Leo wasn't too surprised to run into Raelynn here, and he even rarely took the initiative to greet her. "Here to negotiate an ad deal?"
Raelynn was only surprised for a second that Leo knew she was here. On second thought, Colin was Leo's friend, so it wasn't strange that Leo's camp would catch wind of the news.

She met Leo's gaze. The man still wore that cynical expression. After being taught a lesson by old Mr. Flynn, he still chose to side with Seraphina.
Raelynn didn't respond. She lifted her leg to leave.
As she passed him, Leo suddenly said, "Don't blame me, either."
He glanced at Raelynn, and ultimately brushed past her.
Raelynn didn't take Leo's attitude to heart. Compared to before, Leo certainly lacked that aggressive hostility, but he probably truly considered Seraphina a friend now.
Leo went upstairs and saw Sebastian and Seraphina still discussing details with Colin. His eyes paused on Seraphina's clearly smiling face for two seconds before he laughed. "How's the chat going?"
Seraphina's lips curved, her tone very gentle. "Leo, thank you so much for pulling the strings for me."
Leo sprawled on the sofa and smiled. "Don't mention it. You're someone Seb values, after all. It's only right to help build your momentum. If this program works out well, those past negative incidents will basically be wiped clean, and you can reach new heights."
Seraphina's heart thrilled, but her face remained impassive. "We still have to see the post-production results."
But she knew very well. This era was just like that. Any scandal or negativity could easily be forgotten with a little maneuvering. The Croix family wouldn't have anything to complain about then.
Leo raised an eyebrow, looking at Sebastian. "Did they agree to the demands? Is Chloe willing to take it?"
Colin smiled helplessly. "Chloe seems a bit unwilling, but I'll try my best to talk to her."
No emotion surfaced on Sebastian's face. As he stood up, he said slowly, "She will agree."
Raelynn and Chloe chatted about the situation at the station. Opportunities for promotion were rare, and it was better than offending management and getting benched.
The next day, at ten in the morning, Raelynn planned to head to Longstride Technologies to confirm some recent business.
Raelynn's expression changed drastically.
The clerk, seeing she genuinely seemed unaware, let her look at the computer screen. "The records here show you are divorced, but the physical document is a forgery."
The noise in her ears grew chaotic. It felt as if ice water had instantly been injected into her veins.
The divorce certificate... was a fake.
Matilda Croix had given her a fake.

Raelynn's breathing suddenly grew heavy. Her hand resting on the counter trembled uncontrollably. Her stunning face was utterly devoid of expression, but her eyes were rimmed with a piercingly cold red.

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
