Theon's face turned completely white. Every deafening impact made his heart pound against his ribs.
It felt as if those hits were landing directly on him.
Raelynn's vision blurred. With her hair sticking to her sweaty face, she slowly turned her head toward the splintering door.
Finally.
CRACK!
The lock gave way with a sharp, structural snap.
The door burst open.
A tall, imposing figure stepped into the room. Backlit by the hallway lights, she couldn't make out his face.
Before she could even process what was happening.
Theon was violently ripped away from her and hurled across the room.
A second later, a warm suit jacket was thrown over her, covering her head and her torn clothes. The familiar, faint scent wrapped around her, immediately calming her racing pulse.
Theon never even had a chance to defend himself. Sebastian kicked him back down into the carpet. His handsome face was devoid of any emotion as he grabbed Theon by the collar, pulled him up, and brought his fist down. One punch. Two. Three.
Each blow was sickeningly heavy.
The lethal force practically knocked the man out cold.
The sound of shattering bone echoed as blood sprayed across his face.
Sebastian's expression remained terrifyingly blank. He didn't stop, completely uncaring whether Theon was still conscious or not.
Raelynn slowly pulled the jacket down, staring in sheer shock.
She had never seen Sebastian resort to physical violence.
Let alone this absolute, merciless brutality.
He had always been an untouchable figure. Even his coldest moments were polished with aristocratic grace.
Clutching the lapels of his jacket, she pushed herself upright.
She called out his name, "Sebastian."
He didn't hear her.
Raelynn raised her voice, "Sebastian! You're going to kill him."
The tense muscles in his back hesitated for a fraction of a second before his fist came down once more.
By the time Julian arrived with the master keycard, he walked into a warzone. The heavy, thousand-dollar hotel door hung precariously from its broken hinges.
They had split up—Julian to demand a keycard from management, while Sebastian went straight upstairs.
In that tiny window of time, Sebastian hadn't waited. He'd used a heavy brass statue from the hallway to completely obliterate the reinforced door.
