Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 459

Suddenly.

A sharp, urgent voice sliced through the noise. "Sebastian?"

Raelynn noticed the murmurs of surprise rippling through the crowd.

She turned her head.

Sebastian was striding through the guests, his dark eyes locked onto her with terrifying intensity.

Behind him.

Seraphina's expression was incredibly ugly, her desperate call entirely ignored.

Ian also cast a sideways glance.

The next second.

Sebastian seized Raelynn's wrist in an iron grip. He didn't say a word, his expression colder than it had ever been. "Come with me."

She stared at him in shock.

What on earth was he doing?

Never once in their entire history had he treated her like this in public.

Especially not by rudely interrupting her conversation with Cordelia, entirely discarding his usual impeccable manners.

"Where are we going? Let go of me." Raelynn couldn't break free. Seeing his completely stony face sent an inexplicable wave of anxiety through her.

It felt like a blade was being pressed against her throat.

He didn't loosen his grip.

Without a word, he yanked her forward.

Ian caught Raelynn's other arm, fixing Sebastian with a hard stare. "Mr. Croix, what is the meaning of this?"

A tense standoff instantly formed.

The air practically crackled with hostility.

The guests murmured among themselves, utterly captivated by the drama.

Sebastian slowly turned, his dark eyes coated in a layer of frost. "Do I need Mr. Hudson's permission to handle my private marital affairs?"

Ian narrowed his eyes slightly.

Raelynn, however, saw the dangerous, unhinged edge radiating from Sebastian.

He wasn't the perfect gentleman he pretended to be. To his core, he was ruthless, acting purely on his own whims. When he was patient, he was a flawless, charming aristocrat who could captivate anyone. But once that mask slipped, he left no quarter for survival.

But for years.

She had rarely seen the real him.

Yet at this very moment.

She saw that terrifying side of him again. Even though his tone was flat, she could feel it—he was completely different.

Raelynn took a deep breath and turned to Ian. "It's fine. We just need to talk."

Ian's gaze softened. He looked at her for a moment before slowly releasing her arm. "If there's a problem, let me know immediately."

"I will."

His grip tightened uncontrollably.

She tried to yank free several times but failed. She gritted her teeth. "Let me go."

He didn't stop, nor did he respond.

Raelynn finally had enough. "Sebastian, you're hurting me!" she snapped.

His footsteps halted instantly.

Sebastian slowly turned his head, his dark, somber gaze dropping to the hand clasping her wrist.

Inch by inch, the tension in his knuckles finally gave way.

Raelynn swallowed her anger. "Just say what you want to say."

Instead, he kept his eyes fixed on her flat stomach before slowly dragging his gaze back up to her face. A sudden wave of disorientation washed over him.

It was as if the vibrant, living woman standing in front of him had become a mirage, overshadowed by that terrifying Critical Condition Notice.

Rummaging through his memories, he couldn't find a single trace of evidence that she had ever hovered near death on an operating table while giving birth.

She had hidden it perfectly. Not a single slip.

After surviving by a thread, she had worn the mask of normalcy, carrying on with their marriage as if nothing had ever happened.

The darkness in his eyes was enough to instill pure dread.

A cold sweat broke out across Raelynn's back. Instinctively, she took a step backward.

Then, his voice wrapped around her, laced with a terrifying rasp. "Aren't you going to bring the child you secretly gave birth to for me to see?"
