"Did you see the news? Those 'affectionate' photos of us. Considering where we are right now, it's highly inappropriate. I assume you feel the same way. Please have the article taken down. For you, it's just one phone call..."
Before she could finish—
Beep beep beep—
The line went dead.
He hadn't spoken a single syllable.
Raelynn suddenly felt a suffocating tightness in her chest.
The sheer helplessness morphed into rage—the fury of being so blatantly disrespected.

The Tea Room.
A waiter approached to serve dessert and accidentally bumped Sebastian's elbow.
Sebastian's finger slipped and hit the end-call button.
His expression didn't shift. He simply placed the phone down on the table.
He had zero intention of calling back.
The waiter quickly apologized, "I'm so sorry, Mr. Croix. I slipped..."
"It's fine," Sebastian said, taking a slow sip of his drink.
Next to him, Leo Flynn looked heavily burdened and in a foul mood.
He had just gotten out of confinement.
The old man was notoriously fair but brutal with punishments.
He was merciless, even to his own grandson.
Leo was now in deep trouble, demoted and essentially "exiled" to a branch office.
If he didn't want the rest of the Flynn family to devour him alive, he had to figure out a way back to headquarters.
The whole ordeal was giving him a massive headache.
The only person who could help him strategize was Sebastian.
