Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 406

Due to the fallout from Seraphina Vance's medical malpractice scandal, The Antique Exhibition had been thrown together in a rush.

But with Sebastian Croix backing it, everything ran like a well-oiled machine.

Chloe Hudson accompanied Raelynn Ortiz to the antique shop.

It was a standalone brick building.

Three stories high in total.

The business, as well as the property itself, was a legacy passed down through generations of Raelynn's family.

By the time Raelynn arrived,

the parking lot was already packed with luxury cars.

It had been years since she had last set foot on these grounds.

During the time Silas Vance and Blanche had controlled the shop, they had forbidden her from coming near it, let alone stepping inside.

And yet, it was rightfully her family's territory.

Now, the only reason she was here was because the Vances had sent her a provoking, patronizing invitation.

"Does Sebastian have a heart at all? This is just rubbing salt in the wound!" Chloe fumed, glaring at the bustling crowd.

Every single guest here today had shown up just to earn favor with Sebastian.

They had artificially manufactured a grand spectacle out of nothing.

Raelynn stayed silent, simply grabbing her friend's arm and steering her toward the entrance.

However, just as it was their turn to walk through the doors,

Blanche happened to step out. Catching sight of Raelynn, she brushed right past them, a bright smile plastered on her face as she greeted the man in line behind them. "Director Stevens! It's been far too long. Right this way."

As she passed Raelynn, she threw a sickly sweet smile over her shoulder. "We have quite a few VIPs arriving today, so you'll just have to wait your turn. Let them go first."

"You expect us to just stand out here and wait?" Chloe scoffed in disbelief.

It was a blatant, deliberate slight.

They had sent the invitation only to pull a cheap power play.

Not to mention, this shop belonged to Raelynn's family—it belonged to her!

How could she be denied entry to her own property?

Blanche, on the other hand, was in high spirits.

Ignoring Chloe's hostility entirely, she looked at Raelynn. "It won't kill you young people to wait a little longer. Honestly, if I hadn't sent you an invitation, you wouldn't even have the chance to come back here."

With that parting shot,

she turned on her heel and strutted back inside.

Raelynn didn't let her temper flare.

She was terrified that Sebastian would go back on his word and refuse to return the shop to her.

After all, he was willing to do absolutely anything for Seraphina.

She suddenly shot a hard look at Sebastian.

He was scrolling through his phone, but he glanced up, feeling the weight of her stare.

His gaze was utterly placid, like a dark, bottomless pool that gave absolutely nothing away while hinting at every possible danger.

A chill ran down Raelynn's spine.

With Sebastian and Seraphina "leading the way,"

they easily bypassed security and stepped into the main hall.

Raelynn's hands and feet felt like ice as she took in the familiar surroundings.

When she was a little girl, before everything fell apart, she had come here every single day after school to do her homework. Her mother and grandfather would keep a close eye on her, making sure she didn't run around and begging her not to bump into anything fragile.

Most of her childhood had been spent within these very walls.

And now...

Raelynn looked over at Sebastian and Seraphina, who had been immediately swarmed by eager guests the second they walked in.

Seraphina's complexion was radiant as she soaked in the flattery and small talk. "Actually," she announced brightly, "our family plans to auction off fifteen antiques today. Every single dollar of the proceeds will go toward establishing The Charity Foundation, our small way of giving back to society and helping sick children who can't afford medical care. I hope we can count on your support."
