Chloe directed her team with methodical precision. Raelynn sat nearby, quietly admiring how intensely focused her friend was in work mode.
A short while later, the assistant rushed over, looking panicked. "Chlo, Ms. Vance is here."
Chloe waved a hand dismissively. "So she's here. She's not the Queen. Do I need to roll out a red carpet?"
The assistant shook her head frantically. "No! It's not just her! The big boss of Croix Holdings, Sebastian Croix, is with her! Management just told us that Mr. Croix is actually going to appear on camera alongside her!"
Raelynn's hand froze on the schedule.
A flash of shock crossed her eyes.
Sebastian universally despised public events.
Countless journalists practically begged for a single interview, only to be ruthlessly shut down.
And now...
He was willing to go on television just to accompany Seraphina? To play backup and elevate her status?
Chloe's face drained of color.
She immediately understood the implications, just as Raelynn did.
She gritted her teeth. "What the hell is Sebastian playing at?"
Raelynn lowered her eyes, her thumb absently rubbing her left ring finger. She had taken off the wedding band a while ago, but after seven years, the faint indent remained.
It hadn't completely faded.
It was a constant, humiliating reminder.
"He investigates everything related to Seraphina, including the shows she appears on. He must know you're the producer, and he probably guessed you'd try to cut her screen time to limit her exposure. So... he came in person. With him sitting there, the network will treat her like royalty. They'll give her VIP treatment and endless close-ups."
Raelynn genuinely didn't care how sickeningly sweet Sebastian and Seraphina acted together, but Chloe had a point.
Lily would likely see this broadcast.
As the little girl grew up, having this permanent footage out there meant she would eventually realize how toxic, broken, and humiliating her mother's marriage was. It would severely damage Lily's worldview.
Raelynn gave Chloe's hand a reassuring squeeze.
She turned to the assistant. "Where are they now?"
The assistant knew Raelynn was Chloe's best friend and answered honestly, pointing down the hall. "They're in The Makeup Room. All the guests have to get ready there. Mr. Croix is with Ms. Vance."
Chloe looked at her worriedly. "What are you going to do?"
Raelynn rubbed the faint ring mark on her finger, as if trying to scrub it away. "I'm going to talk to him."

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...

I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
