Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 266

"Careful."

Raelynn had been wandering around out of sheer boredom. Not knowing anyone at the party, she had no choice but to take a walk by herself.

She narrowly avoided colliding with the elderly man.

Before she could even register what was happening, the old man suddenly grabbed her hand, his eyes wide with excitement. "It really is you, young lady!"

Raelynn stared at him in confusion.

She didn't know this man at all.

Seeing the blank look in her eyes, Louis Flynn realized she didn't remember him in the slightest. He quickly prompted her, "The mountain resort. The free clinic. You saved an old man. That was me! Do you remember now?"

With that reminder, it all clicked into place.

Raelynn remembered the patient who had vomited all over her.

Her eyes widened in surprise. "What are you doing here?"

All of Louis's previous fury vanished in an instant. "It's my birthday today! Tell me, what's your name, dear? Did Leo invite you? Or are you here representing one of the families?"

He figured if Raelynn wasn't personally invited by Leo, she had to be representing a prominent family.

And he would definitely know her family.

"I..."

"Sir, the VIPs have arrived. You need to come greet them," Mr. Lawson interrupted urgently, keeping his voice low.

Raelynn caught fragments of the steward mentioning high-ranking officials.

Louis's expression grew serious. He turned back to Raelynn with an earnest look. "My dear, I'll have someone seat you in the VIP section. Grandpa will come find you later, alright?"

Raelynn nodded.

Only then did Louis hurry off with his steward.

Watching the old man walk away, Raelynn couldn't help but marvel at the wild coincidence. To think the man she saved was Leo Flynn's own grandfather. But the moment she thought of Leo...

She frowned in distaste.

The guy was nothing but a spoiled rich kid blindly devoted to Seraphina Vance.

She turned and headed toward the main hall.

But since Louis Flynn had offered her a spot in the VIP section, she naturally made her way over.

The moment she approached the table, she met Seraphina's frigid glare.

Seraphina looked her up and down, her gaze zeroing in on the brooch pinned to Raelynn's chest. Her expression instantly soured. "Take that brooch off. It's inappropriate."

Raelynn hadn't expected to be slapped with an arrogant demand the second she sat down.

Just as she was about to snap back, another woman at the table chimed in. "What a coincidence. It's exactly the same as Mr. Croix's brooch."

Raelynn immediately glanced over at the man sitting regally at the table, casually sipping his tea.

Pinned to the lapel of his dark suit was the exact same half-butterfly wing, the sapphire glittering brilliantly under the lights.

From a neighboring table, a woman shot Raelynn a nasty look. "That's a limited-edition couple's piece from a top luxury brand. Only eighteen pairs were made globally. They're incredibly hard to get. But... the odds of accidentally matching someone else's boyfriend are practically zero."

The implication was as loud as a siren: she was blatantly accusing Raelynn of doing it on purpose to stir up drama.

Everyone here tonight knew exactly who Sebastian was, and they all saw Seraphina glued to his side. For another woman to suddenly appear, wearing the matching couple's piece, and sit at their table? Nobody believed in that kind of coincidence.

"Exactly. Mr. Croix's sapphire matches Ms. Vance's blue dress perfectly. It's clearly meant for her, not you..."
