Joshua did as Xylia told him and returned to the kitchen, flipping on the exhaust fan.
The powerful exhaust fan cleared out the smoke in no time.
The air felt noticeably fresher.
Xylia let out a relieved breath.
Whatever was in the pot, the smell of burning was getting more and more obvious.
Xylia couldn’t help herself and rushed into the kitchen.
She turned off the burner.
Joshua wasn’t happy about her barging in and was just about to say something.
But Xylia was already pulling him out of the kitchen.
“Mrs. Baldwin, sorry to trouble you, but could you clean up the kitchen?” Xylia said, her tone full of apology.
Mrs. Baldwin had been dying to get in there, wondering just how much of a disaster Joshua had left behind.
She mumbled a quick reply to Xylia and rushed into the kitchen.
Xylia dragged Joshua into the bedroom, pointed at the bathroom, and said, “Go clean yourself up.”
Joshua knew he’d screwed up. He looked at Xylia quietly, hoping she wasn’t too mad.
Noticing she didn’t seem angry, he grabbed his clothes and made his way to the bathroom.
Xylia watched Joshua putting on a brave face as he walked away, and could only sigh inwardly.
‘Why is he suddenly acting like a little kid?‘ she wondered.
She couldn’t read him at all anymore–she had absolutely no idea what he’d do next.
She sat on the bed, waiting for Joshua to come out.
Joshua finished his shower in no time, and came out in clean clothes just a few minutes later.
His hair was still wet, plastered to his head and dripping water.
Xylia sat him down next to her, grabbed the hair dryer, and started drying his hair.
It all felt so natural.
Joshua, though, seemed a bit awkward.
Every time Xylia got close to him, he couldn’t help but get nervous.
His cheeks flushed.
By the time she finished drying his hair, his reflection in the mirror showed his face was completely red.

Xylia couldn’t help but laugh. She pinched his cheek, leaned in, and wrapped her arms around his neck, teasing him.
“Why are you blushing? We’re married now. Is blow–drying your hair really that flirty for you?” she teased.
As soon as Xylia hugged him, Joshua went completely stiff.
The heat that had just started to fade from his face flared up again in an instant.
“W–What do you mean by flirty?” he stammered.
His mind went completely blank–he couldn’t think at all.
He wanted to push Xylia away, but he felt frozen, unable to even move a muscle.
Xylia didn’t keep teasing him. She loosened her embrace and let her arms fall away.
She turned and walked over to Joshua, resting against the table as she looked at him.
“Alright, spill it. Why did you go into the kitchen?” Her voice turned serious.
The sudden switch to a serious topic, along with the way she was looking at him, made Joshua feel like he was being interrogated.
For some reason he couldn’t explain, Joshua felt a wave of guilt.
But when he remembered why he’d gone into the kitchen, there was no way he could actually tell her the real reason.
‘If I said anything, she’d totally make fun of me, he thought.
He kept a straight face and said, “I just wanted to make something to eat.”
‘It’s not like I was trying to show her I’m not totally useless in the kitchen,‘ he told himself.
Xylia looked at Joshua with narrowed eyes, giving him a suspicious look.
Joshua looked away, avoiding her gaze.
In the end, Xylia looked like she’d figured something out, but she didn’t say anything–she just turned and walked off.
If she’d just said something, it would’ve been fine. But her just walking away like that left Joshua with questions swirling in his mind.
‘What was that supposed to mean?‘ Joshua thought to himself.
He stood there, dumbfounded for a couple seconds, then followed her downstairs.
By the time they got downstairs, Eliza and Aaron were already there, carrying Luna in.
Luna had grown so much–her big eyes sparkled, and her cheeks were so soft and plump, it looked like they might burst with water if you squeezed them.
As soon as Luna saw Xylia, she started babbling and reached out her little hands toward her.
Eliza smiled and handed Luna over to Xylia.
“This little one is definitely going to be a total momma’s girl when she grows up–her mom’s little darling, Eliza said with a

smile.
Xylia took Luna into her arms, smiling as she soothed her.
“My Luna can be a momma’s girl all she wants. I’ll spoil her for life,” Xylia whispered, teasing her daughter.
Luna giggled in response.
When Joshua came downstairs, he walked in on this heartwarming scene.
Xylia and Luna were bathed in warm light, so beautiful they looked like angels.
Joshua felt a flutter in his chest and walked over to them.
Xylia just held Luna naturally, looking at him.
‘Look, Daddy’s here,” she said, her voice soft and warm.
Joshua reached out and gently touched Luna’s cheek, a smile tugging at his lips before he even realized it.

Eliza looked over at Joshua and teased with a grin, “Son, if you ever want to learn how to cook, just tell me. I’ll find some time to teach you.”
Joshua winced as Eliza brought up what just happened in the kitchen, and his face soured.
He turned away a bit, trying to hide how awkward he felt.
If I’m going to learn, I’d rather ask Dad,” Joshua teased, glancing at Eliza.
Honestly, Dad’s cooking is way better than Mom’s.
You little brat!” Eliza huffed.
She couldn’t help but give him a playful slap on the shoulder.
Aaron watched the scene with a smile, but deep down, he couldn’t help feeling a bit down inside.
Joshua used to be great both at work and in the kitchen, but ever since he lost his memory, he has to learn everything all over again–business stuff, cooking, you name it.
Looks like I’ll be stuck doing all the cooking again, Aaron thought.
Just thinking about it gave him a headache.
Mrs. Baldwin quickly tidied up the kitchen and whipped up a whole table of food.
By the time the whole family finished eating, it was already nine o’clock.
They almost never ate dinner this late–thanks to Joshua, tonight was an exception.
After settling Luna into her crib, Xylia noticed Joshma was busy on the phone, so she decided to turn in for the night herself
Joshua stood on the balcony, taking a call from his assistant.
On the other end, David spoke with utmost respect.

“Mr. Garcia, we’ve located Noelle,” David reported.
In the dim light, Joshua’s eyes glinted with a dangerous light.
