Soon after, Raelynn received the notification.
Sebastian's funds had cleared.
Not a penny short, right on the dot.
She let out a soft scoff.
The moment Seraphina's demands were met and her problems solved, the money arrived incredibly fast.
It was as if he had "I'm protecting Seraphina" stamped across his forehead.
Now that the money was in, she didn't need to worry about the rest.
She certainly didn't go visit Sebastian again.
He had far too many people caring for him. There was no room for her, and she had no desire to join the circus anyway.
When the day of the party arrived.
Raelynn drove to the Yves Garden Estate.
The Yves family's properties in the city were astonishingly expansive.
This estate alone covered a massive stretch of land.
By the time Raelynn arrived, guests were already streaming in and out.
Chloe had gotten there early and was waiting by the entrance. Seeing Raelynn, she rushed over. "My brother is stuck in a meeting. He'll be here later. Let's head inside."
Raelynn nodded.
An impressive crowd had gathered today. The Yves family commanded immense respect, and with Dr. Evelyn Hayes hosting, everyone wanted a piece of the action. They were all vying for access to the doctor's vast resources and unmatched connections.
Walking in, Raelynn spotted several recognizable elites from the industry.
"I don't see Quentin Yves..."
Raelynn turned her head. "Who is Quentin Yves?"
Chloe lowered her voice. "Dr. Hayes's son. Julian's father. The Yves family has enough drama to fill a soap opera. Julian's mother was essentially raised by the Yves family, kind of like a child bride setup. She and Quentin were the model couple in our circle. Who would have thought it would end so explosively? Right after she gave birth, she took the Yves family's baby girl and vanished. They've been missing ever since."
"What happened to them?"
Chloe thought for a moment. "Childhood sweethearts. Their marriage fell apart in less than four years. Supposedly, it was a massive scandal. Dr. Hayes was so furious she exiled her own son abroad. He's only been allowed back in the last couple of years. They nearly severed all ties."
Raelynn was stunned.
