Leo clicked his tongue. "Am I just a third wheel here?"
Seraphina covered her mouth and giggled. "Stop that..."
Her phone buzzed.
Before the smile could even fade from her face, she saw the text from Preston Moreno.
— [Thank you for your interest. We will certainly keep you in mind for future opportunities.]
Seraphina's expression froze.
"What's wrong?" Sebastian asked, taking a sip of sparkling water, his gaze resting on her face.
Seraphina placed the phone face-down on the table, completely baffled. "NexusMind rejected my partnership proposal."
"Rejected you? Their management team has standards that high?" Leo was shocked.
"Did they give a reason?" Sebastian asked thoughtfully.
Seraphina pursed her lips. "No. Just standard corporate polite talk."
She looked intensely at Sebastian, who remained as composed as ever. "Sebastian, what should I do? NexusMind's backing is critical for me."
Sebastian poured her a glass of water and offered a reassuring tone. "Don't worry. It's an easy fix."
Hearing this, Seraphina instantly felt at ease.
Looking at Sebastian's handsome, aristocratic features, a sweet joy flooded her heart.
She knew Sebastian would take care of everything for her.
Leo couldn't help but clap as he looked at the two of them. "Alright, alright, rubbing it in my face, aren't you? Is it too late to gauge my own eyes out?"

Raelynn gradually settled into a steady rhythm at work.
The near future was going to be a crucial period for bonding with her team.
NexusMind had received quite a few invitations, including one for the biennial National Medical Excellence Gala hosted in Kingsford.
Many renowned masters of traditional medicine would be in attendance.
Preston planned to bring Raelynn along so she could start showing her face in the industry.
Raelynn deliberately drove her new car.
With a smooth turn, she parked right in front of Preston.
Preston gave her a thumbs up. "Look at you, Boss Ortiz. Rolling in money."
Raelynn smirked. "Free money feels amazing to spend."
When a fortune drops in your lap, it's a waste not to enjoy it.
They arrived at the venue.
There was a heavy media presence.
As the sole heir to Covenant Medical, Preston drew a lot of attention. Reporters and industry peers quickly swarmed him.
A highlight of the evening was a live diagnostic session.
Raelynn found it pretty interesting.
Coincidentally, a white-bearded elder looked at Raelynn and waved with a smile. "Young lady, let me take a look at you."
Raelynn figured she still had a lot to learn, so she sat down.
"Sure, let's see what you find," she said with a bright smile, extending her wrist.
The elder stroked his beard and rested his fingers against her wrist, closing his eyes to sense the deeper rhythms beneath her skin.
After a few moments, he said, "You're smiling, but your body shows emotional stagnation. Have you been stressed lately? Feeling a lot of anger?"
Raelynn laughed, her dimples showing, and nodded enthusiastically like a little kid. "I had a run-in with some absolute trash lately, and the stench is still following me around."
Preston couldn't hold back a laugh.
Right at that moment, Seraphina and Sebastian walked past them from behind.
Hearing this, Seraphina's expression turned ice-cold.
Did she really think Seraphina didn't know Raelynn was taking a jab at them?
The Elder Physician chuckled and shook his head, then continued, "Your rhythm is faint. Consistent, but strangely vacant. It’s as if your vitality was drained long ago and never fully replenished... have you given birth?"
At those words, Raelynn nearly bit her tongue.
From behind them, Sebastian narrowed his eyes and suddenly spoke up. "What makes you say that?"
