Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 114

At Tristan's words, Jeanette and the others shot Raelynn strange, assessing looks. Raelynn felt a wave of awkwardness as she lifted her head.

Matilda, however, remained warm, turning the screen to face her. "We're all here. Your brother and Lynnie are right here."

Caught off guard, Raelynn locked eyes with Tristan through the screen. He looked exactly the same as she remembered. The bright lights of his European office illuminated a face that shared a striking, albeit softer, resemblance to Sebastian's.

"You've lost weight," Tristan said, breaking the silence.

Raelynn rubbed her ear nervously. "I'm alright. Just been a bit busy lately."

Tristan chuckled softly. "You haven't changed. Make sure you take care of yourself. Don't always put everyone else first."

A rare sense of warmth blossomed in Raelynn's chest. She and Tristan had gone to the same high school; he was her senior. Back then, Tristan was the one who introduced her to the Croix family. When Matilda suffered a sudden health crisis, Raelynn happened to be there and stabilized her with acupuncture. After that, the family frequently invited her over and even funded her university tuition.

To Raelynn, Tristan felt more like a supportive older brother. Compared to the rest of the cold, calculating Croix family, he was incredibly approachable and kind.

"I will, you too," Raelynn said, offering a genuine, radiant smile.

Only then did Tristan look toward Sebastian. "Sebastian, when you have a moment, let's discuss the Northern European strategy?"

Sebastian finally looked up, his expression unreadable but exuding a quiet dominance. He offered a faint smirk. "Sure."

The holiday pleasantries dragged on, but Tristan's call definitely lifted the room's atmosphere, especially for Matilda, whose joy was impossible to hide. Tristan was the only son of the third branch and Matilda's absolute favorite grandson. He had gone to Northern Europe years ago alongside the old Chairman to expand their markets.

Since he still had work to finish, the call ended shortly after.

But the conversation didn't stop there. Suddenly, Jeanette looked at Raelynn with a sharp smile. "Lynnie, do you and Tristan keep in touch? You two were so close in school. Back then, we all thought you and Tristan would end up together..."

The massive private dining room plunged into absolute silence. Even Raelynn froze.

"What a total failure," Brenda thought. Seven years of marriage, and she couldn't even keep her husband's attention from wandering. Even worse, when faced with rumors of his wife's infidelity, the man couldn't care less. Was there a more pathetic woman on earth?

Matilda quickly smoothed it over. "Nothing. The hotel is hosting some entertainment tonight. Why don't you take Lynnie to have some fun? It's very lively today, and I heard they're doing intimate games for couples. You two should go enjoy yourselves."

Sebastian instinctively ran his thumb over his phone screen. Something—or someone—made him hesitate. After several seconds of silence, he finally replied, "Alright."

Raelynn didn't miss his hesitation. Her eyes flickered, and she offered a silent, bitter smile. Matilda was worrying over nothing. Sebastian would never care, let alone get jealous.

The rest of the table had clearly noticed Sebastian's reaction as well, and they quickly lost interest, changing the subject. If the husband didn't even care about his wife's romantic history, why should they waste their breath?

The rest of the meal tasted like ash in Raelynn's mouth. If Sebastian hadn't tricked her into coming down here, she would have been on a video call with Lily by now. But since they were staying at the same hotel, storming out would have caused a massive scene. Adulthood was exhausting; you always had to consider the social fallout.

Finally, dinner ended.
