Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 32

Bringing up that humiliating moment was a completely unprovoked attack.

But Raelynn just chewed on the way Seraphina casually tossed around the title 'Brenda.'

Not too long ago, that woman was going to be Seraphina's future mother-in-law.

Now that she was tagging along with Sebastian, she certainly adapted her titles quickly.

It was obvious Seraphina was only bringing it up to mock her under the guise of fake concern.

"I really am sorry. When it comes down to it, you took the fall for me," Seraphina apologized with picture-perfect grace.

Julian couldn't help his curiosity. "What happened?"

Seraphina looked up at Sebastian, who was standing right next to her. "Let's just not talk about it. Sebastian was only trying to protect me at the time."

Watching this nauseating display of mutual affection, Raelynn suddenly wasn't in such a rush to leave.

She nodded in agreement. "Since you admit that I took the fall for you, that means you owe me a slap. Time to pay up."

Without giving anyone a single second to react, Raelynn raised her hand and swung with everything she had.

She aimed a brutal, full-force slap right at Seraphina's beautiful face.

Seraphina's expression morphed into absolute horror.

For a split second, she was too shocked to even flinch.

Raelynn didn't hold back; she threw her entire shoulder into the swing.

But just inches before her hand made contact with Seraphina's cheek, it was forcefully intercepted.

A familiar, warm hand clamped down hard around Raelynn's wrist.

The sudden block completely drained her momentum.

The force of the impact rebounded up Raelynn's arm, sending a dull, throbbing pain straight into her shoulder.

She looked up.

And crashed right into a pair of dark, unfathomable eyes.

Sebastian stared down at her. "Raelynn, enough."

The look in his eyes, his posture, the absolute determination to protect another woman—it snapped Raelynn back to stark reality.

She had almost forgotten.

Her soon-to-be ex-husband was standing right there. Why would he ever let his precious true love get hurt?

When she was humiliated and physically assaulted, Sebastian watched like a casual bystander. But the second anyone dared to touch Seraphina, it was as if someone had triggered his core programming.

To him, Seraphina was the prize, and she was just the obstacle in his way, and apparently, it was her fault for interrupting his little picnic.

Raelynn's eyes burned and stung. She blinked rapidly to ease the discomfort.

It was almost a physical reflex of disgust; even Sebastian holding her wrist right now made her skin crawl.

She yanked her hand free.
