Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 5

In the beginning, their marriage was anything but harmonious.

Sebastian rarely came home. Having any kind of intimacy twice a month was a luxury.

Let alone actual communication.

But toward the end of their first year, Sebastian was preparing to move to the US branch to lay the groundwork for his eventual takeover of the family empire.

The night before his flight, he came home completely wasted from a business dinner and, for the first time, forgot to use protection.

He was utterly insatiable that night.

That was the first time she realized that when he was drunk enough to not recognize who she was, he wasn't nearly as disciplined as he pretended to be.

Two months after he left for the US, Raelynn realized she was pregnant.

As a doctor, she recognized the symptoms immediately. She was in complete shock.

Back then, she had been naive enough to think: if he really believed he was sterile, wouldn't a miracle baby save their marriage?

So, she decided to test the waters first.

She immediately flew out to New York. Overflowing with excitement, she rushed straight to his corporate headquarters, waiting out in the biting cold for two hours. Sebastian was visibly shocked by her arrival. He didn't introduce her to his colleagues; he just had his assistant drop her off at his flat.

Still fueled by blind optimism, she didn't pick up on his blatant refusal to acknowledge her publicly.

When he got home that night and showered, he didn't even bother to ask if she was tired from the long flight. He leaned over to kiss her ear, but his eyes were completely hollow, treating her like a chore.

As if she had flown all the way there just to beg for his attention.

Feeling thoroughly uncomfortable, Raelynn pushed him away. Swallowing her nerves, she asked, "If I got pregnant, would we..."

That single sentence instantly killed whatever little mood he had.

Sebastian pulled away without a second of hesitation. He rolled over, closed his eyes, and maintained a cold, insurmountable distance.

"If you think bringing a child into this is going to magically fix our marriage, I highly suggest you stop dreaming."

His tone was perfectly calm, yet brutally cruel.
