"Besides, your birthday is coming up. I can't let you spend it all alone." He finalized the plan.
Raelynn agreed.
As for Chloe.
She planned to grab the raw documentary footage once they returned from Seaport City.
She knew exactly how she was going to handle the Shane incident.
Raelynn and Preston booked their tickets and flew to Seaport City that same day.
They visited a few major hospitals and scouted several pioneering smart medical companies.
After getting a solid grasp of the market, they finally arrived at the resort hotel Luke had booked.
It was the most luxurious hotel in the city, boasting panoramic ocean views from the windows. She had her eye on a premium ocean-view suite featuring an indoor pool. Though she couldn't swim, the environment was visually stunning.
The only drawback was the hefty price tag.
Since it was a rare vacation, Raelynn bit the bullet and paid for the suite out of her own pocket.
She booked the room online and arrived at the front desk with Preston to check in.
The receptionist checked her reservation and instantly flashed an apologetic smile. "I am so sorry, ma'am, but that suite is no longer available. We are currently at high capacity. Would you be willing to switch to another room?"
Raelynn was confused. "I booked it online. How can it not be available?"
Preston glanced over. "This is an error on the hotel's part, isn't it?"
The receptionist looked embarrassed. "There was an unexpected situation. The suites with that specific vantage point are extremely limited. Aside from the two-thousand-dollar room you booked, the only one left with that view is the Presidential Suite, which goes for tens of thousands a night."
Raelynn immediately understood.
The "unexpected situation" was simply that someone had pulled strings and stolen her room.
She looked at the receptionist, not wanting to make her life difficult. "So you're saying, if I want that specific ocean view, my only option is the Presidential Suite?"
Sebastian hadn't even transferred the divorce settlement yet.
But even if she had that kind of money lying around.
She wouldn't set it on fire for a single night's stay.
Did they think she didn't know the Presidential Suite was better?
"My reservation is fully confirmed. The hotel needs to sort this out and give me a satisfactory resolution." Raelynn wasn't a pushover.
She wasn't about to swallow this unfair treatment silently.
