Chapter 379
Joshua held Nia in his arms, noticing that Cyrus hadn’t answered Xylia.
He turned around, shielding Nia from Cyrus.
“My wife is talking to you,” Joshua said coldly.
Joshua’s tone was frosty, not a trace of respect for his second brother.
Cyrus’s expression soured in an instant.
Xylia grinned and pulled Joshua over, joining in with her brothers to poke fun at Cyrus.

“I heard that girl still hasn’t agreed to go out with you, Cyrus. What is it about you she can’t stand? Is it your dull personality or the fact you’re always buried in work?” Xylia teased.
Hudson and Leon cracked up.
Even Kaden turned his head away, unable to hide a smile.
Rosalind and Mia exchanged glances and shared a quiet laugh.
Cyrus’s face went from pale to dark and back again.
Getting mad at Xylia was out of the question, so he fixed his gaze on Joshua instead.
Before Joshua lost his memory, he was super respectful to them, always calling them “brother” just to get on Xylia’s good side.
Now, he didn’t even bother with the “brother” stuff, let alone basic
respect.
He was seriously pissed off.
Then Cyrus seemed to think of something, and his attitude toward Joshua suddenly mellowed.
He leaned over and whispered something in Joshua’s ear.
Joshua’s expression darkened, and he shot Cyrus a deadly glare.
Cyrus, now in high spirits, strolled over to the sofa and sat down.
Xylia looked at Joshua, curiosity written all over her face.
“What did Cyrus say to you?” she asked.
Joshua’s face softened as he met Xylia’s gaze, a little embarrassed
He shook his head. “It’s nothing”
He handed Nia over to Xylia. “Here, take her. I need to have a word with Cyrus.”
Xylia watched as Joshua signaled to Cyrus with a look.
Cyrus followed Joshua out to the yard.

Xylia, curious, started to follow them, but Kaden called out to her.
“Cyrus isn’t going to hurt Joshua. Bring Nia over here so I can see her,” Kaden said.
Xylia finally stopped and brought Nia over to Kaden.
Hudson pulled out a toy car he’d been keeping just for Nia and waved it in front of her.
“Nia, this is from your Uncle Hudson. When you’re older, I’ll teach you how to be a race car driver!”
Leon gave Hudson a playful kick.

“Nia’s a girl–why would she want to mess around with racing? She should learn acting with me! With how gorgeous she is, she’s bound to be a superstar someday. She’ll be the next big star, just like her third uncle!”
The thought made Leon crack up.
Mia tugged Leon aside by the ear.
“The entertainment industry is way too chaotic. Nia should steer clear of it. Being a designer like her mom would be perfect,” Mia said.
Leon clutched his ear, glaring at Mia in annoyance.
“With me watching out for Nia, I’d like to see anyone in showbiz try to mess with her!” Leon shot back.
“Shut up,” Mia snapped.
One look from Mia, and Leon instantly clammed up.
Seeing that, Xylia couldn’t help but laugh.
Leon used to be her idol, someone she thought was way out of reach.
But then she found out he was her brother, and his real personality was nothing like the one on screen. Now, with Mia around, he acts all fierce, but around family, he’s just a big softie–especially when Mia’s there
Seriously, he was just too cute.
Kaden couldn’t help but shake his head as he watched Nia clutch his finger and giggle.
His lips curled into a soft smile, and Kaden’s usual bossy vibe faded away.
He said quietly, “Nia, when you grow up, you should be a businesswoman–independent and talented just like your Aunt
Rosalind
Hudson and Leon stared at Kaden like they’d just seen a ghost.
Xylia was just as stunned. She never imagined her usually silent, always the family head big brother would say something to mushy
Rosalind smacked Kaden on the back of the head.
“You’re really no different from your third brother, she joked
Kaden felt embarrassed in front of his siblings and wanted to talk back, but he woukhy’t dare lose his temper with Rosalind

So he just swallowed his pride and kept quiet.
Rosalind looked at Nia, her eyes soft and full of love.

“When Nia grows up, she gets to decide for herself. As long as she’s happy, that’s all that matters,” Rosalind said softly.
Nia giggled right on cue.
The adults went quiet for a couple seconds, then laughed along with her.
The whole scene in the living room was just pure warmth and happiness.
Xylia gently pinched the little one’s cheek.
“Rosalind’s right. All I want is for our little princess to grow up healthy and happy,” Xylia said, giving Nia a gentle pinch on the cheek.
When Joshua and Cyrus finally came back, it had already been half an hour.
Both of them looked pretty much the same as before.
Clearly, they still weren’t seeing eye to eye.
Xylia glanced at Joshua, a little worried.
“Everything alright?” Xylia asked, concern in her voice.
Joshua shook his head and reached out to ruffle Xylia’s hair.
“Don’t worry. Not worth my time arguing with Cyrus,” he said.
Cyrus overheard and snorted, “You itching for a lesson, kid?”
Joshua shot him a cold glare.
“Think you’ve got the guts to mess with me?” Joshua shot back.
Xylia was right by Joshua’s side.
Cyrus glanced at Xylia, gritting his teeth at Joshua even harder.
Watching the two squabble like grade–schoolers, Xylia couldn’t help but feel relieved.
She chimed in with a laugh to break the tension.
“Come on, you two are adults now. Don’t act like kids. Mom and Dad should be back soon with the groceries. Let’s start getting things ready, she said.
When the Sadler family showed up today. Eliza was over the moon.
She dragged Aaron out the door, saying they needed to pick up some food for a barbecue in the backyard.
She said it had been ages since the house was this lively, and today was the perfect chance for the whole family to get together.
