Sierra Yves nodded straightforwardly. "You guys know each other?"
Seraphina Vance smiled lightly. "We're good friends."
Sierra didn't think much of it. She wasn't very familiar with Julian's private affairs, so she just smiled. "What a coincidence."
Seraphina's lips curved. "It's a small world. I've always admired Chairwoman Hayes. I want to join the National Academy of Traditional Medicine to be closer to her and Professor Finch."
Sierra felt this was true. Anyone studying medicine admired those two.
"By the way, is Chairwoman Hayes feeling better now?" Seraphina asked with concern. "It was quite dangerous last time when she had that sudden illness. I helped with some emergency treatment at the time, and it was really terrifying."
Sierra looked at her in surprise. She didn't expect Seraphina to have been involved.
Meeting the girl's clear eyes, Seraphina smiled. "After all, I was there. I couldn't just ignore it. But..."
She frowned slightly, looking somewhat helpless. "It was chaotic then. Another person, just to show off, stopped me from performing deep emergency rescue, almost delaying the crucial time. Fortunately, nothing major went wrong."
Sierra was puzzled for a moment. Another person? She could only think of Raelynn Ortiz.
She didn't know the exact details.
But after thinking about it, she said seriously, "I think there might be a misunderstanding. No doctor can perform with one hundred percent perfection during a rescue, with absolutely zero unexpected situations. If that were the case, doctors would be no different from machines, and patients don't get sick exactly according to medical textbooks. I think as long as the outcome is good, that's what matters."
Anyway, her grandmother was fine, wasn't she? The process wasn't as important as a good result.
Saying that, Sierra smiled, her eyes curving, and waved at Seraphina. "I'm going to grab food now."
Seraphina watched her retreating back, her brows furrowing bit by bit. Displeasure bred inside her.
She didn't expect Sierra to be so open-minded. Although she looked like a girl who grew up in a privileged environment and was naive about the world, she clearly had her own opinions.
Raelynn and Adrian led their team out of the lab. Someone came to the door, carrying a spread of exquisite food and drinks.
"Thank you for your hard work, everyone. Our Mr. Flynn treated you to this."
The visitor announced Leo Flynn's name.
Raelynn looked over and met the eyes of Leo's secretary, who smiled and bowed in greeting.
Raelynn faintly realized that Leo was... aiming this at her? Was this a peace offering?
Seraphina happened to hear this when she walked over. She recognized Leo's secretary.
Looking at the room full of tea and pastries, she smiled and walked over. "Let's share, everyone. A friend of mine sent this. You've worked hard all day, enjoy."

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
