best life. I just want to urn into a jealous villainess and lurk in the shadows!]
Xylia was scrolling through the comments when she waved her phone in Joshua’s face.
‘I told you we didn’t have to make such a big deal out of our daughter’s hundred–day party, but you just wanted to show off” Xylia said.
Xylia couldn’t help but sound a little annoyed.
Joshua had just started taking over the company, and he was totally swamped.
If anyone else tried to bother him while he was working, he probably would’ve thrown them out.

But when it came to Xylia, he couldn’t help but indulge her.
It was strange–he just couldn’t bring himself to get mad at her, no matter what.
oshua shot a quick look at Xylia’s phone screen.
He frowned a little.

What kind of crap are these people spouting? I’m having these comments taken down, right now,” Joshua said, sounding innoyed.
He thought that throwing such a grand celebration would flood his daughter with blessings, but all he saw were jealous, narky comments instead.
oshua was just about to unleash his authority and wipe out all the negativity online.
But Xylia held his hand back, stopping him.
Come on, do you really think everyone’s born into a family like ours? Most people are just grinding through life. When hey see us living this ridiculously rich, of course they’re going to be jealous. You can’t stop people from blowing off some team, right?” Xylia said.
oshua snorted. “Our daughter was born to enjoy the best–let them talk all they want.”
Even as he said that, he let go of the internal phone, not making the call after all.
Seeing Joshua like that, Xylia couldn’t help but chuckle.
the grinned and said, “Alright, since you’ve already got everything planned, I’ll stay out of the hundred–day party. And just gnore those online comments. Let’s just have lunch, okay?”
Kylia was here today to bring him lunch.
Back when Joshua was injured, her whole job was just to stay home and take care of him.
Now that Aaron had forced Joshua back to work, all she did besides looking after their daughter was bring Joshua lunch Every day.
Her days were full, but she still felt a little empty inside.
Joshua put his work aside and followed Xylia over to the coffee table.
She’d already set out a bunch of homemade dishes on the table.
“I made all of these myself Go on, give them a try, Xylia said, smiling at him.
There was a whole spread on the table–no less than six dishes, with a mix of meat, veggies, and a steaming bowl of soup
Joshua’s eyebrow shot up as he gave Xylia a look that clearly said he wasn’t pleased
“Who let you in the kitchen?” he grumbled
Xylia blinked in surprise at Joshua’s words.
