Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 257

But he had never once imagined she was Ian's daughter.

The realization struck him like a physical blow to the chest, leaving him breathless and reeling.

Beside him, Julian stood frozen, staring at the scene in utter shock.

He had hoped it was all some bizarre misunderstanding, but seeing a living, breathing child obliterated any doubts. His mind short-circuited, leaving his face completely drained of color.

Sebastian reacted faster. His gaze hardened, and he immediately stepped off the curb, moving straight toward them.

From inside the car, Raelynn saw everything.

Her heart plummeted.

She hadn't expected Sebastian to be there.

She froze, quickly snapping her seatbelt back into place.

A wave of immense relief washed over her that she hadn't stepped out to greet Ian.

If Sebastian caught her bringing a child to see Ian late at night, his terrifyingly sharp mind would immediately start connecting the dots.

She kept her head down, desperately trying to remain invisible.

When she saw Sebastian aggressively marching toward Ian and Lily, panic seized her throat. If he got closer, he would definitely see her in the car.

Her mind raced for an escape route.

Suddenly, a voice rang out.

"Sebastian, wait!"

Seraphina had only taken two steps before she stumbled dramatically. "Ouch! I twisted my ankle!" She immediately latched onto Sebastian's arm, leaning heavily against him. "Please, can you just take me home?"

Sebastian was forced to stop and look at her.

In that exact second.

An engine roared to life.

Julian was still spiraling. "I was an idiot to let my guard down! Someone actually swooped in and took advantage! Ian already has a kid this big? He knocked someone up years ago!"

The arranged marriage between the Hudson and Yves families was common knowledge among the elite.

What Julian absolutely could not stomach was the realization that Ian had seemingly never intended to wait for his sister at all.

Sebastian's voice was dark and flat. "How can you be so sure your sister is even around Kingsford?"

The question dragged Julian back to the painful history of the Yves family.

His mother had severed ties with the family, taking his baby sister, who wasn't even two years old at the time. Later, news of his mother's death surfaced, but the trail for his sister went entirely cold in Kingsford. She had vanished like a ghost.

For the past couple of years, he had been searching blindly around the city.

It was the entire reason his grandmother, Dr. Evelyn Hayes—a woman who famously despised socializing—had started making frequent public appearances. She was desperately searching, too.

"I don't know for sure. It's just a gut feeling," Julian growled, his temper flaring. "But I'm going to dig into Ian's life. Even if we break the engagement, the Yves family will be the ones to do it. I want to know exactly what kind of woman had the nerve to have a kid with him and steal my sister's future husband."
