Theon walked over to the bed and leaned over her. "Trying to leave before dinner is even served? My patience is officially gone."
He had originally planned to take his time, knowing he'd get her into bed eventually tonight.
But rejecting him and trying to walk out?
That just completely killed the mood.
Raelynn's gaze was venomous. She bit her lip so hard she tasted blood, using the sharp sting of pain to anchor her slipping consciousness.
A fraction of mobility returned to her limbs.
Seizing the moment he turned to tap his ashes into an ashtray, she refused to give up. Channeling every ounce of strength she had gathered, she scrambled off the bed and shoved Theon backward with everything she had.
Taking a deep breath, she sprinted for the door.
She couldn't rely on anyone else.
She had to save herself.
Thank god he hadn't tied her up.
Just as her fingers brushed the doorknob.
A hand clamped around her arm, yanking her backward. Theon wrapped his arms around her from behind, letting out a dark chuckle. "Still resisting? Then let's do this the hard way."
To him, she was nothing more than prey.
Her struggling just made it more entertaining.
Raelynn's eyes burned.
She was furious, desperate, and filled with a suffocating hatred.
Pure terror clawed at her throat, but she refused to let him see her fear.
As he dragged her back across the room, they passed a rack of golf clubs. Spotting her chance, she grabbed an iron and swung it wildly behind her.
Theon hadn't expected her to fight so fiercely.
Caught off guard, the heavy club cracked against his forearm, sending a shockwave of pain through his bone.
His gentlemanly facade instantly shattered.
His expression turned murderous as he grabbed her throat and slammed her into the carpet. "Matilda Croix told me you were married before. You've been used up already, so cut the innocent act. You brought this on yourself, Raelynn."
He was done playing games.
Ripping the golf club from her grasp, he used his free hand to violently tear at her dress.
With his fingers crushing her windpipe, her lungs burned for air. She turned her head, spotting her phone lying just inches away.
She desperately reached for it.
Unlocking the screen by muscle memory, she opened her recent calls.
The last outgoing call was the one she had made earlier. To Sebastian.
"Bitch!"
Exhausted by the drugs and the dizzying headbutt, Raelynn had absolutely nothing left in her.
A suffocating wave of despair crashed over her.
She watched helplessly as he ripped the fabric of her dress wide open.
In that exact moment.
Bang!
A thunderous crash echoed from the doorway.
The entire room seemed to shake like an earthquake.
It jolted Raelynn from her terrifying stupor.
And it forced Theon to stop.
He whipped his head toward the entrance in shock.
BOOM!
Something heavy was being used as a battering ram against the heavy wood. The ferocity behind the blows felt like they were trying to tear down the entire wall.
It carried an apocalyptic, destructive fury.

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
