Who could have guessed that Sebastian would choose this exact spot to celebrate his newfound freedom?
"He's throwing a celebration party?" Chloe seethed, letting out a humorless laugh. "It's like he couldn't wait to get rid of you! What the hell did you ever do to him?!"
Her blood boiled, and she looked ready to tear the place apart.
They had specifically come here to unwind and celebrate Raelynn's good news.
Instead, they ran straight into this toxic garbage!
Raelynn turned her head, taking in the unusual ambiance of the bistro.
No wonder.
Romantic floral arrangements were meticulously placed everywhere.
It was a glaring testament to the host's ecstatic mood.
If she stayed, she'd only ruin his perfect little fairytale.
"Let's just go somewhere else." Raelynn scanned the room, noting the excessive effort put into the decor. She patted Chloe's shoulder, completely unbothered.
An ex-wife and an ex-husband throwing parties in the same venue was absurd anyway.
More importantly, Lily was on her way.
There was absolutely no reason to pick a fight over this.
Chloe knew she was right. She aggressively flipped off the second floor before storming out to get the car.
While Chloe retrieved the vehicle, Raelynn waited by the entrance, preparing to walk down the alleyway.
Suddenly, she found herself face-to-face with Sebastian and Seraphina walking side-by-side.
They were deep in conversation. Although Seraphina was doing most of the talking, Sebastian was listening intently, the corner of his mouth occasionally ticking upward.
Raelynn could almost read a trace of pure indulgence on his face.
Perhaps her gaze was too heavy, because Sebastian suddenly looked over, their eyes unexpectedly locking.
He stopped dead in his tracks.
Her casual, razor-sharp insult had effortlessly humiliated both of them at once.
Raelynn genuinely had zero interest in wasting another second on them.
They were divorced.
She wasn't going to waste her breath.
She needed to get out of there. Preston had just texted her that he and Lily were already waiting at the end of the alley.
She hadn't told Preston about the restaurant situation yet.
She breezed right past the two of them, heading straight for the street.
She didn't even spare them a second glance.
Seraphina scowled.
Raelynn's vulgar attitude was exactly what one would expect from someone raised in the countryside. It was no wonder she had never managed to win Sebastian's heart. What man would want a woman like that?
She looped her arm through Sebastian's and studied his face. Satisfied that he hadn't given Raelynn another look, she smiled sweetly. "Sebastian, go on inside. I left my bag in the car."

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
