But...
"So you have absolutely no plan?" Leo snapped, kicking a chair in sheer frustration.
He felt bad for her, but his own neck was on the line.
If he didn't fix this, his grandfather would "fix" him.
"Where's Sebastian?" Leo asked, swallowing the urge to scream at her. His family still owed Seraphina a massive debt of gratitude, so he forced himself to endure the collateral damage.
As far as he was concerned, Sebastian was the only one who could clean this up.
Seraphina noticed his hostility. He wasn't giving her his usual gentle treatment.
She bit her lip. "Sebastian is in a meeting. He should be here soon."
This scandal had thoroughly humiliated her in front of the Croix family.
She was more desperate to fix it than anyone.
Cameron Croix was getting released soon.
She knew Cameron was far more unhinged than Sebastian, and she was terrified of the chaos he might bring. She needed to resolve this and secure her place in the family, or at least finalize her relationship with Sebastian before Cameron got out...
Only then would Cameron be too intimidated to challenge his older brother.
The office door swung open again.
Sebastian strode in, his long legs eating up the distance. His striking features were entirely unreadable as he glanced at Leo's furious expression. "How are you going to explain this to the old man?"
The casual question only made Leo's blood boil hotter.
Seraphina hurried over to Sebastian, her pretty face twisted in distress. "Sebastian, how do we make this go away? I don't know what to do."
Sebastian lowered his gaze, then looked toward the hallway. "Come in."
Seraphina and Leo turned around.
Two foreign medical experts from her team walked into the room.
Sebastian took a seat. "These two have agreed to take the fall."
Seraphina instantly understood. They were going to be the scapegoats.
"But even with scapegoats, won't the public still think my equipment caused the accident?"
Sebastian met her eyes. "The surgeon is the son of a very powerful man. If you cross him, you'll be permanently blacklisted from the industry. It's better to do him a favor."
