Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 358

Dr. Quinn's question dropped like a bomb, shattering the calm atmosphere.

Sebastian's dark, piercing eyes instantly locked onto Raelynn.

The air was suddenly sucked out of the room.

A cold sweat broke out across Raelynn's back, every hair on her body standing on end.

She never anticipated walking into a trap like this.

The moment the elderly woman grabbed her hand, Raelynn had recognized the expert touch of a master physician. But even with her internal alarms blaring, she had reacted a second too late.

Matilda's expression shifted drastically. "No, she hasn't. How on earth did you come to that conclusion?"

Taking advantage of the shock, Raelynn wrenched her hand away.

Her fingertips were ice-cold.

Worse, Sebastian hadn't stopped staring at her. His gaze felt like a scalpel, effortlessly slicing through her armor and probing at the secret she had so desperately buried.

It made her forget how to breathe normally.

Fighting to keep her face blank, she looked at Dr. Quinn.

Dr. Quinn stared back, visibly perplexed, looking Raelynn up and down. "Your body doesn't lie. That is the true marvel of traditional medicine. There's a distinct difference compared to someone who hasn't. However, Mrs. Croix's pulse is quite faint. Logically speaking, it must have been several years ago."

Raelynn had not prepared for this.

Matilda's schemes always managed to strike exactly where it hurt the most.

Sebastian's face remained utterly impassive, but his stare was practically burning a hole in Raelynn's back. His eyes were cold and clear. "Are you sure you haven't made a mistake?"

Dr. Quinn looked offended. "I have been treating patients and saving lives for decades. I don't make mistakes when reading a pulse."

The tension in the room thickened into concrete.

Matilda suddenly turned to Raelynn, a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. "Maybe you should check again? Raelynn and Sebastian have been married for seven years, and they definitely don't have children."

Raelynn refused to look at him. In the span of a few seconds, her brain was in overdrive, consumed by a suffocating wave of despair.

She wanted to turn and run out the door, consequences be damned.

But she couldn't.

Bolting now would be the equivalent of screaming a confession.

"Here, here, let me feel it again."

Refusing to accept defeat, Dr. Quinn reached out and grabbed Raelynn's hand again without waiting for permission.

Raelynn violently suppressed the urge to snatch her hand away. She knew that the harder she fought it, the more suspicious she would look.

Having studied traditional medicine herself, she knew better than anyone that Dr. Quinn's skills were the real deal.

"Why don't you check Sebastian first? Maybe my pulse is just erratic because I've been overworking myself lately and running on empty," Raelynn suggested, desperately trying to buy time.
