Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 18

"A brilliant prodigy and a titan of industry—they're a match made in heaven!"

"To think a man as powerful as Mr. Croix came to pick up his wife in person. They're so in love; it's honestly making me jealous."

The voices were loud, drilling straight into Raelynn's ears. She didn't want to listen, but she couldn't help reflecting on the past.

In their seven years of marriage, had Sebastian ever picked her up from work?

Had they ever attended a public event together?

Had he ever publicly acknowledged her as his wife?

Indeed... never.

And now, she was watching Sebastian grant all those special privileges to another woman.

From the corner of her eye, Seraphina noticed Raelynn being forced to watch from the sidelines.

Regarding the questions about being "Mrs. Croix," she offered no denial.

She simply smiled warmly at Sebastian as he approached.

Sebastian met her gentle smile and gave a faint smirk in response.

A young woman in the crowd immediately covered her face and squealed, "Oh my God! They are so real!"

Seraphina heard it too, and her smile widened.

She casually looped her arm through Sebastian's and spoke with graceful poise. "I'm so sorry, everyone, but we have dinner reservations. That concludes the interviews for today."

Sebastian had obviously heard the crowd calling Seraphina his wife.

He didn't go out of his way to confirm it.

But he certainly made no effort to deny it, either. Seeing the crush of people, he raised an arm to shield Seraphina, keeping her safe within his orbit.

He gave a sharp nod, his voice low but commanding. "Please watch your surroundings and avoid pushing anyone."

Looking at this picture-perfect couple.

Raelynn profoundly felt Seraphina's total confidence.

Even with the legal wife watching, she didn't flinch.

Because she had the absolute certainty of being his favorite.

She wasn't worried that Raelynn would rush up and shatter the illusion, because Sebastian would never let Seraphina be humiliated.

If anything, Raelynn looked like the clueless third wheel forcing her way between them.

Even though they were about to divorce.

The bystanders instantly turned on Raelynn: "Yeah, the kid's dying, stop getting in the way!"

"Miss, you clearly have no idea, but Ms. Vance is a top medical graduate. And she's Mr. Croix's girlfriend—wait, I mean wife! Regular people can't compare to her. Don't block her way."

The comments almost made Raelynn laugh.

Was she supposed to join the crowd and cheer for how perfect they were together?

Clamping a hand over her waist to manage the sharp pain, Raelynn cast a freezing glare at Seraphina, who was now kneeling in front of the child, doing a basic examination.

The mother was out of her mind with panic, crying so hard she could barely hold the little girl.

Sebastian stood at the edge of the crowd.

His gaze flicked over her, but he didn't step forward.

Raelynn knew he had seen her get shoved to the ground.

But since he couldn't care less about her, he obviously wasn't going to lend a hand.

He was just a spectator.

She didn't expect an ounce of pity from her soon-to-be ex-husband anyway, so she pushed herself up off the pavement.
