Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 133

She kept her eyes locked on Sebastian, watching for any shift in his expression.

For a split second, Sebastian's eyes narrowed imperceptibly. Raelynn couldn't tell if it was her imagination, but a fleeting trace of amusement seemed to dance in his gaze, making her doubt what she saw.

"Is running to Matilda the best you can do?" he asked, his voice a slow drawl.

Raelynn took it as a taunt, assuming he was mocking her for relying on his grandmother to fight her battles.

"If it gets the job done, who cares about the method?" Raelynn fired back without missing a beat. "That's a lesson I learned from you."

Sebastian's eyes darkened.

Seraphina's face paled as well.

She knew exactly what kind of temper Matilda Croix had. The old woman had fought alongside the late chairman in the corporate world; her vision and ruthlessness were legendary. If Sebastian hadn't been shielding Seraphina from Matilda's wrath all this time, she would have been crushed long ago.

If Raelynn went back and exaggerated the situation, Matilda would undoubtedly make Seraphina's life a living hell.

How could Raelynn be so utterly shameless as to use the old lady as a weapon!

Raelynn didn't feel an ounce of guilt.

If Sebastian was willing to snatch his own daughter's education away for his mistress's brother, she wasn't going to let Lily suffer in silence.

The atmosphere grew thick with tension.

Even the principal hesitated, shifting uncomfortably. From their brief exchange, he realized the relationships here were incredibly messy... Who was the actual wife?

But the answer quickly became obvious to him. Since the dawn of time, there were always men who blindly favored the other woman over their own wives.

He shot Raelynn a look of pity. It was clear who didn't hold the power here.

"Forget it. Shane never liked fighting with people for things anyway," Seraphina suddenly interjected. She shot Raelynn a cold glare. Ruining her relationship with Sebastian over a Hudson family kid was incredibly stupid.

Chloe let out a sharp laugh.

Shane had gone to the restroom, leaving Seraphina and Sebastian waiting in the corridor.

Seraphina was furious on the inside but masked it perfectly, offering a helpless sigh. "I'm sorry. If it weren't for me, Raelynn wouldn't have used your grandmother to threaten you."

Even though Raelynn took the spot back, Seraphina felt a twisted sense of satisfaction.

She could tell Sebastian only gave it back to protect her. Raelynn couldn't even compare.

"It's fine," Sebastian said, checking his watch. He dismissed the matter effortlessly.

The kindergarten grounds were expansive.

The kids were out playing during their recess, their laughter echoing cheerfully across the yard.

He watched the tiny figures running across the playground, lost in thought.

Just as he was about to walk down the steps, a little figure bounced out from around the corner without looking and crashed right into his leg.
